  1. I wouldn't worry too much, I receive packages that are sent Media Mail that the seller just turned a Priority Box inside out....even with the black USPS stamp all over it. That is crazy. I sent some system stuff out before via Media Mail but this was a long time ago before it was even Media Mail....when it wasn't questioned like it is now and I didn't even know. Now, it is such a big deal and with all of the questions because of 911 everything is nuts. I just sold some NES systems recently and only offered Priority Mail because I didn't want to mess with anything. At least the box is free. I've never used one for Media Mail though.
  2. Just wondering if a system or a couple controllers ever fell in to the box of cartridges that you were sending Media Mail the next day. It could happen!
  3. If I can send a bunch of stinky 8-Track tapes or a bunch of crappy cassette tapes through the mail via Media Mail then I can send game cartridges. Those people are crazy, they need to read their own handbook and put two and two together. Also, I hear them group things in with the word, "software" as being OK (they are referring to computers). Well, what is a Atari system or a NES system but a small computer that plays cartridge based games (software). It makes me mad when I have to argue with the tellers or whatever they are. Especially when they ask me all of those dumb questions over and over again. Hazardous, Liquid, Perishable, Fragile, Fruit, Nude Photos, Anything I Might Like..........or whatever!!
  4. How much do you think Tank Command with the instructions is worth? I am just curious because I have not seen one in awhile on eBay. I think it is actually a pretty neat game and enjoy playing it. I find it difficult though. Froggo made some crappy 2600 games though, I have all of them in fact all I need to complete my "Froggo Collection" is a Task Force box and a Tank Command box...good luck with that, right?
  5. I currently have 271 games not including anything in the mail. I love Atari games and this also doesn't include any of my 5200, 7800 or Computer games which I also have many of. The favorites and I guess rarest of my collection are Chainsaw Massacre w/Instructions, Glib, Obelix w/Instructions, Bumper Bash w/Instructions and my 3 boxed Adult games (2 Mystique, 1 Playaround). I have not counted my games before now, it was interesting to see how many I had.
  6. I am starting to build a nice collection of Atari items including some rare and pricey games. I keep them in a cool, dry, out-of-the-direct-sunlight type of place but I do worry sometimes about theft and/or fire. This is all assuming that everything else (the family) and everything was fine after a horrible event like this but what about those prized Atari items? What do you think? I love having the games in my home and on display so I and anyone else can see. I am not trying to put a big price tag on my collection nor am I collecting Atari for anything but fun but....I would hate for something to happen to them. KIDS ARE MESSY! I just saw the huge mess the three of them made before they left for school. AHHH...the joys of being a Stay-At-Home-Dad!!!
  7. Just a week ago I was at my local post office mailing game cartridges Media Mail in a Sturdy Box thank you very much. And, the lady behind the counter gave me the hardest time saying that my "games" don't qualify for Media Mail. I was outraged and being the ass that I am, I started to get visibly upset and the voice started to raise. Soon after, I brought in other postal workers that I knew better into the conversation and luckily they stood up for me. I don't think this lady was very popular with her co-workers but anyway, some of these postal workers have no idea what's going on. Others are very nice and knowledgable about their job. Sellers should all carry a small copy of the quote from the USPS website around stating what Media Mail is. That is, if any of you still use it after seeing CPU's box.
  8. I paid a little over $100.00 with S&H for my NTSC Obelix with the instruction manual in very nice condition. I agree that it doesn't seem to be quite a 10 but like the other guy said, I am also happy that I have a "10" in my collection.
  9. The cart that I won is in way better condition than the one in my collection (the one in the picture). I guess I am just assuming it will arrive in good shape, trusting. Anyway, I really like instructions and had to have this one. I'm just counting on someone out there not seeing that I won the cart and instructions for $20.50...taking a chance again.
  10. Hey Everyone! Has anyone noticed how much more common Cosmic Swarm seems to be compared to Mines Of Minos or Room Of Doom. It seems for every two or three Cosmic's there is only one of the others. Anyway, I know that Cakewalk and Stronghold are no comparison but for all three of these to be the same rarity seems odd. I used to buy at sales and had people buying games for me in Pennsylvania years ago and while I did come across Room of Doom and Mines Of Minos, I came across Cosmic Swarm an awful lot more. It seems the same on eBay too sometimes. Just a thought, I am now collecting Atari and am interested in CommaVid games as I now have Cosmic Swarm with the instructions and am selling the other cart on eBay that I already had in my collection. If anyone has the other two at a reasonable price, let me know.
