  1. I found a lot of the TS 1016 16KB memory modules on ebay for very good prices. I purchased two for $9.95 (both) so hopefully one will work. Once i have a working unit (keyboard replaced) I plan on doing the composite modification. I will try the tape to wave program with an MP3 player also. How can I verify that my TS1000 see's the TS1016 module? Can I see free ram available somehow? I would like to find PDF's of all the manuals. Any help? Thanks for all the great info everyone has provided!
  2. Sure if you could write up the SRAM mod it would be appreciated. I understand electronic schematics and have done alot of soldering and repairs. Are the 32KB ram chips still available?
  3. I have the new replacement keyboard coming from England. I would be interested in modding mine to 16KB...can someone point me to the mod? Also, how does everyone load games now? Cassette play, mp3 or carts on memory expansion slot?
  4. Contact Joe at http://electronicsentimentalities.com/index.html He sells modded units. Does great work.
  5. Thanks almightytood and markO for the emulator and sharing your help and photos of your collection. I am going to try and get one of those keyboards from "across the pond" and will let you know how that works. I have a long way to go to have any collection but once it is fixed would like memory pack and a Basic manual. MarkO do you still use a cassette recorder? Where is a good site for programs and games and general Timex Sinclair info?
  6. I enjoy space shooters, like Beam Rider, Juno 1, Vanguard including Demon Attack and Phoenix and Atlantis.
  7. Well , this is what i found: The TS1000 was not dead, it just did not display on my Sony CRT ( brightness set too low or ??) I tried it on my LCD and got a prompt! However only some of the keys worked. Seems the flex cable from the membrane keyboard has a couple broken traces, The breaks are too high to cut back the flex circuit so I will have to try some other repair. I have been reading about all the broken flex cable problems with the keyboard and the repairs that were done. Seems I will have to use some ribbon cable and make a jumper. Has anyone tried to solder or use some conductive glue to attach wires to keyboard flex? If so, let me know what you used and any tips. If I would find a replacement membrane keyboard that would be the best but did not find any searching. Anyone have one or complete top cover of case? If I end up fixing and keeping, ill search out a nice 12" Black and White TV.
  8. I tried Zombie Chase and it is OK. So is this Gramma's revenge game part of of Stella's Stocking? The odyssey 2 controller has 1 button and Death Race plays fine on it. How about it Debro or Thomas, care to finish up Death Derby? How complete is it now?
  9. One of my favorite games from the arcades and now on my Odyssey 2 and Vectrex is Exidy's Death Race. I wonder why there is no 2600 port? Is there a clone that I may not be aware of?
  10. Hi, I would be interested in hearing what you feel is the best 2600 game (homebrew included) with the best sound, music or speech.
  11. kevtris, I know you have mentioned a couple times that you have worked on cores already. Can you give us a list of which cores are completed and which ones are works in progress? I know this will probably change as hardware hasn't finalized. Thanks for checking in an giving us a monthly update. I can't wait for Zimba to become a reality.
  12. Nukey, thanks for fixing all those files to work on the FBP. It is very much appreciated!
  13. Yes, I accept orders not on Etsy , anyone is welcome to contact me about and Item they saw. When I post here it is with my AA name and a description of the item, you are not clicking on a rogue link. If they want to purchase my items through Etsy, then they can open an account, no one is forcing them to do that, I have not have had any complaints because It lets people know there are items beyond what people see here on AA, items they just might not have found had they just checked AA. There are many posting by people here that say "I just put this up on ebay, check it out. At least you have a good description of the item I am selling and taking you a direct (not ad) site, We can keep going on about this, I appreciate the feedback but for now if you really don't want to click on that Etsy link don't. I can tell you that many other have been.
  14. Not an auction, read above post. Item is for sale.
  15. Don't know why you feel it is a wild goose chase? The link post directly to my Etsy store and directly to the item described. The are no ads on the site. Why should I duplicate all the photos and information when it is already there along with pricing and shipping cost.

  17. Atari Leaf, Leave it plugged in for about 11 hours on the first time charging it. Yes it takes that long on the first charge, I thought mine wasn't charging either. Any loading problems will be your SD card, bad card, wrong size, bad formatting etc. Use SD Formatter, it is available for PC or Mac. 8GB or less for SD card.

  20. if you are a player and don't collect cartridges and boxes, the Atarimax Ultimate 5200 SD cartridge is the way to go. Saves space and money in the long run. If the Best Electronic controllers are too much money consider rebuilding your own using his parts. A working controller and the Atarimax should be the first things youshould buy, all the others you can get later.
  21. Pretty quiet in this thread lately. I think we are all waiting to hear from Fred on what to try next or if he made any process. I have been using Trebor's latest home-brew pack along with the retail releases for doing my testing. RevEng have you come up with any other tests to try? Still doesn't like the Pokey, stops the program loading at various percentages, that seems like a bus loading or conflict problem to me. I always run the Cart Integrity test before trying the games and 90% it runs all green, the other 10% I get two red blocks but not always at the same location. With the new SD cart, I no longer have any menu freezing and more home-brew games play with Tremors latest pack. Anyone else have any breakthroughs or new findings?
  22. You could get a can of Freeze Spray and and try and pinpoint the defective component.
  23. Ok, so I guess it is just bad implantation on ATgames part (trying to use a momentary pushbutton instead of a slide/toggle switch). So back to Bill, any logic behind this, or just cost cutting?
