  1. Where's the Atari 50 game? It's already been a month since the game got released and I can't find it on the Atari VCS store! The Atari company themselves has advertised on their website that it would also be available on their Atari VCS console! What am I missing here?
  2. I've obsessed about the SwordQuest series for years ever since I played the 3 games on my Atari Anthology collection! Sure the games themselves weren't that great in practice, but the history behind it as well as the story from the comic books made the whole thing quite fascinating! Heck, I still occasionally play those 3 games simply for the nostalgia! It helps that I still have my walkthrough guides I've created from my days in middle school!
  3. Does anyone know how to get the game "Concentration" to work on my Ataribox? I tried to play that game on the Atari VCS Vault app that came with the console, but none of my Ataribox controllers work for that particular game in the vault. Do I need a particular controller? What am I missing here?

  5. I just saw a news notification about the Air Raid auction on my phone just recently! That's some serious news there! That cartridge would make an excellent addition to my Atari cartridge collection!
  6. My first video game I believe I ever played in my life was Asteroids the arcade game by Atari. I played it on my parent's old Windows 98 desktop computer they used to have in the basement back in my first house I lived in 2 decades ago. I didn't really know how to really play it back then however because all I did was intentionally crash my ship into the Asteroids over and over again. It was my first experience with the classics and my introduction to the Atari brand to begin with. My personal favorite of all the arcade games Atari created was Missile Command! I remember the first time I played it, I couldn't figure out how to fire the anti-ballistic missiles to defend my cities. But then I discovered that the z, x, and c keys were the keys used for the anti-ballistic missile bases. That finally allowed me to progress in the game. What especially made it special were the rumors that you fight a UFO in a particular version of Missile Command. I loved the concept of fighting off and destroying an alien ship that tried to destroy your cities and saving the world from an invasion. I even finally managed to find a Missile Command game where there were two bosses you could fight overall in the game (you can access them early in the main menu regardless of whether you even played the game yet or not). Unfortunately, I couldn't figure out how to defeat the bosses so I always lost to them and I don't know the name of the Missile Command game that had those two bosses, so now I can't even get a second chance to beat them. The first boss was a UFO spaceship that descended toward the cities, fired some missiles or something, and then flew away after it destroyed your cities. The second boss (which was the final level of the game funny enough) was a weird sun look-alike creature with an eye that shot laser shots at your cities. Other than those details, I can't remember the rest of the game. Lastly were the Swordquest games. The Swordquest games were the games that actually lead me to a particular website called AtariProtos. The first time I played those games was when I was in middle school. I had the Atari Anthology collection for the PS2 containing a bunch of different Atari arcade games and Atari 2600 titles Atari made over the years. I remember first playing FireWorld, not really knowing what I was doing. But then when I read the manual for the game, I realized I was supposed to play EarthWorld first. So I read the instructions for that game and tried my luck at beating the first game in the Swordquest series. Unfortunately, even after I read the manual, the farthest I ever got in EarthWorld (and by extension, the entire series) was obtaining the first two clues and one of those clues didn't even require placing any items anywhere to begin with. So I decided to consult the internet to help me with the game. After reading about the game on Wikipedia, I discovered Tempest's AtariProtos website which gave a review of the entire Swordquest series. It was quite fascinating! I didn't even know the games were part of a big contest back in the early 80's. I would've enjoyed something like that if I was born before the 80's. I did eventually defeat all 3 games thanks to the help of some walkthroughs I found on Google, including a Youtube video that provided details on how to beat EarthWorld. But AtariProtos was what got me interested in Atari's history to begin with. Since then, I've read every Atari 2600 prototype review on that website, including some games that never got released back then, some of which I actually played on an Atari Flashback 2 I once got for my birthday (like Saboteur, for example). I even checked out the Atari 7800 section of the website too, which lead me to getting my own Atari 7800 console for Christmas about 5 years ago.
  7. I was playing E.T. for the Atari 2600 on an emulator hosted by virtualatari.org when I came across a strange glitch while playing it. For some reason, ET does not lose energy while moving, walking or running. This has never happened to me before when I played that game on that same website. What's going on there?
  8. Probably wouldn’t be surprised if that were the case. Kaboom on the Activision Anthology collection suffers from a few serious emulation bug that’s incredibly noticeable. Once you press the X button, the Mad Bomber always continues dropping bombs, whether you are holding the button or not, even after you start a new game. Even worse, the buckets don’t stay in the same place if you stop moving them, instead automatically moving back to the center of the screen, essentially making the game impossible to advance. It’s a real shame too because Kaboom was my favorite Activision title for the 2600 back then. I remember back then how much I played that game on Activision Classics on the PS1 just trying to reach 1000 points on the game. It was by far my favorite game of the entire collection growing up.
  9. I was playing the game on Activision Anthology for the PS2. Another thing I should probably mention is that the glitch stops happening when I start a new game.
  10. So I was playing Robot Tank on Activision Anthology to celebrate the game (it is October 2019 after all) when suddenly I discovered something rather annoying. For some reason, sometimes when I back up for a while to retreat from the enemy, suddenly a buzzer sounds and my tank stops going backwards. That part isn’t too bad, but after I stop pressing down and not move the direction pad anywhere, suddenly, the tank starts moving forward all by itself without me even commanding the tank to do that and I can’t stop the tank from moving forward unless I move the direction pad down, which prevents it from moving at all but does not prevent the tank from moving forward if I let go (not to mention it makes the buzzing noise and I still can’t go backwards during the whole thing either). I suspect it’s a bug in the game, but I don’t know what to make of this.
  11. This is it! October 2019, the time of the events of Robot Tank, has arrived! Three cheers for Activision for creating this amazing Atari 2600 game! I think I know what I’ll be doing this month to celebrate!
  12. An Atari 2600 OS I can run on my 7800 console? My life is complete!
  13. Here's my score for Stampede. I know at this point I'll have to buy the patches, but just for show, I just wanted to show how I did:
  14. Thanks for giving me some recommendation on where to get them. I’ll consider getting them in the future.
  15. I just scored 20 points on game 3 of Freeway and I'd like to get a patch for accomplishing that! Where do I submit my screenshot of the game? Here's the screenshot I made:
