  1. Fixed it by taking the advice of the other thread. Purchased a regular sized 8GB SD card (instead of a micro SD card in an SD card carrier) and the flashback now boots and works fine and I can access 100's of games.
  2. If I turn my Atari Flashback portable on with an SD card installed, all I get is a blank screen and nothing else. If I remove the SD card it boots to the usual menu of inbuilt games. I have tried reformatting the card (with SD Formatter and Windows) and also installing the card with no files on it but get the same result. The SD card reads and writes fine in my PC. The card is a MicroSD in an SD adapter SanDisk 8GB Ultra speed up to 48MB/s Any help appreciated. Thanks !
  3. Yep - file was set to Read Only. After that I can write to the ATR at will. Knew it was something simple and I was looking at the wrong end of the problem :-) In fact I now have the ATR in my dropbox with Altirra installed on my home and work PCs. Now I can access and work on the file from either machine (but obviously not at the same time). Thanks !
  4. Thanks, will try out your suggestions when I get home.
  5. Hi there, Sorry if this is a newbie question, but I did a quick search and could not find a solution to my problem. I am sure I am overlooking something simple. I have a question regarding Altirra and the correct method for saving something back to an ATR file. For example, I have an ATR image of Synassembler and mounted it to D1: I can boot the disk in Altirra and can create code in the assembler just as if I were at a real Atari (thanks Altirra !!) However, what I am having a problem with is saving my work back to the ATR. If I save I can see the file in the directory after running "DIR". However my files appears to be only "virtually" saved and not saved within the actual ATR file itself. I have the disk parameter in Altirra set to R/W, but after I save a file that setting changes to VirtRW (probably Virtual Read Write). If this is possible can anybody please point me in the right direction to write my file back to the ATR itself ? Thanks in advance.
  6. What I ended up doing was purchasing a micro USB to USB adapter and plugging in my Logitech controller (got a pack of 2 for $6.95 on Amazon). This combination works fantastic with the tablet. I will pursue a Bluetooth keypad in the future to eliminate the wires but for now this works great with the Colleen emulator. Thanks for all of the tips.
  7. Kevin, Randy and Brad, Keep up the great work !! I have trouble remembering what I had for breakfast and you guys are pulling stories and facts out of people that occurred over 30 years ago !! Cheers !
  8. By the way, my apologies for the thread title. I do know the correct spelling for "Pozzible" and must have been thinking of "SYZYGY" while typing LOL.
  9. Franco, Greblus thanks for the replies. At least I now know it's feasible. Agreed, Colleen is a great emulator on Android. I will post my success/failure once I get a joystick. Thanks.
  10. Thanks so much for the links !! I am just getting back into Atari and had no idea that archive.org existed let alone contain scans of Antic and Analog. Fantastic ! I just got so sidetracked looking at some of the articles and advertisements and stepped back in time LOL Anyway, it looks like the one I originally built was from Page 6 Magazine (also on archive.org) here: https://archive.org/stream/page6-magazine-19/Page6_19_Jan_1986#page/n43/mode/2up I need to re-read it to be sure but the layout of the article looks familiar. I built it on a vero board (per the Page 6 magazine). I lived in the UK back then and I am not sure if Vero boards were popular over here or not. Anyway, thanks to you all for pointing me in the right direction !!
  11. Great thanks ! That doesn't look like the article I was thinking of but certainly gives me the info I need.
  12. Has anybody tried using a Micro USB adapter to connect a SYZYGY USB joystick on an Android tablet that is running the Colleen emulator ? Are there any other joystick connection options for a USB tablet ? Bluetooth ?
  13. Colleen Package v3.0/Core Version V3.1.0 is working great on my Dell 8" 3840 tablet.
  14. It's also a lot different from Birmingham where I grew up :-) However we do have canals here but they are to keep the swamps from returning not for transportation LOL
  15. Back in the 80's I remember a magazine article that detailed how to build an external speech synthesizer using an SPO-256 chip for the Atari 400/800 that attached to the joystick ports. I remember building it and it worked great and amazed my parents at the time. It's been so long ago that I have forgotten which magazine it was. Does anybody remember which magazine it was as I want to use it as a reference for something else I am thinking of doing with the Atari. Thanks in advance !!
