  1. Hi @batari

First sorry to use the thread to contact you. I tried email and pm without success.

I made the order #1568594494 on dec 12th and received an email with shipping confirmation on dec 28th. But I didn't receive it yet (overseas).

I apreciate if you could contact me in private with tracking info.

    Thanks!

Realistically speaking, where should Analogue go from here?

What we currently know is that they are working on dual projects, the Pocket and Duo.  They also finally shipped their final run of NT Noirs.

Kevtris has also stated publicly that Analogue has hired more engineers which in turn will take a huge weight off Kevtris and allow him to make even better use of his resources, we can already see the benefits that brings with the ability to develop many projects concurrently.

However, we are getting closer and closer to hitting the limits of what they can implement given the FPGA chips they can realistically use.  It seems like PS1 is about the most powerful console they could realistically implement in terms of the overall man power required and the chips available at the budget they are willing to consider.  Besides PS1 what other FPGA consoles do you think they should/would consider developing?  Do you think they should start getting into Classic Computers and Arcades?   Do you think all hardware going forward should have third party support option like the Pocket?

I think they can back to the roots and make a Neo Geo FPGA (I think it's doable with current FPGA chip Analogue use or a double fpga setup as Pocket). This in 2022. Until there maybe the prices comes down and can be viable to use the same chip as Mister (115k LE if I'm not wrong) and enable Nintendo 64, PS1, etc.

At least an Arcade FPGA defeat their "legal" vision:

Analogue Duo does not play copyrighted ROM files, it plays legacy game cartridges and CDs.

They can put a floppy drive to make a classic computer fpga compatible with originals games but I don't think they will do it.

But I hope that increasing the engineer dept no only allows they will able to run 2 projects at same time but could also update previous works. Also have stock of their products would be nice. I miss the time when we complaim about the higher shipping costs but there was something to ship to us...

About third party support nothing was said about Duo. My guess it's a Pocket only thing because the pocket is like the Zimba 3000 portable edition. I dont see an updated pocket until Nintendo DS or psp are doable in FPGA.

Can someone tell me if the prior NT mini had a problem plugging in the 3D glasses and if the Noir fixes the problem (if it existed).

I remember something having a power plug too close and I think it was the shutter glasses, but maybe it was the FDS system.

A Famicom controller extender (or easy to find neo geo) will solve the problem to both V1 and V2 Analogue NT mini.

You know, I hate to be that guy, but I'd prefer they just release some of the things that have been promised for some time now and then worry about selling me something else. They've been sitting on money of mine for the Noir and the Pocket for some time now and wanna potentially sell me something else? Not really a good look....

That said, if I had to guess I'd guess PCE as well. We're not to the point yet where 32/64 bit would be feasible, at least from an affordability standpoint anyway.

A pc engine fpga with a cd-rom drive would be great but not now. You have a good point!

Maybe it's just some new features for the pocket and a new batch for pre-orders...

    about 10k orders

I ordered a dac on jul 27 (after the 'false start' non-preorder).  it was order #45389

myself and two coworkers ordered pockets today:

    #47455

    #50876

    #55302

we were all hitting buttons as fast as possible

I think you are right, but could be more than 10k (many 2 units orders).

Mine was #46163. Confirmation email was received at 08:02:08.

I kept refreshing wondering where the preorder buttons were. I'm glad though to have some time to think it over some more. $300 with the dock is awfully steep.

Is $20 for this USB-C power supply a fair price?

Well, afaik you can pay $10 for a similar Aukey (18w) usb-c wall adapter on Amazon.

But the dock already comes with the wall adapter... if you plan to buy it.

I don't think the pocket needs USB-C 18w. Maybe a usb to usb-c cable and a regular 2.4a usb wall adapter charges as well (but in 1 X mode?)

    From wall adapter page:

"Fast charge Pocket 2x as fast. Designed for Analogue Pocket but compatible with all Analogue products."

Not that it would be a terribly elegant solution, but couldn't you just use one of these with that adapter and call it a day?

I keep a cable extension like that pluggued all the time in the back of my original NT mini. All famicom accessories need this (cables are too short!).

I just use a velcro tie to not leave the extension loose.

I have more than one MiSTer. One has a Blisster and another a USB hub. Long story short, Blisster is a USB hub with 4 regular USB ports and 2 "bliss-box" connectors. Those function as built-in adapters to legacy controllers, and can translate to both USB and a special mode that is closer to the metal, but not official in MiSTer cores.

The thing to bear in mind is that there have been extensive tests of the USB stack (by different people) and it was found that some (wired) gamepads ran at 1ms polling intervals, and most slower gamepads can be made to go as fast (with a bit of setting tinkering).

One surprising result, by the way, is that 8BitDo controllers that are wired or use 2.4ghz RF are faster in wired mode than the bluetooth controllers of the same company in wired mode. Blisster runs at 2ms if I'm not mistaken, and cheap DYI Arduino adapters have no problem with 1ms polling.

Using the Blisster as USB hub is basically the same as using a USB hub plus a Bliss Gamer Pro adapter, the 4-play, or an Arduino adapter. If you have some bliss-box products already or like their approach then a Blisster makes sense. You can really ignore all that "low latency" stuff unless you use a CRT and want to tinker.

Thanks for the explanation! And about Blisster vs SNAC? Are both the same? (excepting that SNAC is officially supported in some cores).

AND updated UI. Something with the software has been changed.

Remembered that Kevtris said once that he ran out of gates or something on the NtM and he had choosen another FPGA if he could pick again.

I can very well be wrong.

Its a big question tho, will V1 and V2 have compatible firmwares..

"Nt mini v2 features a new and perfected NES cartridge slot, updated UI, branding, packaging, and includes a new 8BitDo 2.4g controller for NES in the box. Otherwise it's the same Nt mini you know and love. Available one last time. Better than ever."

Reading this I came in conclusion that what's is inside is the same fpga, same design, etc. Maybe the new UI will be compatible with v1 and v2 machines.

They said that. Analogue saying and Analogue doing is like comparing Marvel and DC ; totally different universes.

So I rest my case: i Want the sold out button to turn ASAP as a Buy button; I will even settle with a pre-order button, as long as I can pay and secure my adapters package.

I don't know why they didn't take pre-orders as they did for the DAC. For these "limited run"®️ products I think that most people will not complain to pay in advance...

Just received the tracking number for the controller:

    Hello Mauricio!

We just shipped your order via FedExSmartPost SmartPost. We hope you love it. Here's what we shipped:

Analogue hasn't replied back to him. The thing that stings is that they charged him full price which says on the sales page it comes with controller and receiver.  It's happened to a few others as well on Reddit. I told him to return for refund, but he wants to wait until analogue response. From what I can see they support hasn't been that great.
