  1. Is there a list of the correct game rom extension for the emulators in Recalbox? It does not appear to be the same as those for retro pie. Example 7800 roms do not like .bin in Recalbox, do I need to change it to .A52? And the other emulators?
  2. Hi, When i download Dreamcast games I get either or ZIP or RAR files. When I unzip or unrar them i get: 1. a .bin and cue file or 2. a small .GDI file ( a couple of bytes) and a couple for TRACK files and a .RAW file. How can I use either of these to work in Reicast which requires .CDI or .GDI files. I am using a Macintosh. Thanks
  3. Hi, I want to use the Reicast emulator to play dreamcast roms. It Requires .CDI or .GDI files. When i download them they are in two formats, ZIP or RAR When I unzip or unrar them i get: 1. a .bin and cue file or 2. several files like Track1, Track two and Track three and a small .gdi file (187bytes). What do i need to do to make these work?
  4. Hi, I also just got a Channel F so I would like to purchase a multicart on your next batch. Does it include the full version of Pac-Man?
  5. Trebor, great collection and list, thanks for sharing. How often do you plan on updating it? Thank god I can play these on my raspberry pi while we wait for an SD cartridge.
  6. If you ordered the cartridge from Atarimax website he tells you exactly what is included in the purchase. An SD card a a copy of Beef Drop....no other games. All the .bin files for the 5200 games and homebrew are located right here on Atariage and are easy to download and install. If you seen the video and go to his website he explains how and where to put the game roms. You can click on your ZIP file and extract the .bin file for Yars Strike. If doing downloading and installing .bin files is "too technically challenging" to you, why did you buy the cartridge after viewing the video? How do you plan on installing new homebrew when released if you can't install a .bin file? Go to atarimax website and read the documentation!
  7. I'm interested in nice sorted NTSC , duplicate free collection of working only roms that are correctly titled. Anyone taken the time to do one? Mine has non-working and dupes.
  8. Thanks for all the suggestions, maybe i should consider an 800XL or newer machine. Open Slot (no door), Video output and more memory and newer OS. Are there no SD cartridges for the 8-bit?
  9. Hi, I had an Atari 400 growing up and loved it! So i thought i would get another many, many years later. Things have changes now, so I am wondering: 1) Is the a Flash cartridge for the 8 bits? Tell me more about what is available . Can they play disk and cassette files? 2) What are the Atari file extensions used? 3) Does a Video Mod (composite or S-Video) Board or kit exist? I have read about Bryans UAV Board but that won't be available for awhile. thanks!
  10. I can only see competition as a good thing. It would be nice to have a choice of SD carts. Did anyone gripe when Mateos stuff came out? Right now we have nothing so the chance of at least one cartridge making it out the gate would be a godsend. I have supported Fred by buying his Harmony Encore but I find his lack of at least a small update here (how long does it take to write a small update post?) regarding H2 process is frustrating. Seems like everyone here is speaking on his behalf and giving reasons why we have not heard from him. Lets face it, we would all like to hear directly from him. How about it Fred? (not sure he even reads this) SainT you have communicated more about the projected project then we have heard from Fred. If you can get a reasonable working SD flash cart out, Ill buy it. Go for it SainT!!

    H2

AceHart you had it correct: I don't think anybody mentioned his taking any money heretofore. I believe "He should just offer money back if..." was hypothetical, meaning let them be sold with the understanding that there is a money-back guarantee. That is exactly what I was trying to convey. Will it ever be possible to be 100% sure it will work on ALL 7800? I think most of us want a working H2 and don't believe there would that many returns. If he gave say a 7 day period and say the unit must be returned in "As new" condition along with a description of failure and 7800 serial number, he could get useful info on making it better and keeping a customer happy. He is getting a Like new device back that he can re-sell...no lose of money there! If he doesn't offer to take back a unit that doesn't work in a customers 7800, he will alienate that customer and the bad new will spread. Fred can check the cart to make sure it works on his units before giving the refund. Ultimately it is his choice when he feels he wants to release it, but trying to make it work on 100% of the units is unrealistic. he could be selling products while fine tuning it.

