      I miss Jim.

    3. SlidellMan

@joeatari1 Same here, and his brand of irreverence would never be allowed on film and television nowadays.

    4. SlidellMan

Here he is on Good Morning America.

  2. It's about time that someone covered the theme to The Battle Base Meteor:

There's just something about the original game's OST that hits the spot.

  3. Excellent demo, Muddy. By the way, I consider Shadow of the Beast III to be the most playable of the original trilogy, but that's just me.
  4. Wow, in addition to being a talented 6502C programmer, you are also excellent at hardware engineering.
  5. Unpopular and Controversial Opinions Volume 7.

-The only good movie from Seth Rogen is Sausage Party.

-Chris Chibnell should never been put in charge of Doctor Who.

-Ocean's Addams Family Values game for the Super NES and Genesis/Mega Drive was the best Addams Family game.

-Yoshinori Ono may be a nice guy and pretty funny, but he is not a good game designer.

-Atlus should consider rereleasing the IOS versions of Shin Megami Tensei I, II, and If... on the eShop, GoG, Steam, etc.

-Trey Parker and Matt Stone should seriously make another feature film.

-Scott McNeil is still the best at voicing Dr. Wily. (Ditto for Protoman, Eddie, Lord Raptor, Rikuo, Anakaris, Ken Masters and Blanca.)

-All-Star Superman was the best Superman comic in the past 20 years. (As a whole.)

-Howard Chaykin needs to leave Twitter behind.

-I think Reba West got a bad rap for her take on Suiseiseki.

I like almost all Seth Rogen movies I've seen,  but to each his own...I still laugh at Superbad just thinking about it...

  6. I'd rather keep the grid. To change the scrolling to something smoother would tamper with the game's soul.
  7. Asteroite has finally been streamed:

@phoboz @Songbird That was for you.

      If I had a Jag...

BTW is that you on the video, SlidellMan?

  8. Unlocking the Namco N163 sound chip:

Too bad that Bandai Namco is never going to make a VST instrument iteration of their WSG chip.

  9. Friendly reminder that the St. Tammany Hamburger Festival is coming up this weekend.

Think of this as fun for the whole family.

With that out of the way, more Cowboy Cooking!

  10. Wow, it has been twenty years since Morrowind was released.

    1. GoldLeader

...And 22 years since Dude, Where's My Car?

      Time flies huh?

    2. BydoEmpire

Morrowind is one of my top 5 games of all times.

    3. GoldLeader

And Dude Where's My Car? is easily in my favorite 652 movies of all time!

  11. Here's the cancelled Christmas episode to New Cutey Honey:

"All right, it's time to change."

  13. Here are some classic New Orleans commercials, as well as Lafayette, Pineville, Alexandria, etc.

As a bonus, here's a Delchamps commercial montage:

    1. Zoyous

Wow, I remember my friend from New Orleans describing that Frankie & Johnny's furniture ad to me!

  14. If you guys need any font work, I can help if needed.
  15. It is still baffling that Taito never ported this to the Wii. (Perhaps with Space Gun, Operation Wolf, Thunderbolt, and Operation Wolf 3.)
  16. Now this is quite fascinating: https://duke4.net/duke-nukem-forever-2001-content-4chan-leak/ Judging from the footage and screenshots, this actually looks like fun and it's pitiful that George Broussard decided not to finish this. Hat tip goes to Spawn Wave for mentioning this. It's at the 8:04 mark.
  17. Mundaun, a pencil-drawn, first-person adventure:

  18. I think Froggo (only two good games), Tiertex (their port of the JVC Star Wars to the SMS/GG was one of the only good things they did), Micronics (their only good game was Spriggan Powered), and Micronet come to mind. Seriously, Acclaim and Titus have nothing on them. At least the former had Turok, Extreme G, Stargate, Iggy's Reckin' Balls, and Judge Dredd (SNES & Genesis/MD); the latter had Ardy Lightfoot (Underrated) and the Prehistorik franchise.
  19. I will say this about the PC-Engine/TurboGrafx-16 version of Shadow of the Beast: It was the best version of that game as far as gameplay and fun are concerned. I also agree with what @electricmastro has said about the music.
  20. Here's a video of Iggy's Reckin' Balls. Here's the Soundtrack, which still holds up to this very day:
  21. Here's quite a few English translations for various HuCard games: https://pce.cabbage.cx/ I'm glad that there are people translating these games, and the TG-16/PC-E has no shortage of translation hacking material.
  22. RIP George Perez:

    1. doctorclu

Yeh I wished him well a month ago and let him know he would be missed.  I love his art.   Especially what he did for the Swordquest series.

  23. Don't you find it a bit sad that Robocop Vs. The Terminator (SNES) is one of the only games from Bethesda that isn't buggy? Then again, it helped that it didn't have the massive size and scope of the Elder Scrolls series.

    1. SlidellMan

Video of the game in question.

  24. Wow, that conversion looks excellent. What's next, ports of Curse of Issyos and Attack of the PETSCII Robots?
  25. Here's a fascinating indie adventure game from Torple Dook that can be best described as Blue's Clues meets Harvester: Steam Link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1437500/Dread_X_Collection_3/&v=3LrmeAaX8HU
