    EMS or XMS! Which do you prefer?

      Doesn't XMS support emulation of EMS, while EMS doesn't emulate XMS? Otherwise I can't say I have a favorite. The one that has most software support I suppose, but if can emulate one with the other, the superset one would be my choice.

      That is correct. XMS can emu EMS. EMS is historically important because it was a ridiculous kludge and yet so much early software used it.
