  1. The 2 homebrews I recently got are Amoeba Jump & Robot City. I like them both. They work fine on the 2600+ with the default firmware. It seems like any 2600 homebrew that has a cart size of 4K works on the 2600+. Because I have 3 homebrews now with that file size and there are no issues. Amoeba Jump is a fun little platformer. It's addicting to jump on the platforms and trying to get a high score. Robot City is a good maze shooter. I know that JetmanUK & Dr Karnov will like that game. I got pretty far in it. I made it to level 19. Not sure how many levels there are. I think it goes on forever until you run out of lives. There are 5 game modes. I played on game mode 1. Overall these 2 homebrews are great additions to the collection.
  2. My 2 homebrew games arrived today. I'll test them out later to see how they are.
  3. I got Robotron for the 7800 loose. The price wasn't too high. It is ridiculous how much these 7800 games are going for now. That's why it's good that Atari is bringing out the re-releases at a reasonable cost. I think $30 is the sweet spot. No reason to pay more. Also, with the re-releases you get the game complete with the box and manual which is nice.
  4. Who you gonna call? As for a homebrew version, I'm not sure.
  5. I would say Food Fight. Because that one is the most fun to me. It has good replay value.
  6. I bought the 2600+ because I never had an Atari 2600 before. I did have the Atari FB 9 but that is a plug and play. For me, it's nice to have an actual replica that plays original carts. It's fun to collect the different games. I have a few in the collection. With more to add. Also, I'm glad Atari is re-releasing games again. Hopefully they come out with some newer titles as well.
  7. I have Dig Dug on the 2600. I like the way the graphics look on it. There's something about it. The 7800 version looks better of course. I even like Dig Dug 2. It's different because you're on an island and you don't dig underground. But it's still enjoyable to play. The one cool thing about it is you can cut out sections of the island and the enemies will fall into the water. I'd like to see Dig Dug 2 on the 2600+ or 7800. Because it was never on an Atari console before. I talked about this game getting an enhanced version in a thread I made. It probably won't happen. Most likely the first game would get enhanced but who knows.
  8. This is interesting. I don't think I've seen or heard of this hack before. Gotta love these hacked versions. I have the regular Lock N' Chase. It's a fun game.
  9. Not sure. I may have played that hack. I've played hacks of 2600 games.
  10. I have 2 homebrews coming. Both are 2600 games.
  11. I used to have Mach Rider on cart. I never got far in it either. It wasn't a bad game though.
  12. That would be cool. I'd buy it. It would be nice if double ender carts came back.
  13. Oh okay. I thought you meant more titles coming. As for the 2nd enhanced game, not sure what it is. I was hoping it could be Frenzy since that's the sequel to Berzerk. And Ben said it's an enhanced game like Berzerk. Also, Atari bought Stern. So, there's a chance it might be Frenzy. This is from Wikipedia: On March 16, 2023, Atari announced that it had acquired the intellectual property rights to 12 Stern Electronics titles, including Berzerk and Frenzy.
  14. I played that game recently. The controls are not that difficult. I used a joystick and was able to play it just fine. It's all about knowing which direction to push the joystick to match with what gun turret to fire at the ship. The sequel has faster enemies I think. So, that would be more challenging trying to shoot down the ships with the added speed. I prefer the original game.
  15. I didn't know about other re-releases coming this summer. That's interesting. By the way, I like the Imagic games. I only have 2 of them. Demon Attack loose cart and Atlantis on a multi-cart.
  16. Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze on Switch. I played it on funky mode which was supposed to be the easy difficulty. But the game was still challenging. I never really got into the Donkey Kong series. I wanted to try it out though. In the end, the game wasn't for me.
  17. It could be due to the CX40+ joystick being stiff. It makes you have to use more force to move it around. Therefore, it might be causing the pain. Unlike the Hyperkin Trooper which to me is much better. It has more movement for the joystick. I use that over the CX40+. Also, the Trooper doesn't dig into your palms.
  18. It looked similar to mine. I've heard of the Quickshot.
  19. That special controller they made for the game is pretty cool. By the way, is that a photo of the Archer joystick? If so, I have the same one. I like the auto fire switch option.
  20. It's a fun game. I've played it online. Also, it's not an expensive game either. If you want to try it for free here's the link. https://www.free80sarcade.com/atari2600_SpitfireAttack.php
  21. It is a fun simple game. I have the cart. It would be nice to see some updates to the game if it ever happens.
