  1. I am so sorry, Eric. We all know how much you loved her very much from all your posts. Both you and Salt will be in many of our thoughts and prayers today; I'm sure.
  2. One Mystic Castle, Two Super Pro Baseball, and Two Fight For The Cup Super Pro Hockey boxes for me please! Woohoo! Many thanks to whomever is producing the boxes
  3. Looks like the box art for the standard and original versions of BC's Quest for Tires are the exact same as opposed to Sydney Hunter and the Sacred Tribe. So, the only difference between these two BC versions (other than price and availability) are that the overlays are not included in the standard version, correct?
  4. Thanks! I'll try to modify my firewalls to see if I can gain access.
  5. I am new to the Vectrex and was hoping to get some copies of Vectrexians and Vector Pilot! Unfortunately I cannot reach Kristof Tuts' website using this link after multiple attempts on different days (?). Does anyone know if his website has moved elsewhere or if there is another way to contact him to get these games? Thanks for your thoughts!
  6. Sell the book for thousands and buy rare Intellivision games that you can play with your buddy; then you both win! Seriously, though, I am confused as sounds like you sell the book and make a "hefty" profit in both scenarios so am not sure where the dilemma lies? I am assuming that in the first one you sell to your buddy for a much cheaper price? Well, I suppose that depends on how badly you need the money versus strengthening the friendship with further generosity towards him. Sounds like you have plenty of money saved up so perhaps money is less of a concern for you but I obviously don't know all of the details. If this friend has been a good and true friend; someone who has stuck by you through good or bad decisions for years and would drop everything to come help you out of a jam if you really needed him, then no amount of money can buy that and I would sell him (or just give him) the book immediately if he wanted it. If he is just kind of a little more than an "acquaintance friend" as you have known each other for so long then I suppose it depends on how generous you feel. Either way, it sounds like you will make a profit in the end so why not sell to your buddy and take care of your friends because that's what life is all about!
  7. Awesome! Big interest in this from me as I love to play with the synthesizer and have wished more material had been made for decades. I cannot remember which thread joked about making Rock Band Intellivision components but if they had been made along with the game I would have instantly bought them; big music fan. I understand most folks probably do not have the synthesizer so is a much smaller or limited market to produce for but you have my full support (i.e. money) if you produce a new melody blaster version with a library of new songs in rom or cart form (or dare I say a new game altogether?) moving forward!
  8. Hmmm, I didn't know it came with a free horse skull. Cool! Maybe that freebie should have come with Desert Bus instead of the air freshener or with Stampede...
  9. The box in the INTV grab bag contained Halo Atari 2600 carts that were put in there by Albert as the first Grab Bag recipient (10 or so, I believe). By the time the Grab Bag reached both you and I all of the carts were gone and replaced with INTY goodies inside the separate box instead. SiLic0ne T0aD85 is also right as well as someone (not sure who) made a pic of a gag INTV Halo Box. Not sure if a box was ever produced but the pic actually made it onto a INTV emulator collection for the Sega Dreamcast (see link) but don't believe a Halo game is in the actual collection. https://www.etsy.com/listing/481441103/intellivision-emulator-custom-sega?ref=hp_rv
  10. THANK YOU for your well thought out response. I do understand that you (nor any other developer here) are not a major gaming manufacturer and have a job, family, and life outside of the hobby and was not my intention to speak as if you can just churn boxes out at the drop of a hat. My rant was not intended to be directed directly at you but at the comment that other developers could produce carts but "probably will also not get the box treatment", implying no more boxes would be made as if some insider deal was in place. If I misread that then I apologize. Yes, I essentially said "no rush" in my PM yesterday to you and still mean it but once I read comments like that, whether misread or not, it pushes the urgency to address the issue or confusion. I will not debate every point you made and make two very long posts even longer except to say that I understand your opinions and appreciate you respect mine in return. They are very different in some aspects but that's what makes us all a community! My guess is that most folks on this forum feel that a "complete collection" would be at least one variant of all the 125 and homebrews CIB but that has been endlessly discussed elsewhere. I will also say this: you are too modest about your boxes. They ARE highly collectible items (not just prettier than clear plastic), definitely add values to the homebrews and are becoming an important part of collecting in this community when they are produced (in my opinion). If you doubt that then all you have to do is look at these two Piggy Bank sales on eBay a week apart last December to see the significant difference in value the accessory box/manual/overlays add: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Intellivision-Piggy-Bank-CIB-INTV-Rare-Game-/182392376636?hash=item2a776ecd3c:g:k~EAAOSw5cNYTfYC http://www.ebay.com/itm/Piggy-Bank-for-Intellivision-Brand-New-/182392390653?hash=item2a776f03fd:g:VVgAAOSw44BYVgq7
