Anyone here have a PDF of the Antic publishing FLASH terminal? Its a 50pg book.. there is one on Ebay, but rather not pay $20 after shipping if its already out there... Great terminal program now at the 1.6v

Hey - anyone here good with the Arduino coding?? I am not even sure if its a standard language ? C oriented or something??
As many of us have - the Wimodem232 is a fantastic device. Jim Drew has done a great job on it, and is very responsive. His code is his own. I am not arguing that.
I would like to implement some of the features and or straighten out some of the stuff in ZImodem that we have in the WImodem232 - So why dont I just use a Wimodem because I have ESP8266 12f modules that can be used to make your own hardware and Jim will not sell his code (again I understand) but I want to build my own devices like into the modem case above - or a case with my own leds - there are others that make purpose built kits to go into USR Courier cases etc..
The only firmware that is out in the domain to work on is Zimodem - BUT the way he handles incoming or running a BBS is not working with FoReM or ForeSight or Turboboard.. God knows it could be me missing settings, but I have played with it a fair amount and that does not seem to be in. There are some AT commands a bit different than what Jim does in WImodem232 but its VERY close.
ANyone willing to work on the Zimodem firmware with me?

Hello @kenames99 - If you dont mind a question - have you even seen an Express! Cart used in an enhanced Atari 800? I have one with Incognito (so memory or OS is not an issue) but I have not been able to get the cart to get by where it is looking out to a drive to find a config file.. it locks up everytime.
Any help would be awesome.

@Bikerbob -- can you get 80 columns X 24 lines? (Oops, you've already answered that.) This is THE problem that so many folks have with this device. For a few, it works, for most others, it only comes close.
Now being a ST guy, I have a bunch of mono monitors around - that I cant really sell for anything for an ST.. but could I convert the input of the monitor to work with the XEP80?
Never mind read another thread, the 124 is a no go.. and 1224 is not worth the bother either.
SO - guess this is a pita eh?

Funny that this is going.. I just plugged my XEP in for the first time today (new in box)
Looks great on my screen - have not looked into drivers or anything.. I am using XEP80.sys from Spartados 4.49
So is there something better to use?? LOVE this look.

I cant seem to find anything specific on where to look and what to change on the resistors, I know they are ram deselect lines, but no idea where those are.

give it a whirl stay in atascii and issue a known dial address without making a mistake and hit either ctrl-j or ctrl-m and see if it doesn't 'dial'
OK, so that does work, if I TYPE ATDT xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx,1234 ctrl-m -- it dials and connects.
How do I put ctrl-m or ctrl-j in a maco? just that way? if so.. why not replace the dialing suffix to ctrl-m???

Sorry, so you are saying I can access the translation through macros? Should I find a thread you posted this to Kyle?

Ok, so I am reading and learning about the Express cart,
I am using my 8-bits with the UDS-10 device - so I am limited on some things - for example the UDS-10 does not work in Atasci in command mode.
SO I need to dial in ASCII and then switch to ATASCI for my 8-bit calls.
I see there are macros, and I have read some about it.. Wondering is there a way through a macro I could go to the parms change the Translate to Atasci - and then ^M put my user name in and then password etc.. I dont see a way to access commands with macros??

ok, lol... where can I get the Express! Cart manual?
As for the mods.. I will do the Ph2 mod first.. then the resistor mod if still having issues.. they are straight forward.

Wow, last post here by John was June 11 2021!!! OMG, I am just now using my Avatex 1200hc on a regular basis, it is amazing the delays between projects in a hobby such as this.

I am using it tonight on my 1088xel with 1050 drive and 850 to the UDS 10.. SO its the 800.. I will try the ph2 mod.
The other mod I have not looked into yet. Both the 800 and my 1088 are my daily machines (8bit) so I would love if they both worked with it. Bobterm is pretty darn good too though.
I will look back through this thread, but was there ever a manual for this?

I dont think I have this done in my machine with incognito. I got my incog around 2018 - Followed the instructions.. I see this was found much earlier, but not sure the instructions were updated.
I am currently having issues with the Express!Cart.. so this might be an issue I have as well.

as to phi/ras this has always been noted, and there are select resistors to change as well on flakier combinations, I happily have done both and never had a return over such issues.
last issue to consider is a defect in the cartridge itself, so look that over as well.
anyway here's a quick two second AA search, certainly there are better write ups but this is the gist of it.
claus b also mentions the resistors... do both and you should be bullet proof from the 800's stand point... incognito updates often help with everything else.
I always update the firmware, I am on the latest.. I have never had any issue with the 800 outside of this .. it works fantastic, as for the cart.. it works in the 800xl on the Sio2pc using the APE modem. no issues.

pss - found the thread, read it, I dont think I did it. Unless it was in updated incognito install directions. I got mine around 2018

WELL - figured I would put it here, since it will be Bikerbob's BBS until I get the bugs worked out, BUT I did find ///Turbo Board ST 2.20 - and it works!!!
Now I still have no manual for this either.. All these things 30 years removed and no other sysops around are hard to figure out without a manual.
Nice thing is ///Turbo Board ST is based on FoReM ST - to use it, you would be sure it is FoReM ST - but things are different - the Author who was FoReM STs last maintainer is William J. Miller, sometimes written as John Miller. He is also the author of DDST that a lot of our boards have as a DOOR game. I have had no luck finding this person or anyone associated with Turbo board is 2022/3 and I have looked. This guy lived and operated his support BBS not 10miles from me. OH well.
So I will continue to work - right now I am working on the MODEM ( I am using my Zimodem ESP8266 Avatex 1200hc
) I think I am having CTS/RTS issues.. I will ask in another thread about that.

OK, I have a 800 incognito I have an 850 to a UDS-10 then to either a S-Drive Max for disk access. OR I could do a tower of Floppy drives I have.
I know this system works, because I have used it successfully with BOBTERM loaded from the S-Drive Max. SO its an issue with how the Express cart is using.
As for the Profile on the 800 - see attached photos - I have tried with SpartaDos and with disk based MyDos or Dos 2.5 etc..
) I think I am having CTS/RTS issues.. I will ask in another thread about that.

If its the big 50 pager, cover looks like this.. It was the only printed manual - the others were text files included with the updates on disk.
Can you scan it Ron? I would really like to read it!
