  1. Wow, thats just so obnoxious its funny. $229 for a handheld and it makes you watch commercials. That'll go over well......
  2. I screw it into an old vcr than have the vcr plugged into a multisystem switch via component and have all the component capable systems plugged intoi the switch individually. That way I can have all my stuff set up at the same time. You dont even need to do that though, just get an old vcr, turn the vcr off when youre not playing games and you can watch tv, the vcr doesnt even have to work.
  3. Despite being badged as a TRS 80, the CoCo isnt quite the same as a real TRS 80. The TRS 80 used a z80 processor andteh CoCo used a motorola of some sort. I found a CIB CoCo2 myself a while back at a thrift shop, but it didnt have any carts or drives with it so its useless for the moment.
  4. I might just do that. The label on the R6 cart is pretty dirty, but I'd still be coming out ahead, and I'd be liberating a rare cart from a guy who is careless enough to let his consoles get sticky, and still go the Ebay route to buy a new 2600. On a side note, wow, my typing sucks.
  5. Well, I bought an Atari console off of a guy that came in the store I work at needing money last week. It was a vader, one CX40 with the obligatory bite mark on the stick, and about 40 games. It was all pretty grubby, most of the labels are in poor condition, ans aside form one rarity 5 cart, I Want My Mommy, they were all 1s and 2s. only about 15 of with I didnt already have. He asked 35 bucks so I bought it. Not really sure how good a deal it was. Bit I can't get my 7800 to work with paddles, so I've been wanting a new console. Anyway, I took it home, disassembled it and gave the case a good hot shower and cleaned it up so it looked like new. Then today he comes back in the store asking about buying it back. And said he'd give me $50 bucks. My question is, was my $35 dollars a good deal, and would it be a good deal for me to take the $50 and just count myself 15 bucks ahead and continue my search for a new console.
  6. sorta..... http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~pinwhiz/famicom.htm scroll to the bottom of that page Its actually for the famicom (japanese version of the NES)
  7. I wanted that nes themed gba, but the wait was too much for me, i broke down and got a two tone black and silver gba last week. You wont find me buying those old nes games though, i bought a flash cart and use an emulator for that. It was 70 bucks for the flash cartridge, but you can fit la couple hundred nes games on it, depending on the games, megaman 6 takes up more space than donkey kong obviously.
  8. I recently built my own joystick for mame out of xarcade parts. Yes, they use microswitches and they have that clicking noise, but frankly, i like the microswitches. I haven't had any problem playing Pac-Man, I play pac Jr all the time with it. But if the 8 way operaqtion does annoy you, they are switchable sticks, you just you just take a bushing off of the bottom of the stick and turn it around and its works as a 4 way stick. If you build your own, they are considerably cheaper than happs. I was looking at paying 13 bucks per stick and 2 bucks per button from happs, but i got 2 sticks and 20 buttons as a bundle type deal from xarcade for 20 bucks.
  9. Looks like these may be boards that were never finished. I dont see any roms on them. I don't know if they would really be worth anything but it would certainly be something cool to have. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...bayphotohosting
  10. before you replace the connector, take it out and clean it well woth a toothbrush and alchohol and if teh pins seem to have gotten too flat you can even bend them back up a little with a small pick or screwdriver. I was on teh verge of buying a new connector myself but a little cleaning got it working again.
  11. Well, i dont think ill be going that route, shipping was 20 bucks, that doubled the cost of the console. I guess ill make do with my plain old nes till i find a better deal.
  12. I was thinking more along these lines. http://www.gamersgraveyard.com/repository/...clones-A-M.html most of those are pal though, but i did find one ntsc comnsole that is made to look like a ps2 http://www.success-hk.com/pp/item_detail.a...8-AEB76E1E30F8} they also had the tristar 64, but its out of stock. Im just a little hesitant to order form a company based in HK. I wonder how long that would take to ship.
  13. I've become a little fascinated with Pirate consoles and was thinking about looking for one for myself. I'm not talking about the super joy or whatever that have the games built in, but real consoles that accept cartridges. I was just curious about how easy they are to find and how much I should expect to pay. I used to see these sorts of things on Ebay, but that was a long time ago before i was really into classic games.
  14. wow..................................(that was the sound of me being speechless)
  15. i assume it counts as long as its the 2600 cartridge in the 7800 console. I dont own a 2600 either, ive been switching back and forth between my 7800 and pcae for screenshots.