  11. A boxed Malagai would also fetch a great deal! I think there was one not long ago.
  12. Hello, I wish that the instruction manual page protectors would come back to the store. I am having trouble finding them anywhere else and they fit almost every Atari manual. I have so many built up, how do some of you guys/gals store your instructions for games with no boxes? If someone that has anything to do with AtariAge sees this, could they somehow let me know when you will get these back or where else I might find them. Thanks!
  13. I agree, that is a lot of money and more than I could spend. Although, it is simply supply and demand and there are a lot of new Atari collectors popping up all of the time, daily. Also, it is like you said a 10 which is considered the rarest and is actually a game made by the Atari company. The game looking in pretty much perfect condition and including the box and manual never hurts, also it is much more common in PAL version but the seller states it is NTSC so that is also good. I actually bid on this game up to about 100 bucks but that is about it. Remember, Quadrun is only a 9 and cartridge only can sell for $300 easily if it is in very nice condition. Also, think of this, I personally sold a Quadrun instruction manual only a few years ago for close to $90 but that was when I wasn't collecting and simply selling all video games I found. But, that was just a piece of paper that someone spent almost $100 bucks on. Also, I don't know the production run of this game in NTSC but that could definately have something to do with it. And, I haven't seen the game on eBay lately....especially complete! These are just my thoughts, I really don't know too much though.
  14. Sounds like just about everyone collects for many Atari and other platforms. Sounds great! I collect for anything at all Atari but that is about it. I don't have enough time or money to expand into NES etc... Although I do resell all other video games that I find at yard sales, flea markets and other places. I started this topic a couple of days ago and heard from a lot of people, thanks a lot!
  15. I agree 100%, this is an absolutely amazing site and I have read that it is run as a hobby. They have done an excellent job on the site and I can't even begine to imagine the time spent with the rarity guide. I am just as much of an eBay-geek as I am an Atari-Geek so I intertwine the rarity with what I see there and I know that is not right and it is not what the rarity guide stands for. A rarity guide has to be a combination of many different sources. Just like the Telegames.com website and the games they sell. They are not the cheapest there but are readily available. However, can't find these at the local Goodwill very often...even cartridge only. In conclusion, the site is awesome and I actually think the rarity guide is very accurate for the most part.
  16. I know I am a newbie, what is the controller thing that everyone has. I know it is probably something about how long you have been registered or something. But, what's the real story....just curious cause I have none.
  17. I really like collecting any Atari instructions. One of the first big items I bought on eBay was a Bumper Bash NTSC game Buy It Now and it came with the instructions, I was so excited. You don't see instructions for the really rare games that often. On a different note, I am just jumping around. But don't you think some of the rarity levels given for games is a little (or a lot) off. Like Rubik's Cube for instance. I see an awful lot of these right along with Video Cube. The rarity seems a little high. Also, OBELIX. When I wasn't collecting Atari and I lived in Pennsylvania, I honestly sold 3 or 4 of these that I found for 50 cents and a dollar each at Flea Markets. This was back in 1999-2000 when I was selling on eBay a lot. Anyway, I just bought Obelix on eBay because I now live in Phoenix, AZ and finding Atari games out here is difficult to say the least. I did find a Video Cube at my local swap meet (that's what they call it out here) with about 20 other games, a system and everything for $20.00. I sold the Video Cube for $38.00 buy it now which was excellent since I already have that one. Sorry, I am telling my life story.
  18. Hey, CPUWIZ is Mr.Microcode. I have bought games from you, your auctions are always great. I enjoy seeing all of the neat games that you have for auction. You all are very nice here in the forum, thanks so much! I do have one more thought, check this out! What about a rarity guide for instructions? Instructions for Atari games are an awesome accessory to find with the cartridge as well as boxes although I am not a big box collector. I guess the rarity guide is for all items related to the game but when someone says they have a certain game, I am always wondering what they have with it. For instance, some Data Age games have the instructions and then a little piece of paper which was meant to look old or something. I have the one for Bermuda Triangle. Anyway, it is just a though of how rare the instructions are, I think sometimes they are harder to find.
  19. Wow, the Minor Threat shirt is cool in the pic you have. What would you consider your most prized atari game is. I just won the Obelix that was on eBay with the Instructions and it is in Excellent Condition...better than I hoped for. I see it is a Rarity 10 on the site although we all know rarity doesn't necessarily go along with the price games bring. Quadrun is only a 9 and you can easily get 3 times as much as Obelix which is a 10. Anyway, I just love Atari too!
  20. Hello Everyone! I am new to the forum but have been collecting Atari and visiting this great site for a couple years. I am just wondering if most of you guys/gals collect many Atari platforms or just the 2600. I like almost anything Atari although I am unable to get into Coin-Op right now. Although the 2600 is my favorite due to the number of available titles and all of the cool and crazy companies that decided to dabble in video games, I just started collecting for the Lynx.
