  1. Wow, that was easy! Do you have any idea if the documentation on how to use it is available online?
  2. So 3-4 years ago, I had began researching online for a converter that would allow me to use a 2600 joystick (or any other controller with the same adapter) on a 5200 console. I eventually found the device pictured here.... but I literally cannot remember who and where I bought it from. It came with documentation explaining how to use it, and most likely included a name. But unfortunately, I cannot seem to find said documentation. I tried a Reverse Image search as well, but Google thought it was a picture of a bag I had given up on using it shortly afterwards. I was going through my collection today and found it, so maybe you guys can help me solve this mystery?
  3. So I am officially a proud owner of an Atari Lynx II! I've always wanted one of these bad boys, no matter the model. But I got this one, along with a carrying case, some games, and the AC adapter for a great deal! I just booted it up to play some good ol' Pac-Land, and it was awesome! Only one problemo, though..... There are these lines on the screen. I assume the LCD went bad in some way. It doesn't make playing impossible or anything, but it's a hindrance nonetheless. I'm just going to assume, as well, that the only way to fix it is by replacing the screen. I am willing to pay for a screen repair! Thank You, and remember to always ask your self: "Have you played Atari today?"
  4. As I stated in my previous post, I tried literally every single suggestion. I scrubbed the head at least 5 times. From watching my own video, I feel as if it's not reading the whole entire disk and staying in a single spot, therefore unable to read all the information stored on the disk.
  5. I know what you mean, don't worry! I also noticed that the track sensor, which the head is obviously attached to, isn't moving at all during reading-time. The thing is though, if I push the track sensor all the way forward while the Drive is turned off, then turn it on, the track sensor moves all the way backwards! So clearly the mechanism works..... it just doesn't make any sense! :/
  6. Hey everybody. After following every single suggestion posted here, with all three different games, nothing has changed. The belts are fine. Everything inside is completely fine. So it's either all three games fall under the bad media category...... or this drive is just kaput EDIT: Decided to film a video for you guys. What happens in the video is what happens every time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74tNLw8PQ80
  7. Hey all, so I have an 800XL that was generously given to me by a friend who owns a VG store. Along with it, he gave me the Atari 1025 Printer, and the Atari 1050 Disk Drive (Both which are still in box!) I've bought some cartridge games for the 800XL, and it works great! Eventually, I decided why not order some floppy games, since I have a Disk Drive with the SIO cable and power supply? I got Zaxxon, Gauntlet, and Ballblazer. I was so excited to finally hook the Disk Drive up and get a taste of some real nostalgia. Unfortunately though, all three games ended up giving me the same problem. The Drive itself seems to be functioning properly. I put the Disk in with both the 800XL and DD turned off, then I turn on the DD and the power LED and disk-reading LED come on. I wait until the reading LED turns off, then I turn on the 800XL. It boots, the reading LED turns on and I can hear the disk being spun, and eventually, I get a nice big "BOOT ERROR" on the screen, accompanied by a beep. After 4-5 seconds, it repeats, and so on. All three of the games instruction manuals said that doing what I did should boot the games up just fine. But sadly, the three of them will not boot up. I really wanted to play them too So, any ideas? I'm not going to simply get rid of the games, as the boxes are pretty damn awesome looking in my shelf .
  8. Yessssssssssssss! This is so exciting! It seems I arrived just in time
  9. Sorry for the double post, but it's for a good reason (I swear!) Steve emailed me 3 hours ago (11:54 PM EST) letting me know that the item will ship through USPS in the morning!!! He said the item was back-ordered. So a mod can now close, delete, or leave this thread to rot
  10. Yeah, AA doesn't have Crystal Castles. ATARIMAX and Good Deal Games has it for sale on their websites, and that's it. It's a homebrew conversion of the Atari 8-bit version. I actually ordered Zippy the Porcupine from the AA store 5 days ago, and haven't heard anything since besides the obvious Order Confirmation email. I didn't post this with the idea that ATARIMAX wasn't legit, but I appreciate further cementing it for the sake of my sanity! Haha I had read a good amount of testimonials before I ordered, and with all the stuff he has on his website, I got good vibes immediately. Thanks for the info, if he's busy with family I hope he's having a great time. If it's business, well, then good luck to him
  11. So, I ordered Crystal Castles for the 5200 off of the ATARIMAX website. It's one of my favorite arcade games of all time, and although I own the 2600 version, it's much different from the arcade (due to obvious limitations.) I would have bought a copy for my 800XL, but the only one on eBay is like $80. I found the ATARIMAX website and was thrilled to see there was an 8-bit family conversion for the 5200! I ordered it right away. Only problem is, I ordered it on June 22nd. Since then, I haven't gotten it. After a week, I grew concerned and actually emailed Steve himself. Unfortunately though, I haven't heard back from him. I know I paid for it, because the payment is on my debit card statement. I've been dying to play it, so so badly. But nothing. I know Steve is trustworthy, and I'm not afraid I was ripped off. I was just curious if he takes a long time to ship things? I'm a patient person, but I seriously love Crystal Castles so much. All I want is to be able to play it on my 5200, and proudly display it on my shelf
  12. Would love to have this on a cart as well! It looks miles and miles better than the original 5200 port. It's amazing what can really be done with these machines
  13. Oh believe me. I'm fully aware of the disease. When I was younger, I was a HUGE collector. I had tons of stuff, and I was very proud of it. Unfortunately, I had gotten very bad with drugs..... and I sold 80% of my collection. For years, I stopped collecting entirely. Selling nearly everything I had was a huge mistake, and I will regret it for the rest of my life. Eventually, I got clean, and became really good friends with someone who was opening up a new video game store where I lived at the time. He now has a store that has quadruple the amount of space the original store had, and he's very thankful that I've been with him since the beginning. He actually gave me an Atari 800XL, a 1025 Atari Printer, and a 1050 Atari Disk Drive... for free! He also gives me great deals, since I've started collecting again. Wow, a lot of personal stuff there. Not the best place to properly introduce myself, but I figured I would share it Thanks for all the replies guys. I will most likely get a flashcart from ATARIMAX when I have more than enough funds
  14. This would be amazing! Like I said, I really hope there is another run of the SGM coming soon. I feel as if I have missed out on soooo much cool stuff I want it all!
  15. Yeah, I am aware of the flash carts offered by AtariMAX! I actually ordered Crystal Castles for the 5200 from the site over a week ago! Unfortunately, a flash cart is a lot of money and I just don't have the funds at the moment :/
