  1. in normal easy english? and a short awnser. is it posible? I'll check the power requirements on the US unit and the US PSU, later, when I'm back home. Judging by the other topic it seems as if the european PSUs will work with US Jags/CDs. Haven't heard about that before as I always only used US PSUs + voltage converters.
  2. Voltage in europe is 220V (or 240V), USA and Canada run on 120V. So if you use any US machine in Europe with a european standard PSU, it will fry (the machine and/or PSU), unless you can switch the machine to accept 220V or use a voltage converter. As, if you say, the US Jag CD works with european PSUs, this could only mean that the output of the original european Atari PSU is only 120V (thus it would convert AC electricity) or the Jag CD accepts both 120V and 220V.
  3. I doubt that a US Jag CD will work with european PSUs (you probably will fry it, depending on the voltage/power which is supplied in your country (which is most likley different from the one in America)). However, I don't know exactly, as I use my US Jag stuff with US PSUs and voltage converters. But I do remember that I once had a japanese Mega Drive and by accident I took the wrong PSU.. guess, what happened...

Have you every considered trying to get the rights to publish some of them!? I know the story behind RR and that the upcoming packs probably will include one or more surprises, but what about the rest ?

Hmm, I think I remember one of your posts which made it quite obvious, which one it is
  6. Thanks - know those codes and used them way back to get through the game Scorcher had a very nice design, as well, unfortunately gameplay was a little bit boring (and too difficult, again ). Anyway, very dark and stylish atmosphere. Concerning the music: yeah and ask him if he can't arrange to get some of the tracks they played at their booth (as if he would remember ) - these were rocking... However, good luck on your project(s)...
  7. Yeah, Atari/Infogrames, as well as other "big" companies won't bother with anything related to licenses or doing updates of old games, when asked by private persons or fans (ok, there are some exceptions, but in general those companies just don't care)... But as stated above, if memory serves right, Atari probably won't have any rights to "Amok 2" (don't take this as a guarantee ). Sure, if you can do an update to Amok, I'd love to see it. Played the first one for ages on the Saturn, even if it was too difficult in later stages. But everything else, from graphics to music to general presentation was so cool....
  8. I had a conversation with the programmer of amok. he loved doing a amok 2. but the rights has gone to atari now. they will do nothing with amok. those bastards! How come? Did Lemon sell the whole rights for Amok to GT Interactive? As far as I remember, GT Interactive just had the rights for the PC-Version, as the Saturn version was published by Sega / Koei!? gt interactive went bankrubt and were bought by hasbro 9if memory serves) and then it was bought by atari again. sad news. I can do a amok 2. but just a pc version. no jag version. Yeah, I know that GT int. went down the drain and the remaining outlets and licenses were bought by Infogrames. But GT Int. had just the rights for the PC version of the game, as the Saturn version was published by Sega in Europe and Koei in Japan. I remember speaking to someone of the Lemon / Scavenger Crew on E3 96 - they had a shitload of games on display (and an excellent booth - more like a techno party - however, this guy told me that they were still looking for publishers and would license games per-title only!? Or do you mean that Atari/Infogrames have the code and possibility to do an "Amok 2" but won't do it as they don't see any general interest in this product? If you are allowed to do an "Amok 2" on PC, the same probably should go for any console version!?

  10. They should have jumped in back in 95, so perhaps we would have seen at least some more Jag titles - yeah, not really. The first thing they probably would have done is to scrap any Jag support. Anyway, they just bought the name and licenses when they took over Hasbro Interactive. Atari will never be the same it once was...

I doubt that any work on River Raid by Activision was ever started. Pitfall 2 was probably the same as "Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure". If Activision ever devided to do a "Pitfall 2" it would have come out for some other consoles. The only one which came out later was "Pitfall 3D" in 1998. And I don't think that Activision took this one in consideration for the Jag... Dino Dudes 2 - as far as I know Imagitec had an early demo of an action title up and running, which in the end didn't make into a full game. The only other Jaguar title which was announced by Imagitec was Freelancer... Concerning AVP2 there have been some hints and rumours here and there - could be that there's something out there. Could be an enhanced CD version, could be a demo of a second part. However, it's quite unlikely that someone will officially publish something based on the probalby extremely expensive license. Battlewheels and Gotcha - could be that some work has been started but I doubt that there was anything in a playable form. The same goes for Automaniacs. But in the end, who knows... Could be totally wrong on this (hope so )...
  12. Carl stated in one mail that he's working on at least two Jag projects, but he wouldn't disclose them As far as I know he tried to license Total Carnage from Midway, without success. The same probably goes for Live Wire. So the remaining two could be Virtual VCS and perhaps Dactyl Joust. I'm not sure about Robinson's Requiem, as this was sold to someone, some weeks ago. But as far as I remember, Carl had a copy of this one on one of the JagFests? Don't know... But that's just what could be, perhaps it's something totaly different, he's working on Hey Carl, what about giving us thirsting Jag Fans some hints
  13. http://www.cyberroach.com/jaguarcd/html/dactyl.htm If we'll ever see it, probably lies in Carl's (Songbird's) hands!? Dunno..
  14. There are quite some games out there which are more or less freeware or demos: Arkanna (ok, not really a game Assassin Asteroid Gorf Jagmania Jagmarble JagTris Pong! Instead of playing them on an emu, you could burn em to a cd (with the Atari Jaguar CD Creator) and play 'em on the Jag CD (needs a bypass cartridge, though). All of the above (except for Assassin) work that way...
  15. Sure, it'd be possible to dump the rom and host it somewhere. But why would anyone do that? To get sued by Thunderbird/Scatologic? Even if Scatologic is no longer active in publishing Jaguar titles, the game is not freeware. In addition, it'd just hurt the community as the few remaining publishers probably won't release any new titels when they see them floating around the net, some days later...
