  1. well out of this world and flashback certainly aren't side scrolling shooting games, and it wasn't the graphics that were ground breaking it was the way the game played and the animation, basically the whole concept of them. they really aren't a lot like anything else thats been made before or since. the games are very well animated and you have to solve your way through a lot of the game, although there is action as well, but they certainly aren't your average mindlesss button pressers(not to knock those types of games though because i like them as well!). but for a good portion of the game you must rely on your own resoucrefulness and awarness of your surroundings and be able to use objects around you to make progress in the game. for example the opening stage you have no weapons and you are being stalked by a beast that you must out smart to get past. you don't find a weapon untill later in the game. here is a link you can find some more info at: http://www.the-underdogs.org/game.php?id=2345
  2. the jag version could really be the redemption for the somewhat rushed heart of the alien that was only released on the segacd! the first game(out of this world) was brilliant and it deserves a worthy sequel.(not that the segacd heart of the alien was bad, it was just FAR to short)
  3. wow, looks great guys. please keep us posted on this, mario on the 7800 is exactly what i would like to see happen! so how are things coming along for it?
  4. anyone know of any other sites with information on this game aside from cyberoach's?
  5. wow!, i just noticed out of this world (or another world as its listed and known outside the US) was scheduled for release on the jag. has this prototype been uncovered or released to the public? anyone know how far along it was in development? anyone know if this included the follow up "heart of the alien" along with it?

    atari panther

no, if i remember correctly this wasn't a drawing of the jaguar, but in fact it was a drawing of the panther, and i think it was the same drawing(or one very similar) up at the AEX site if my memory serves me correctly. and in the same article they revealed that the panther was no longer in development and that atari were now putting all thier efforts behind the jag, and they printed a drawing of the jag as well.

    atari panther

hmm... previously unreleased? i distincly remember seeing mock ups of the "next generation atari console" in an old issue of egm or maybe gamepro way back when. anyone else recall this?
  8. does the atari panther exist in prototype form? any of them uncovered as of yet?
  9. hmmm... ive just noticed transtronics site states that the pocket programmer will not work with windows ME, however i downloaded the demo software and its seems to work just fine, anyone tried using a PP under windows ME?
  10. ok, so no knowledge of bank switching is needed then correct?, even for bankswitched 7800 games, just load the .bin to the buffer and then program it, is that correct?
  11. looks like pocket programmer is a good choice, but can someone with no previous experience with an eprom programmer OR with a hex editor use this effectively? is any knowledge at all of bankswitching needed for programming?, or is it as simple as loading a .bin and burning it?
  12. will you break up the lot, or are you only selling these together?
  13. care to post a pic of one of them?
  14. you have a color version of the b&w label, or the color picture label?
  15. did you find these in the public market?
  16. hmmm... ive just noticed a difference in two choplifter game labels. one has the writing at the bottom of the face label written in italics and the other written in normal type, also the one in italics has the "tm" next to "7800" printed in red ink and the other is printed in black. also the text on the end label is alligned differently between the two of them. i've noticed ms pacman has the italics variation as well, any other 7800 game have these differences?
  17. i've heard the 7800 was released in limited amounts in '84, were any of the games released to the public then as well? do they all have the colored labels? also roughly how scarce are the '84 7800 systems and are the older boxes with rescue on fractalus pictured on the front the earlier '84 systems?
  18. but then, pal on an ntsc tv might not look all that great
  19. i suppose you could also use this to convert the pal to ntsc for your tv: http://chipzone.com/shop/showdetl.cfm?&Use...t_ID=229&DID=12 just convert the rf out from your 7800 to av and then put the av into the playstaion end plug(i'm assuming that's an av plug)
  20. ok ive viewed some of these ppm files with irfanview but i dont see any graphic editing tools in irfanview, is there any way to edit the graphics with it? if not, are there any programs out there i can use to edit the graphics in the ppm file? which would you recommend?
  21. anyone who's played it remember if it uses a pokey chip?
  22. I know that several people in the 7800 community have offered to help get it working but as far as I'm aware none of the offers were taken up on. Too bad, because the 7800 could use more games. Mitch it would be great to see this game followed through and finally on cartridge, based on the screenshots on AA this is hands down the best looking 7800 game. are there any other screenshots known available?
  23. anyone know if this game uses the pokey chip for sound?
  24. also who is TNT games? were they programming this game for atari, or were they planning releasing this title themselves? any info on why this was never released? the title screen looks fantastic, and the other screenshots look impressive as well.
  25. can you tell me how i can get in touch with him? i can't find any contact info for him.
