  1. I'll try with the alcohol. It's frustrating! I wish it were as simple as it being a 2600 cart, but def. a CV one.
  2. It's a gray label. ***Edit...I should really post a picture, because I'd mostly call it gray but it has a little bit of a tan hue.
  3. I think you missed the part where it was Frogger II--Threedeeeep........I tried cleaning it, no luck.
  4. I've finally decided I'd like to do this, and I've found instructions for the bootleg controllers here: https://16bitdust.wordpress.com/2014/09/21/cheapo-sega-gamepad-mod/ Wondering if anyone has any additional advice for Amiga/C64 mods for these controllers. I know you have to knock the chip out for 64, but I'm interested in the up-to-button mod as it's pretty awkward to use "up" for jump if you didn't grow up with this (NES was my first). Thanks for any help.
  5. i haven't really seemed to be able to use tude; it crashes my gotek when I try to either boot or transfer the gui to disk. I guess I don't really understand how to use it...I will try Mkick. These Amigas are so finnicky...but I kind of like that.
  6. I recently got a big lot of Coleco stuff locally. It's all pristine, original owners who never let kids play with their stuff (cruel, eh?). One thing I was most interested in was a Frogger 2 cart, but it won't play. I can't figure it out...I can start to get sounds and what look like correct colors, but no game. Any hints? I've tried all I know without disassembly...I don't know what I'm doing at that point. If anyone knows how to repair a wheel unit as well, that would be great.
  7. Excellent! Thanks for your help a ton. I'll have to report my abilities or lack thereof back.
  8. It's been working super well--except for that image. I think I have 2.5, I have a 2MB supra ram.
  9. Unfortunately I don't have a HD, accelerator, and I cooked my ROM switcher (literally caught fire when I was learning what I was doing)...even though I have 2x1.2 and a 2.1 laying around. I think I'll try Tude or MKick...with an image or disk. And then hope for the best!
  10. I've seen a lot of info on this and its copyright protection around the web, but it comes from a wide range of time periods. I'm wondering if anyone has been able to get this game and other EA titles working. I'm running A500 3.1. I loved this game as a kid on DOS but drooled over Amiga. I understand there's a chance of running it with a degrading program? I can't figure out relokick and I'm new to this whole thing. I just figured out what X-Copy is, so I'm getting somewhere! What a help that is.
  11. I just didn't have s chance. Only reason in my case. Will play if there is extension.
  12. Thank you!!!!! The entire project was a success--now have the df0 and the better Agnus, and have successfully booted from Gotek as df0 and switched between PAL and NTSC. Pretty good machine now!
  13. You're a hero. I'd been doing this for some time and your post helped me do this easily. THANKS! Now hopefully I didn't destroy the df0 selector that I broke a pin on and soldered back on (fingers crossed).
  14. I recently installed the licensed 3.1 Kickstarter so I can use DF1 with Gotek (all of this and the machine are new--well, vintage new). I learned pretty quickly that I need a DF0 switcher--that's on the way. However, I'm curious about loading PAL/NTSC...am I correct in that you need a certain Agnus (I'm not sure on the number, but my other 500 has this and this one does not) to be able to select at the boot menu? I'm also not sure if Agnus is socketed--if so, maybe I should just swap the chips. My menu says "press a key to switch between NTSC and PAL," but nothing seems to happen. Once again this is on a FIVE HUNDRED! Thanks, guys. This is quite the journey, but it's already been quite rewarding.
  15. Initial impressions: This game is really cool. Personally, not being a "purist" (and there aren't that many of us anyway on here, right?), I like including the Bally MAME category on here. I know it's true that many of their cabinets used the same kind of chipset. QB2B--this game is super hard to control! I generally think that about Q*Bert in general, though...
  16. STE seems next to impossible to get a hold of compared with, say, Amiga 500. I now have two 500's, and I think that's my baby now. After some research, it seems to me the big advantage to ST is music--which seems, in turn, to be pretty easily overcome on an Amiga. Since I'm a musician (who isn't much into computers/synth stuff), I'm kind of interested to toy with Amiga in that capacity. In the end, I think it would be best for me to stick with one on this machine. There doesn't seem to be the same difference that you see with, say, 800XL vs. C64 vs. Speccy.
  17. OK since nobody has formally ended this, I humbly submit to you my final score. This game really entails a lot of strategy to score points. You have to really focus on capturing the dives in the right order.
  18. I found it to be fun, but brutally unforgiving. I used the standard controller and found it to be a bit difficult with that as well...it's just such a twitchy thing. I was lucky to ever get a score as high as I did!
  19. No objection. These were good games! I'd like another chance as well.
  20. Tried again...improved "regular" score on Invasion and did Outpost 19. I found this to be a spooky game, especially when played at midnight. I let my imagination go and found it (and its sound) to really set a mood of dread. I wasn't very good at it not knowing the map that well, but it's a game that could have been huge back in the day!
  21. I haven't gotten to the BASIC game yet, but I did do the "hard" level (and man is it hard) and the regular on G.I. This game, for a popular title, is damn tough! Best I could do was a little less than roadrunner, but I think I did reasonably well on the level 9 challenge. Should call it suicide mission! I'd like to add how proud I am of my "new" Colortrak 2000 TV that I acquired at Salvation Army for the hefty sum of $5.99. February 1986 manufacture date! I would have been blown away then! Honestly though, what a solid TV still.
  22. I've never done anything like that...wow. That sounds amazing, but I'd have no idea where to start! Sounds like a project to try.
  23. I have a pile of 3-buttons. Do you folks feel that if I were to disable all buttons except for the single, active fire button and the directional pad that the crisis is averted? I have no intention of ever using them on a Genesis.
