    The line deletion issue was also happening for me - "Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.22621.963]" according to command prompt.  I also get no GUI or logging info to the console when specifying command line arguments.  I have to pipe output to a file.  This is with the last 3 versions of the flasher.

    Thanks for the info. When the wife wasn't looking I tested on her win11 machine and confirmed the problems. Issues created on github https://github.com/FujiNetWIFI/fujinet-flasher/issues

    I've just tested the win-x64-version and it works, but the prompt in the console window was doing funny things (deleting the lines from bottom to top). Finaly it showed cryptical log-messages.

    Thanks for the test report. Which OS did you test with? I vaguely remember the deleting lines thing when the flasher was updated quite a while ago. I will investigate.

    The "cryptical log messages" are due to the serial monitor baud rate being incorrect which is noted in my first post. After flashing, change the baud rate to 921600 and click the serial debug output button to restart the serial monitor at the correct speed. The next firmware release will not require the baud change as it will be set in the firmware to 460800.

    mozzwald also suggested I could do a new build of the firmware or just wait for him to be able to do it. I said I'd wait for him to do it.

    There is a new FujiApple build available that uses the lower 460800 baud. You need to get the latest FujiNet Flasher Beta from https://fujinet.online/firmware in the FujiNet-Flasher dir. The new Beta flasher is tagged as v1.4.0. Please test and report back on Discord so we can continue troubleshooting.

    More details about the new flasher is in this thread:

  4. Coming soon to a FujiNet near you is an updated FujiNet-Flasher. Here's the nitty gritty:

    • Baud rate can now be set by the user but the default is 460800. Previously, the default baud rate was 921600 but due to some unforeseen circumstances, we need to lower it. All firmware released thus far has used the higher baud and all new firmware going forward will use the lower 460800 baud. You can still use the old flasher to update the firmware, but debug output will just display garbage so you should get the latest when it's available.
    • I've added a check so that if you try to install a firmware that is larger than the detected flash size on your fujinet, it will throw an error and stop. Some folks are using custom hardware and there are some other platforms using the smaller 8MB DEVKITC board but the "official" Atari FujiNet has 16MB built in.
    • FujiNet Flasher now has a version check. When run, the flasher checks fujinet.online for the most current version and will display a message that you should update if a newer one is available, otherwise it will display the version you are running. This was added since there are multiple platforms and so many different places to try and get the word out about an updated version. Now, the flasher will just let you know.

    At the moment, the only firmware using the new baud rate is the latest Apple II firmware. When the new flash tool is officially released, all platforms will get a new firmware release. In the mean time, if you would like to test it, you can. The new flash tool is tagged v1.4.0 and is available at https://fujinet.online/firmware in the FujiNet-Flasher dir. You can flash firmware at any baud, then set the baud to 921600 and click the Serial Debug Output button to use the debug monitor. Please report any issues here or in the #fujinet-flasher channel on our Discord server.

    Thanks and happy Fujinetting!

    I botched the pin 10 card detect on SD socket, but did not seem to impact it's use. Is that pin even needed??

    It's not explicitly required. If card detect is working, FujiNet will reset when card is ejected or will mount the card automatically if inserted.

    Glad you got it up and running

    When I look at Fujinet.online/firmware, I see an Atari release for December 23rd (https://fujinet.online/firmware/releases_atari/fujinet-ATARI-0.5.9548198d.zip).

    However, I don’t see the release in the JSON file that’s picked up by Fujinet-flasher. Is there a problem in this firmware so you don’t want users to use this version?

    I had intended to release it after some testing so I put it there but did not add it to the flash tool. you are welcome to install it and report any issues. I have been using it myself and at least one other person has tested it. You can install it with the flash tool from the command line like so:

    FujiNet-Flasher /path/to/firmware.zip

    So, it appears to possibly be an issue with the NUC Fujinet/Cartridge add-on board. 😒

    Since you've already determined bad soldering on the sd cart slot, I recommend you go over the entire fujinet board with magnification and look for more bad solder joints.

    There is no reaction on booting the Atari with this Fujinet any more.  Neither on the Atari nor in the debug output.  There is shown that the update was installed on the Fujinet and the buttons working well.  What is necessary to make the Fujinet work again?

    After flashing the fujinet do you see the fujinet boot messages in the flash tool debug output? Something like this (and more) should appear:

    [22:45:17] FujiNet 0.5.393a4d49 2022-10-04 03:09:33 Started @ 4
    [22:45:17] Starting heap: 4376571
    [22:45:17] Detected Hardware Version: 1.0
    [22:45:17] SPIFFS mounted.

    If you see that, the fujinet is correctly flashed and outputting debug information. Then leave it connected to the computer and attempt to boot the Atari. You should see more debug output as the Atari tried to load the config disk from Fujinet. If you do not see messages, what do the LEDs looks like on the Fujinet? Any of them on, flashing, etc?

    I need help on flashing v1.5, please! I tried two different but with no success. The Atari don't boot the Fujinet any more. But the ESP could be programmed again and again. I hope it isn't bricked totally, is it? What do I have to do to get it working again?

    20221128_2244_132.txt 1.78 kB · 1 download 20221128_2245_132.txt 2.87 kB · 0 downloads

    Both of those debug logs show that the firmware was installed successfully. Please capture debug output from FujiNet when trying to boot the Atari and if you could start a new forum thread about your issue.

    The Doctor quoting my text doesn't help me here. I currently use two Fujinets. One is 1.5 and the other is 1.6. Both have installed the latest firmware with Bluetooth function. Without Bluetooth, I've already tried it. There is the possibility to mount files to the respective host slots with R or W. R Works, but W does not. Error Mounting Host Slot. What's up with W? Why doesn't this work anymore? Is this a bug or is this generally no longer possible because most TNFS servers are read-only. If so, why is there the W function to mount the images? This is confusing.

    Most publicly available TNFS servers probably only allow read access (this is true for tnfs.fujinet.online) so that any random person cannot modify/delete/corrupt the disk images. If you mount a disk image from your SD card, you should be able to mount it as Write and modify the contents.

    "Error Mounting Host Slot" may be something else. If you can capture debug output when you are trying to mount a disk and the issue arises, we may be able to see what is happening

  11. A new firmware update is available from https://fujinet.online/download

    "version": "0.5.c68d21b5",
    "version_date": "2022-11-06 22:59:06",
    "build_date": "2022-11-06 22:59:06",
    "description": "WiFi password & HiScore bug fix",
    "git_commit": "c68d21b5"
    • CONFIG bug fix
      • WiFi password length
      • <> navigation
    • High Score enabled games fix

    This and the previous firmware have been marked as BETA since they both contain the new CONFIG program which has not been completely tested. Keep the bug reports coming if you find one, thanks!