  11. I am sure that you feel like you're being attacked when you're only trying to sell your games that did not move well for over a year but your response misses the point as to why several folks in the community are unhappy with this. So, even though I'm sure you already know this from your homebrew list thread, allow me to clarify. This has been building up from several different game developers that are somewhat exploiting the fact that "completist" collectors will pay absolutely absurd amounts of money just to try to keep their collection complete; no matter how good or bad the game is (ex: Blix), how many different variants are put out (CBS and NTSC/Premium and Standard/Other), or whatever partial product to make lone carts closer to CIB is thrown out for sale. This is NOT the only instance of this but is only getting worse if there are now going to be extremely limited quantities of CIB component items (ex: only 5 "special" Lock N' Chase boxes available; 4 here and one for whomever requested the1hatman to design the box) in order to attempt to keep one's homebrew collection complete. If that pattern of putting out extremely limited items continues where OBVIOUSLY supply DOES NOT meet demand in such a small but intensely dedicated community, we may lose several folks as there is just no hope of them keeping their collections complete and, painful as it may be, they'll move on to collecting something else. Maybe the community can withstand that, and maybe it cannot. To several people it's not just about getting a new game; it's about opening a new box, reading that new manual, sliding that new overlay into your controller so you can re-live that nostalgia you had when you got a new game for your birthday when you were young. Once you add a box/manual/overlay to a game that did not have one before you will get a lot more folks salivating to buy it around here as they are a "completist" collector and that should be common knowledge. Personally, I do not have a problem whatsoever with you putting the last four carts into newly developed boxes that help you to sell them and move your product; more power to ya. I was one of the few that bought your Collapsing Lupin cart several months ago to help support the development community and have somewhat of a completist bug in me anyways, if you cannot tell. What I DO have a problem with, however, is if developers of any component of a CIB now give the impression there are only 5 that will be produced and no more will (likely) ever be made for the masses where not everyone in the community has a chance or "window of time" to buy it at a standard price fix. We also just saw this on eBay with some CBS Overlays sets as well where only two were developed and sold. This is not due to a limitation of developer resources or a "contest prize" but is specifically being done for a reason. Developers can follow their own prerogatives but only developing 2-5 of something that appears to be highly collectible will only support a community of 2-5 people. It DOES exploit the situation as the demand is OBVIOUSLY higher than that for these items. That is the message that is coming across and, as m-crew already stated, this auction is more about the box to several of us and not about the game. Alex Pace and Lathe26 have already asked if more boxes would be produced which has obviously fallen on deaf ears with no comment from either you or The1hatman so sounds like the answer is "no". For you to state that anyone can produce more carts but that they (probably) will NOT get the box treatment also highly confirms this. The1hatman was definitely more than willing to produce Blix and Piggy Bank boxes to anyone that asked within a certain window of time before but now will not respond to requests (at least mine) for this one. Why else would that be except to drive up auction prices? I was looking forward to purchasing or trading for the SP Baseball and Mystic Castle boxes from The1hatman as well in the near future but will they go down this road as well? While this may not have been what you intended by having The1hatman produce boxes to help you sell your last four games, it is certainly coming across as such by blocking further box production when it has just been announced, demand is obviously way more than supply, and you state that more will (probably) not be produced. That does not support this community, it only exploits it.
