I know what you mean. However, both my Dreamcast and 3DO have had their drives replaced with USB host controllers. They run much better now. Saturn has been 'upgraded' with Phoebe. PS1 has PSIO (or will do). Just need the Mega CD and PCE CD upgraded now. Ohh and the Neo Geo CD. Nearly forgot her...

I feel a bit bad now as I know the exact auction you purchased from and I was the one who contacted the seller to point out his international shipping to the UK was ridiculous (it was about $450). He then changed it to about $65 if I remember rightly? I should of kept my gob shut. I was thinking about buying it - what put me off was the import VAT as he wouldn't use the GSP. I did wonder how the buyer got on with it... Now I know. Poor bugger. Have you managed to find anyone this side of the pond who can fix the duff CD unit for you?
