  6. There can be a lot of things but most common ones for this behavior can be faulty floppy drive or oxidation on socketed chips. Disconnect floppy and try to boot. It usually takes longer to boot without floppy but might work. Carefully pull socketed chips and make sure that there is no excessive oxidation on chip legs and sockets. Do you get any bombs on the white screen? K.

  11. All I got to say is sorry to see it happen. There are not too many Atari STE’s around left and we lose them to brain-less people. To sweet up your grief I could buy from you keyboard and TOS if it is 2.06. PM sent. THX Kris
  12. there should be 2 plastic clips (arrows pointing) that will hold metal rod. Also if any button does not come up once you press it then rubber cup is busted inside keyboard. For your floppy drive problem sounds like mechanical problem. Hard to answer without taking it apart. when my floppy quit working i replaced it with Gotek. Got one cheap from China and flashed with HxC. Kris

  15. Hi, I need some help with my Atari Mega STE. I recently got MSTE in non-working condition. Replaced PS and computer came to live. After a few power cycles computer booted (from hard drive) to “XTRON” game. I want to get into TOS screen and I do not know how. Here is what I tried so far: 1. Disconnected HD – Computer boots to TOS 2.05 both floppy and garbage icons present. Floppy drive is reading floppy content. 2. Press “Alt” as manual instructed during boot up (HD connected) – I get to TOS but only garbage icon present – no floppy or HD. I can add floppy drive icon through menu but it does not recognize floppy drive. 3. Created floppy system disk got it from http://www.atari.org/services/systemdisks.php(Atari Mega STe with Hard Drive Language Disk, English-US, Revision A) it looks like computer does not boot from floppy. I get the same think as described in 2. There are 3 dip switches on HD controller (C103561-001 REV.3) they are all in ON position. Any help greatly appreciated. Thank you. Kris U.