  12. Hello and welcome! I don't post very often either unless I feel I have something worthy to contribute so take whatever I say with a grain of salt as it is not everyone's opinion. Most (if not all) the homebrews are also worth having for sure and are lots of fun. How you go about obtaining them all depends on whether you feel you are more of a "collector/purist/completist" or "gamer" where you just want to play the games. It's all up to you! Not to place a label on you but sounds like you have the collector bug since you almost have all of the original 125 CIB. I too have this "sickness" with all 125 CIB and literally have almost every homebrew CIB as well but had to pay thousands of dollars to get there as, like you, got nostalgic and came back to collecting INTV games only a couple years ago. Looking back at how much money I spent collecting all of the homebrew games CIB (some cost $400 or more; most average @ $100-150 CIB on eBay if out of print but depends on who's bidding) I could have saved thousands of dollars by just collecting the ROMs and playing them on an Ultimate INTV Flashback (which you now own) or on an LTO Flash cart. But, the collector bug in me probably would have always thirsted for actually having the box/manual/overlays and there's always something about having the actual cart you get to stick into the console. If you are that sick in the head as I am and for some reason want to spend well over $100 for a box and a couple slips of plastic and paper them by all means get them all CIB. There is something to be said for actually supporting the game development community so they keep producing games but as most of them are out of print now you are not directly paying the developer anymore at that point. Also, be sure that you are not going to financially drive yourself to eating Ramen noodles every meal and living out of a cardboard box on the street. Also then realize that more homebrew games are being produced every year so you will need to set aside $500+ dollars a year just to keep up with collecting all the new CIB homebrews before they are out of print too. Several of the homebrew ROMs are either free or only cost $20 or less so should be a major consideration in your decision. Then, even after you finish collecting them the addiction can get worse and now you feel you need to own all the box/game/hardware variants, overlay sets, boxes for games that were never eventually made, start branching out into other retro game systems, and the list goes on and on. Pretty soon you don't even have time to play the games you're buying because you're always on eBay/GoodWill/Etsy looking for that next great deal to add to your already immense collection. Finally you realize it's pretty impossible to own everything unless you're a billionaire and money's no object. So, the ultimate lesson is to be happy with what you already have, choose your limits wisely to not drive yourself crazy thinking you need everything, and when the sickness starts to overtake you just stop and play some games!
  13. Stop playing with your pole already and let's vote on some games!
  14. Okay, the grab bag is back on the move again after the holidays! It mostly contained INTV commons or even items for other systems so have decided to spice it up with multiple more uncommon to rare INTV duplicate items I had lying around in the hopes that if someone takes they will replace with something equally difficult to find. It was a fun experience and thanks for including me. Enjoy!
  15. Hmmm.... well, it's unfortunate that these "secret squirrel" games are being produced where everyone is not offered a chance to purchase or play them but I suppose that is up to the discretion of the programmer or manufacturer. Doesn't really encourage me to continue collecting for the game system because the only chance I'll get to have these games is when some jackass on eBay finally posts it for ten times what it's worth and everyone not given the chance to initially purchase it falls over themselves trying to buy it. Perhaps I'll spend my money elsewhere...
  16. So is anyone going to tell us what this missing 60th "game that shall not be named" is?
  17. Rev, I have not shipped out to GenetixJ yet; life has been very busy but will promise to ship out shortly with goodies included.
  18. Does anyone know anything about the INTV emulation version of HALO on the cover of this Sega Dreamcast product on eBay? Was a HALO rom for Intellivision ever made? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Intellivision-Emulator-Custom-Sega-Dreamcast-Game-Free-Shipping-/222322337310?hash=item33c371a61e:g:uNkAAOSwcUBYM3bP
  19. One limited edition and one regular copy for me please; lowest #s still available! Thank you!
