  1. There is always Best Electronics but there is a minimum order and shipping (to Midwest) is not the cheapest. There are a few sellers on Ebay. I purchased one for $14.00 w/ free shipping from a seller in Czechoslovakia who has close to 400 of them. The free shipping will take awhile ( due end of Nov) but it was shipped promptly. I can let you know more once i receive it. How I just need a working Concerto to put it in.
  2. Sorry I sold my CX-55 before I was able to try what I think is the workaround (fix).
  3. Yes, and he has responded to my PM for a suitable solution.
  4. Really, cut the man some slack? How long does it take to reply to a PM? There are multiple people on here with problem cartridges yet none of us have heard back from him. Yep, its a beta with some problems but he chose to sell and support those betas. If they weren't ready, he didn't have to sell them, it was his choice. Did he even check the cartridges, how did jinks get one that doesn't even boot. Seems like we have a lot of "Freds" out there speaking on his behalf. Sorry, but I would like to hear from Fred himself. If you take my money for a product be prepared to support, fix or refund it if needed. I hope he can fix it, lets hope we hear from him.
  5. I hope he can fix it, that is what we all want anyways is a Concerto we can enjoy are 7800 games on. If some games didn't work I could understand that but I cannot play a single game without it freezing, resetting or have messed up graphics. Some load to a blank or white screen and I don't always get a rom menu. Right now i have an expensive paperweight. Any news would be appreciated.
  6. Anyone heard from Fred lately? i have a few unanswered PM's to him. Is he avoiding the angry crowd or hopefully working on a fix for a lot of these broken Concertos? Its bad enough that my Concerto does not work but the lack of answering PM's is inexcusable. He came back here selling his product, now its time to support it.
  7. With no SD inserted you will get the flashing Concerto V.05 for about 10 seconds, you will then get the "Firmware work-in progress screen. When you hit the fire button you will get an initialization screen telling you to check SD card and reseat it. If you can't get past the boot loader, you have problems.
  8. Jinks, So all your game noms in .a78 format? Just copy and paste them all to the SD card. After the Concerto V.05 flashes on screen a couple times, you should have another screen saying this is a work-in process (thats for sure!) and asking you to press the fire button After That you should have your menu screen with the list of noms that you can select. Try reformatting your SD (some have trouble with other types (SDHC SDXC) card to fat 32 and starting again. it can't be bigger than 32gb. Try different SD cards. I also have been waiting to here back from fred
  9. So what firmware are you using? Mine came with .91 and he posted .9 (an earlier version). Also what brand, size and class SD card are you using? Have you done anything to improve loading and playing the games? Thanks
  10. Albert, Thanks for the incite, sorry that Atari community lost another hardware developer. I agree with eebuckeye that it would have been nice if he shared some of his designs and documentation. If he is completely out of it, which it appears to be as he sold his stuff in the marketplace last year, I can see not hosting the website, It costs money. I see he did a Classic Gaming show in 2001 ,looks like he always sold out of his cartridges too. I never got to meet or PM with him and don't own any of his products, but would love to have a CC2 if one shows up reasonable, not likely! I hope you find your CC3 cart...that's a terrible thing to lose!
  11. Hi, Just curious as to why Chad Schell stopped producing his Cuttle Cart series. I see his website is blank (not down) and he is an AA member, but his last post was last year. Did he just leave the retro-gaming scene or ??
  12. If your looking for great emulator handheld type...look for a Nvidia Portable Shield..should be able to pick one up on eBay or craigslist fairly cheap.
  13. This is for Batari (Fred) : I know you don't always read or respond to your PM's I sent you one tonight regarding my Concerto, please read and respond.
  14. So I have tried a lot of SD cards myself from 32GB Class 10 to 4GB class 4 with the same results. I will check if I have a regular SD card not a SDHC. Is everyone running the latest firmware or an older version? To me it appears like a Power/Initialization or timing problem. Sometimes when I power on I get a video loss of sync, or a blank menu screen. Menu wiill show no games and page 000 of 000. Somethings the games come up having missing or distorted graphics elements. They will freeze at some point and sometimes once they load a get a black screen. Sometimes the screen and the sound just goes crazy. The 2600 games play fine on Concerto and my Harmony Encore works fine on my 7800 as do all my regular carts. All the ROMs work fine in my Raspberry Pie. I have an A3 serial number, made in Taiwan with a LongHorn Video mod. Anything left to try?
  15. Kosmic, After the "This is software in progress screen and you hit the fire button to get to your menu screen, you should see Concerto Firmware 0.91 at the top of the screen. Unlike yours, most of my games load and do play...some freeze , i have had a few hang during the load process. I am going to do some more research to make a list. I have not tried 2600 roms or any home-brew 7800 titles, only the official atari/third party roms and most of them work. I noticed I have no sound on Ballblazer but i do not have a Pokey installed. So it appears mine has the latest firmware. Fred i noticed my cartridge case has two marks (inserts?)on both sides of the SD slot and a mark by the usb slot. What are these and are they holding the cartridge together? (yes i see the screw). I want to open (not break!) the case. I ordered a Pokey of Ebay to install (don't own 7800 BallBlazer or Commando) Thanks
  16. I also have some problems with my Concerto....I want to narrow it down a bit before I post more but it upon repowering it it will give me the Concerto V.05 screen then boot into a blank menu screen with page 000 of 000 on it. Sometimes and sometimes i get my populated menu. A lot of game freezing and just hanging. I have .91 firmware. Is that the latest or do I need to do the posted one here? I am using a 4GB class 10 SD card and all the roms work fine with emulators. I have not installed 22uf cap or Pokey chip yet. I have the case that Fred supplied, i removed the screw to open it and something else seems to be holding. Are the plastic clipps or any glue or sealing on it? Also are there any file/or filename limitations for the roms? What is the maximum size SD card I can use?
  17. Thanks, didn't realize Brad sold the chips, I have bought other items from him.
  18. Hi, I acquired a SA2 in good physical shape. However upon powering it up the LEDS are fine and the switches appear to work. The only video I get is what appears to be an " off channel" display. There is no game audio (only white noise) and the reset button does nothing. I have tried numerous known good cartridges. checked the 5 volts, checked the PCB soldering and everything looks good. Do I have a faulty TIA? Any help or suggestion is appreciated. Thanks.
  19. Hi, Does any one know of a source for the 2600 IC's? like the TIA and 6507? I know there are random ebay sellers, but looking for reliable source. Thanks!
  20. PM me with what you have and photos and price. Thanks, Everett

  22. Just a heads up, Fred is a real busy person, with Harmony Orders, H2 development etc. You are wasting his time with question that can be answered in the forum here. He does not answer his email with these questions. Be assured that: He is still making the Harmony Encore and that you will get your cartridge in a very timely manner. Lets not fill this thread with things like: I hope i get mine, I never heard back from him, is he still making them etc. Go to the harmony Website to order and get answers to most of your questions, if you don't see it ask here.
  23. Hi, Has anyone compiled a list of paddle games for the 2600? If so, could you point me to it as my I could not find in search. Thanks
  24. The forstner bits are the best. You can get a nice set cheaply from Harbor Freight. I wish i had known about them before I drilled (and cracked) my 2600 jr. case.
