  1. A couple of my 360 favorites are backwards compatible now. Daytona USA and Civilization Revolution. I would really like a new Civilization game for the XB1 or PS4.
  2. The only racing wheel I ever had was the Sega Saturn Arcade Racer steering wheel. I really enjoyed Daytona USA and Sega Rally back then and wanted an arcade like experience. It was ok, but having to get out a TV tray to set the thing on every time I wanted to use it became a pain.
  3. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2017-project-scorpio-tech-revealed A lot of information on the Scorpio at Eurogamer. Will be interesting to see how current and future Xbox games take advantage of the extra power of the Scorpio.
  4. I am definitely interested in VR. My family has the Google Daydream and Samsung Gear VR headsets and both of those are pretty neat. I prefer the Google version a bit more because it has a separate controller vs a touchpad on the headset, but the Samsung does fit a bit better. I want to see if Xbox Scorpio will have any VR capabilities before I decide on a higher end headset. The PlayStation offering looks good and I have a PS4, but most of my gaming is done on the XB1 so I am on hold for a bit. I am hoping that the Occulus Rift or Vive will work with the Xbox Scorpio.
  5. I am in the alpha preview of the Xbox Game Pass, and so far the game selection is slim. There are 21 titles available and most of them I have. It looks like only Microsoft and Rare games are available for the alpha so far. Titles like Gears of War, many Rare Replay games, Sunset Overdrive, etc. are available to test now. Most of the games are Xbox 360 backwards compatible titles. I don't think it is fair to judge based on the titles available, but I hope that Microsoft adds more XB1 titles, and titles that have not been Games with Gold titles.
  6. !00+ games, $9.99 a month. Not streaming, you download the games to your Xbox. http://www.theverge.com/2017/2/28/14761624/xbox-game-pass-subscription-game-service-features-pricing http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/games/xbox-game-pass Will have to see what games and how many I don't have before I would buy this, but it looks interesting
  7. I am with you on this. I would like a Switch that doesn't switch and came with a pro controller instead of the joy con. I really don't see me buying many games for this other than the few Nintendo exclusives. The games I would like that are launching with the Switch are all just ports of Wii U games anyway (Zelda, Splatoon, MK8) I will probably buy one for the new Mario game in the fall, but beyond that, there is not a lot to be excited about.
  8. My nephews and kids all had DS or DS lites plus some Acecards and we used to have 8 way multiplayer races and battles, was great fun. None of the kids ever upgraded to a 3ds though, they all got Ipads/tablets instead as they moved into their teen years.
  9. PS1 games seem to work a little better than N64 games, but neither one is perfect by any means. Hopefully the Pi4 when it is released (maybe in a month or two?) will have some more power to run these systems smoothly.
  10. Anyone capable of installing the Homebrew Channel on the Wii can just as easily install RetroPie on a Raspberry Pi 3. I prefer the Raspberry Pi for a few reasons. - Size. A Raspberry Pi is not much bigger than a deck of playing cards, making it easy to add to any setup. It is much smaller than a Wii, not to mention a Xbox. - Controller options. A RPi can use a PS4 controller, XB1 controller or a huge selection of USB controllers. - HDMI output. - Customization. There are a ton of cool cases for a RPi. That said, if playing "backups" on a console is important then modding a console is the way to go, but for emulation only, I prefer the Raspberry Pi.
  11. If the Switch doesn't have a killer library of games, it doesn't matter when it launches. The early adopters will probably be satisfied with the Zelda game at launch. Anything else in March would be a bonus. The real test is what will be available for the Switch in the fall of 2017. If the best offering in fall 2017 is a six month old Zelda game it will be in trouble. The competition will have Red Dead Redemption 2, Destiny 2, a new CoD game, Madden, FIFA, Halo, etc. How many of those third party games will be on the Switch? I will buy the Switch to hook up to my TV and play the 1-2 good Nintendo games per year I am interested in. Based on what I have seen so far I doubt I will buy much else for it. I am not really interested in the portable capabilities of the Switch, my smartphone is more than capable as a portable entertainment device.
  12. I have 2 standard Xbox Ones and was going to wait until the scorpio comes out next year, but then I saw the Major Nelson Gears of War console preview. That has me considering buying a Gears console now, but I am still wavering on that. At least I will buy a Gears controller.