    H2

I would love to have the H2 available now. Finding that last 2% of 7800s that is does not work on could be a real time consuming chore. He should just offer money back if it does not work with your 7800. I had a similar situation on the VecMulti flash cart, for some reason it would not work on my Vectrex but tested fine on his test system. He acknowledged that there are a few it does not work on but does own one of those units. He gladly refunded my money on return and offered to make an older VecFlash cart for me. VecFlash worked for me and he was able to re-sell my VecMulti.
  13. I have these adapters and they work great with my Sega 3 and 6 button controllers. It works with two button games on the 7800 (like Choplifter). He will make them with any cable length you want. i went with the standard 6" length as my Sega pads have long cords. I recommend them and they are reasonably price!
  14. Hi, Are there any differences for the 5200 files, .BIN, .ROM and .A52? Can they just be renamed to another extension? The Atarimax lets you hide the .ROM extension but not .bin which is most of my game files. I would like to rename them to .ROM if possible. Also i have tried many of the files for the game A.E on my Atarimax . and all I get is a black screen. Does this work for anyone else? Thanks
  15. I did try Dark Mage and Stellar Shuttle and while the font size was larger in both games and readable it appears just like the harmony text appears on my Flat screen. It looks like every other line is missing. I decided to try a CRT and picked up a Sony CRT. I hooked it up to my 7800 via S-Video with the Harmony Encore and Wow was I surprised!! Everything looks great, the Harmony Text, all the 2600 games are much sharper than they ever were on the Flat Screen. While my other systems look great on my LCD, the CRT is now used exclusively for my 7800.
  16. OK, so what I understand is that my TV can't handle the 30hz flicker and 96 pixel interleaved text of the display kernel. Other 2600 text displays fine on my set, So is it just how Fred decided to program the text for the Harmony or did it have to be that way because of program considerations? Unfortunately My set does not have a Game mode (it has others like Retail, Movie) and I've tried them all, I also tried the sharpness without much improvement. So besides getting a new TV or just living with it is there anything else i can do? Would a composite to HDMI scaler help?
  17. My encore display looks terrible on my A/V modded junior ( this has a simple one transistor composite mod). On my 7800 I have the longhorn video mod board and using composite video, it looks much better. I am using a flat panel LED TV. The font used in the Harmony is made for a CRT. I wish Fred would offer an update to the Firmware with a FONT made for modern TV's, if that is possible. Fred, are you listening? There are a lot of us Flat panel TV users out here in classic land!
  18. What was the first conversion and where to find it?
  19. I have the long horn board installed in my 7800 and love it. To install the TIA switch just purchase an SPST toggle switch, cut the current TIA wire and wire to the two terminals on the switch. It that simple.
  20. Sounds like a Voltage regulator or capacitor in the power supply. I would replace the voltage regulator and electrolytic filter caps.
  21. Hi, I would pay 200-250 but keep the video output HDMi and support the 5200.
  22. Hi, I have a good working CX-55 VCS adaptor for the 5200 that I can no longer use on my AV modified 5200. If you have a 2 port/ or updated 4-port 5200 and still use RF output to your TV, this unit should work great. Asking $40 plus shipping. PM me if interested Thanks, Everett1954
  23. I have all the systems too. (2600, 5200, 7800) and just picked up a nice FB2. The FB2 is hooked up to Main living Room TV (Along with a Coleco FB) so I can enjoy some great games with my granddaughter. She can also play with her friends without having to worry about inserting cartridges and wonder will they work. The FB2 has only 40 games but they are some of the best, as the FB number went higher so did the number of games included. The FB2 has some paddle games too. I'm going to pick up the Portable when available. Look at the list of games that you would like and pick up that model. that has the games that interest you.
  24. Bill, So does the Atari Flashback Portable have an SD cart slot? There was no mention in the press release.
