  1. An old apple tech note that I can no longer find says this is unsupported and unstable, but some people claim it works fine. Apparently Apple never made a IIc Plus expander? Guess only Applied Engineering made one.
  2. It has to exist. What we wished was built is a whole nother thread altogether!
  3. I would play the heck out of an updated Treasures of Tarmin with a story and keyboard support! I have say, I admire your ambition.
  4. I have always wanted an early Commodore 1802 or CM-141 monitor with the big, round, sexy DIALS on the front. So awesome looking. I check Craigslist and eBay regularly but they are always a fortune. The later 1802s without the dials are boring... I already have a 1084S-P, but in my opinion it just isn't sexy, despite being a better monitor!
  5. My main retro Commodore is 128DCR. I also have a stock original 128 that works, but has a loose fitting case and a messed up RGBI-out port (the wires are there, a new connector needs to be attached, I have just never gotten around to it). In a quest to make space for new acquisitions the original 128 must go. I need to decide is it worth cannibalizing my 128, pulling out ICs and such just in case my 128DCR ever has a failure, or should I just sell the 128?
  6. Infuriatingly neither the disks, manuals, or application have any kind of version number I can find. The AppleWorks that I bought came on both 5.25 and 3.5 inch floppies and I *think* that is version 1.8 or 2.0. Any definitive way to tell?
  7. I was 8 years old in 1985. I asked for a Coleco Adam but received a Commodore 64 instead, likely because it was several hundred dollars less at Kmart (even with the 1541 disk drive and 1702 monitor that was part of the bundle). In retrospect, I am incredibly happy my parents stumbled into buying a Commodore 64. Tons of games, lots of other Commodore users to share programs with. It was incredible. In theory it was our "family" computer, but my parents were absolutely terrified of technology back then, so it became my own :-)
  8. I've been monitoring eBay for ages and have never come across a RAM expansion for my IIc Plus. Any tips on where else I might look?
  9. I believe it displayed better on the poor quality televisions a lot of folks used with their C64s back in the day. This is also why later on the Amiga Workbench had hideous default colors.
