He can even coax the TIA to output Pokey sound, just by staring threateningly at the console.

Two things: Hug and kiss the wife and the 3 year old until you can't do it anymore - little ones are too precious to miss those things! and then ... PARTY ON, DUDE! Make time for Spacehunter!!! The Overdog will not be pleased if you don't!

I love YouTube during the times when everything doesn't get deleted. If you find something you like, download it before it goes away.

  9. Finished another DragonLance book - "Kindred Spirits" the first of six "Meetings" spinoffs. Five more to go...

    1. DamonicFury

      DamonicFury

Wow, I remember reading the first three of those "Meetings" books twenty years ago! Never did read the second trilogy, but I did read the new Weis/Hickman books when they eventually came out.

  10. At work, eating a falafel sandwich, listening to Steve Vai, and writing Performance Reviews for my team. Good stuff.

  11. Went to an honest to goodness arcade yesterday. Disney's Riverside resort. It was actually pretty good - played Space Ivaders, Qix, and Millipede.

      Metal Ghost

Cool, they have one there too? I've been to Disney Quest in Downtown Disney. I missed out last time I took the family there, but on my Honeymoon (many years ago) that place was off the hook! Also, about a year & 1/2 ago I was at the arcade at the Contemporary. Very cool place and nice setting....seemed '80's like', whatever that means.

Haven't been to DQ in a LOOONG time. $48 entry fee is steep, bu they do have a good selection. Here's my writeup on Riverside's arcade: http://www.gamegavel.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5442&p=32188#post32188

  15. Decent day at Flea World - no spectacular deals, but grabbed a bunch of NES games I wanted.

  16. Just finished my first Ravenloft book - good, but depressing. Everyone died at the end. Are they all like this?

  17. Played some River Raid on 5200 this morning.

  18. Played 5200 Space Dungeon for the first time today. Thanks Santa (and atari2600.com for their good prices and fast shipping)!

Well, ET did have that freakishly long finger, so he could probably ... oh, wait, you're saying that the ET _game_ was hard. Never mind.

Hard games can be fun. I never thought Mega Man was the easiest game but it is still fun to play. I want to see this game.

  22. Thinking of selling a couple of my consoles.

  23. I love classic games because after 30 years I'm STILL having fun with them. I can still get a better score, and even if I don't get better, I still have fun just playing them.

    1. greencoman

      greencoman

Agreed. I think now I can appreciate them more and now that I feel my mind is not a racy as it was as a kid they became more fun. When I played sonic 2 the fun was just beating the game. Now I think I will set out to get the gems as well. I know how you feel.

  24. I cracked open my first beer at about 2pm, but stopped after that one.
