  1. We never did mod yours with a chroma shift circuit. We can still do it, if you want.
  2. Le Mans 24 is fantastic on Dreamcast. They did some good games just not many
  3. Ideally 1080p and higher is needed for scan lines, gives the ability to show adaptive scan lines, where the brighter the video, the more compressed together are the dark scanlines. Then there’s emulating the shadow mask for another level of realism. probably requires more cpu time to do the video filtering than to emulate the 2600.
  4. Modding a PAL light sixer for a forum member, and came across this molded into the top shell. Any idea what this means? Maybe a demo or review unit? Date codes indicate a mid 1981 machine.
  5. @CommodoreCEO I found the AV mod. Installed it in a spares console I have with screwed up video, and it works, still screwed up video, but its not the mod, its the console. Do you want it for the price of shipping + beer money from the UK to Ireland? I'll send some pics of where the wires go. No warranty I'm afraid!
  6. https://gamesx.com/wiki/doku.php?id=av:cbs_coleco I've used this circuit in PAL consoles, not bad, works ok, easy to fit. I did end up with a console at some point that had this circuit on a simple etched PCB, found it on ebay and i think it was made by a Turkish person, and cost ridiculous money for the few parts involved. Console was modded for RGB, so it was removed. I don't think I threw it out, must be here somewhere, but where, who knows.
  7. @eightbit The Gamedrive has just enough of an FPGA recreation in the cartridge to be able to generate the RGB image, its not the whole console. If you use composite/s-video or RF from the 7800 itself then everything is on the original hardware.
  8. Should have the 5200 version of Centipede, much better than either the computer version or Millipede. Space Dungeon is awesome, but no chance, its Taito.
  9. Without rights issues, i’d just fill it with Synapse games
  10. 300mA isnt enough to run it, stock psu was 500mA. how are you testing the psu output, multimeter needs to have the power pass through it and into console. it not as simple as measuring voltage.
  11. Just run both the NTSC and PAL Battlezone on my RGB light sixer from Harmony cart. NTSC is fine, PAL doesnt have the colour graduations.
  12. Yeah, its 60hz NTSC, but i can change the palette on the RGB 2600. PAL 7800 was wrong colours, but playable.
  13. I can live with playing the 2002 version. Returned to Amazon.
  14. Just arrived in the last 20 minutes from Amazon UK. On a RGB modded PAL 2600, a PAL 7800 and a NTSC 7800, there's an annoying bug. The robot explosion sound is 0.3 second behind the animation, it ruins the immersion. This does not happen on the original Berzerk, or the 2002 Voice Enhanced version. Guess it'll be on it's way back to Amazon.
  15. Looks like the converter box isnt getting a 5v signal on the rgb blanking pin of the scart. its not switching to rgb mode from composite.
  16. I'm not sure how this happened, but its from factory, no work had been done before on this one. I don't think the console had been used much as it still ran a 7800 cart, if it had been used no doubt that pin would have been bent and the console most likely thrown out long before it arrived in my hands. Console has been sent by a forum member for a video upgrade, the board is only the second one I've seen of this revision, good quality pcb and solder. Parts are exactly the same and approximate age as a PAL 7800 I've got which doesnt run my Harmony cart, this one doesnt either. So that's good ??!?? At least its consistent.
  17. I've always made my own using Belkin PureAV cables. Not cheap but they are double shielded and have an outer screen. I had one regular cheap Belkin, junk. That had one shielding on the individual cores, just an outer screen. Can never work properly.
  18. i was thinking of consoles designed for CRTs. Yeah, Sony FW900, I'd love one. Just have to put up with a 35 year old BVM for pre PS2, and a LaCie 19" VGA for Dreamcast, PS2, Gamecube and XBox. If the LaCie was 16:9 then the 360 and PS3 would be through it too. The PSTV is.
  19. Anything up to and including PS2 looks better on CRT.
  20. On a 2600 composite modded console we use a 3.5mm stereo socket for composite and mono audio. Tip connected to composite. Makes a neater install. Most TVs with stereo audio input, will recognise when audio is input into the left channel only and automatically send it to the right channel too.
  21. Chroma always looks pretty random, but if you zoom right in you can see the colourburst. You could temporarily connect the CVO on the board to the composite on the TV. Should get colour, but will look a little weird, like its got fake scanlines! We have no idea why this is happening. Doesn't using same FMS6400 and a 2600.
  22. First, check the new board has power. Check the luma input on the new board, and then the luma output. It'll be higher level than you expect on output, but its right when connected. Ignore chroma for now. You could try plugging the luma output into a composite input, should have an image. It will probably have weird colour as TV tries to decode the non-existant chroma.
