  1. Interesting, searching for CALL FILES in the forum I found out that CALL FILES(0) is a Classic99 only command.
  2. I ran the following code on both metal TI and Classic 99 with different results: 10 A=A+8 20 GOSUB 10 RUN After the memory full error, I get this. TI BASIC (metal) - PRINT A = 14536 - (PEB unplugged) TI BASIC (Classic 99) = 12448 TI BASIC (Classic 99) = 13480 - After CALL FILES(1) - > NEW ~1-2K bytes difference. Could someone explain why?
  3. Thank you all for the update. I have version 8.2a but wanted to share the download link through a Youtube video I am planning to record. The downloads on whtech.com/ are very old and need to be updated.
  4. Is it me, or is the link to the TI99Dir application broken? www.ti99-geek.nl
  5. After further testing, that's exactly how I would describe the problem I encountered with DM2K.
  6. Thanks for the link. It's a great program; takes me back to the PC MS-DOS days.
  7. Ah! I figured it out. I had to map the Text to Speech TIPI subdir to DSK4 and then copy from DSK4 to the floppy on DSK1. Seems that the DM2K program does not handle long addresses well.
  8. After a few months of inactivity, I decided to fire up my PEB with TIPI and play around transferring files from TIPI to DSK1 using DM2k version 3.4. Originally, I wanted to make a floppy with the Text to Speech files I have on my TIPI, but for some reason, I am not even able to copy any file from TIPI to the floppy on DSK1. The floppy was successfully formatted using the DM2k tool with no errors. I am able to load and run the program files from the TI console using the OLD TIPI.. command, so I know TIPI is working and the files are not corrupt. What am I doing wrong here? I have attached a photo with the error.
  9. Extended BASIC (XB). It also covers speech synthesis using the Speech Synthesizer/XB and XB with the Text-to-Speech Disk.
  10. I checked with the owner of the domain to see if I could add some of my Dsk files but that page is no longer updated. Everything is supposed to be in the Internet Archive. Personally I find the Internet Archive to be somewhat disorganized. The folks at tiuc have been doing an amazing job.
  11. Yep, Carlos Santiago is an awesome guy! Wonder what Carlos and Charlie have in common.😁
  12. Yes, and I actually searched the tiuc database before working on this project but could not find anything related to the book. I said, if these folks don't have this on the Internet, then it doesn't exist! 😀. Feel free to use and add it to the tiuc website.
  13. I just uploaded a PDF copy of Compute!'s Guide to TI-99/4A Sound and Graphics with the book's programs on two DSK files to use on Classic 99. I was obsessed trying to find the complete digital versions of the programs but was only able to find two or three out there, so I decided to copy the programs directly from the book and debug the OCR errors myself. The OCR was acceptable in most cases; most errors were lowercase l/i/1 confusion, lowercase o/0 errors, interpreting W as V7, changing the $ to S among others. Good practice and I had some fun playing the games. I tested the programs to the best of my abilities, hopefully they are bug free, but I do not guarantee it; that's my disclaimer. Here's the link: Compute!'s Guide to TI-99/4A Sound and Graphics
  14. I have added the contents to the Internet Archive! https://archive.org/details/zappers_202103/Zappers Cover.JPG
  15. I have added the contents to the Internet Archive! https://archive.org/details/ti-games-for-kids/GameskidsCover.JPG
  16. Added to the Internet Archive for posterity ?! https://archive.org/details/computes-first-book-of-ti-games
  17. I collected and prepared the attached DSK files of all the program listings from the book: First Book of TI Games. (Compute! Book Publications) I found these programs on the Internet Archive (https://archive.org/search.php?query=subject%3A"ti99"&and[]=mediatype%3A"software"&page=1). Great memories! 18. Attached is the Zappers DSK file with all 23 programs. I remember many of those games from my early TI-99 days. I remembered Flip-A-Disk, Qubic, Lander, and Snazzle. ZAPPERS.dsk
  19. I know where to find it. Will post the entire DSK collection later. Thanks for sharing.
  20. Awesome, I found all 23 Zapper programs on the Internet Archive (https://archive.org/search.php?query=source%3A(zappers)) They all include a program listing, I just organize them into a DSK. I'll open a separate thread for each book.
  21. Keep 'em coming. I've just completed the entire First Book of TI Games; I grabbed those programs from the Internet Archive so it was just play testing, and very little debugging. I organized the program files and sent them in DSK format to the TI-99/4A Home Computer Book Archive; hopefully it'll eventually be shared to the community. (http://www.hexbus.com/tibooks/) . I'll be working on Zappers (Henry Mullish and Dov Kruger) and later I'll continue with Games for Your TI-99/4A (Andrew Nelson). Those are two easy pickins.
  22. I debugged, cleaned, and updated all the programs on this thread and saved them as a Zip file collection that I've attached here. Only two of the 37 programs I changed were free of some sort of typo or formatting glitch. I may have missed a few bugs here and there though. Most issues were OCR related, (0 instead of O, l instead of 1, W instead of VV, 8 and 3 and B confusion, and a few others). A few changes were about missing spaces between quotes. I enjoyed fixing them, it was good practice, and now all programs should be hopefully, bug free. I play tested them to the best of my abilities, entering right, wrong answers, crazy answers, just to see all possible results. The games are nice and enjoyable. 23. I made the following changes: 282 FOR N=1 TO 2 284 L(N)=0 286 NEXT N 860 CALL HCHAR(OLDR(N),OLDC(N),32) 890 IF (R(N)=1)+(R(N)=23)THEN 920 1060 IF (K=89)+(K=121)THEN 1090 1090 CALL CLEAR 1100 GOTO 250 and removed the following lines: 230 L(N)=0 910 IF UP(N)=R(N)THEN 960 950 UP(N)=R(N) The program was not resetting the number of laps after each round. I changed it so 1)it would reset laps won and 2)you would be forced to select the number of laps every time you decide to play again.
  24. Some Corrections: 150 PRINT TAB(8);"PROBLEM";J:: 220 GOTO 180 680 IF K=1 THEN 710 690 N(K)=N(K-1)+N(K-2) 990 N(K)=X^3 1780 N(8)=5
