  1. Venture of the 5200 would be awesome!
  2. Yeah, I've spent more time repairing the controllers than playing since I've acquired a 5200. Fast paced arcade styled games need quick response times to be enjoyable. I was playing Berzerk tonight and between the non-centering controller not allowing me to stop moving and the fire button deciding not to shoot randomly, I'm ready for other options It's a bummer really because they are good looking controllers - but the lack of functionality destroys the fun. If anyone wants to sell me two controllers with adapters, please message me. Looking for a few more games as well.
  3. Well, I got 97 games, an atari 7800, a 5200 with trak ball, and tons of controllers for the 7800 (paddle, racing, 6 joysticks) - all got $100! Can't complain too much if the trak ball is off. However, I would like to get it 100% working. Seems like a strong suit of the 5200.
  4. Admittedly, I'm jealous of the trak ball. I got one as well but it's "wiggy." It pulls to the right slightly all the time. I tried popping it open and fixing it but it didnt completely fix the issue. I want to try and fix it again.
  5. Im in the same boat. Just picked up a 5200 and a bunch of games. Fun!
  6. Now that is useful information! Thank you very much guys. Sdamon, I think I will take your advice about not getting new controllers. They won't last long enough to merit the purchase! Now if I can figure out how to fix the trak ball...
  7. Gee, that's really helpful. Already did that and the results weren't exactly conclusive as to what the best controllers actually are. I read that my options were to: 1. Find broken controllers and replace with gold contacts 2. Use a 3rd party stick that works with the 5200 (not a lot out there and not sure what is a fair price for such a thing). 3. Pay out for new ones on Ebay I was hoping someone might just offer me some options for sale. Isn't the the point of putting an ad up under "wanted?" And I did research how to fix the track ball here and took a stab at repairing it. I posted to let folks know that I'm looking to buy a controller...not to solicit sarcasm. God bless you and have a great day.
  8. I just picked up an Atari 5200 and it came only with a slightly defective track ball. I'd be interested in picking up some controllers, but would like ones that work decent. What are my options. Thanks in advance! Amity