  13. I was hoping for 2 separate systems that just shared games. An underpowered NX means for me that I would only use it for the 2-4 Nintendo games per year that I am interested in. If the NX is not more powerful than the current console offerings, I do not see me buying it for 2-3 years after it is released. I made a mistake by buying a Wii U on launch, I will not repeat it with the NX.
  14. This is my feeling as well unless the NX is a beast of a system and blows away the XB1 and PS4 visually on multiplatform titles. The only non Nintendo game I have for WiiU is Lego City. I will probably wait a year or two before buying a NX as well. I bought a WiiU at launch and was burned by the lack of available titles at launch.
  15. I will likely buy these. I would have liked to have both volumes in one package (or download) for $30, but I won't nitpick about $10.
  16. http://www.polygon.com/2016/5/25/11774294/xbox-one-slim-one-two-scorpio Looks like the Xbox 1.5 will be roughly 50% more powerful than the PS4.5, with possible Occulus Rift support. Hopefully Sony and Microsoft can keep the price for the new consoles under $500.
  17. I am hoping the NX is more of an operating system where if you buy a NX game it can be played on a home console hooked to my tv, or a separate portable system. I don't want some all in one hybrid nonsense. The problem Nintendo will have if they try and do both for a reasonable price (maybe $400-500??)is that they will just have an overpowered handheld and an underpowered home console. I am more interested in the home console. I don't really use portables anymore, I always have my phone with me for on the go gaming and don't really use my 3ds or Vita. The home console has to be more powerful than the PS4.5 or XB1.5, have at least as good of an online experience as Sony and Microsoft, otherwise I doubt I would buy any multiplatform titles for the NX. That was one of the problems I had with the Wii U, there was no reason to buy the latest Assasins Creed or CoD on the Wii U when the game looked just as good on the 360 and PS3 with a far better online experience. Unfortunately I don't see Nintendo passing both Sony and Microsoft in less than a year. That said, I will still probably buy whatever the NX is for the dozen or so games Nintendo will have that I cant get anywhere else,
  18. http://www.theverge.com/2016/4/27/11516352/nintendo-nx-confirmed-release-date No details as to what the console specs are, just a release date
  19. It depends. For a new compilation like Rare Replay, $30 is reasonable. The games in Rare replay hadn't been released on multiple generations of consoles, so I didn't mind paying a bit of a premium for that compilation. I think there were 30 games in that compilation so $1/game seemed reasonable to me For the various Atari/Midway/Namco/Intellivision etc compilations that have been released multiple times since the PS1 days, I wouldn't pay as much for. I probably have these compilations on one system or another and would only be buying it again on PS4/XB1 for convenience. $15-$20 is the most I would pay for a rehashed compilation on a current gen console, and even then it better have a ton of games. 50 cents a game or less for these.
  20. I voted Gamecube because I enjoyed the games the GC had over the Wii. So if the poll was about which system had the better games, I would say the GC. Hardware wise the Wii wins hands down due to its backward compatability with GC games.
  21. It is available for preview program members now.
  22. http://www.polygon.com/2016/3/1/11121666/xbox-one-hardware-upgrades-phil-spencer-microsoft and http://kotaku.com/sources-sony-is-working-on-a-ps4-5-1765723053 Kind of interesting that both Sony and Microsoft have rumored upgraded versions of their consoles in the works. Part of me likes the PC style evolution of hardware specs vs completely separate generations of consoles, while part of me likes the fixed hardware spec for 5-6 years. Do you guys think these rumors have any merit?
  23. The Ps VR will be released in October for $400, plus it requires the $45 PS camera and probably a $50 Move controller. I am interested in this, but if I am going to drop $550 for the VR and game I definitely want to try it out first. I am a little worried that this will not get the support Sony boasts. Anyone else interested in this?
  24. I picked the DS Lite. I had 2 original DS with broken hinges, one part of the hinge was very thin and broke after a few years. The DS Lits I have never had any issues with build quality, plus they came in a variety of colors. Nice to have when you have 3-4 of them. I never had a DSi. I do have an original 3DS. Nice system, but again the hinge seems very floppy on the original 3DS. The hinge never broke, but it seems the top screen was never really locked in.The 3ds XL would be my second choice on the list. Nice big screen and seems well built. I do not own a 2ds or New 3DS.
