  1. Also, PC wise I had a 486SX 25MHz with a DX33 overdrive installed. Also think I was playing Day of the tentacle. Got a Matsushita CD-ROM just hooked up to my sound card. AND Fasttracker music and playing nibbles at once.
  2. 1995. hmm, I think I was playing Yoshis Island 2 on the SNES. Also I recall I was borrowing Donkey Kong Country, the first game from a friend and played alot. The 32bit era had not started yet in Sweden.
  3. There is an option for "disable new PPU fixes" I noticed. Maybe there could be something I could try? I'm using NTSC-U chips so if its PAL-things I suppose it wont matter.
  4. Mega Man 4 Battle Kid 1 Battle Kid 2 Currently playing Mega Man 4, trying to beat it for the first time ever..
  5. You say there must be another board somewhere since this is missing things, like audio.. Could it be a SOC-part on each block. They take what is good each SOC and combine it with software emulation. Like NOAC are alright, but the sound is way off. Could the sound go through software and video through the NOAC? Sounds like an impossible task. Since they have stated that everything the original systems play the retroblox will play. Must be FPGA or SOC. Im just trying to figure out what this 50/50 hybrid emulation are..
  6. Thanks, ill start cleaning the cart connector then going over the sockets inside.
  7. Got a HiDef NES question. Think I have modded 5 of them without any issues, however a NES2 top loader behaves quite different. When it's cold, just started the screens sometimes rolls, or scroll verticaly. It stops after like 20 seconds after restarting the system. It even stops after resetting the console. My first thought was that a cap on the console is bad, but after recapping it the problem was the same. Not a huge problem, but it's still a problem.. Can't sell it as is.
  8. CRT:s mostly displaying wrong and warped picture, it wasnt perfect back then.
  9. Got one of theese hudson controllers, very neat. The compability arent 100% with the Fami port, due to how roms handle input. Make a fami->nes converter and its a done deal.
  10. Gonna cost a bunch of money to design a new PCB with HDMI out only, designing a new case etc. And there wont be a super big marked since many already brought the NT Mini. Two versions will take the others market. Not a good way to go. My guess they will move on with a Mega Nt. Maybe another runs on existing Nt:s. Sadly there wont be a Mega CD ode, there is give or take another Mega Drive on those so there will be a lot of money for one if so. Are people willing to pay 199USD for a Mega Nt. YES! Another 199USD (possibly more) for a Mega CD ode.. nah.. The problem will be the same as sega had, you must own this to have that and so on... My Answer: Build a Nt Neptune with a built in ode for 399USD! analogue/HDMI out BUT with a plastic case..
  11. Im very well aware of that. BUT its a real 7805, feeding 12Vish and get a stable 5V internally. SNT are needed 5V directly and depends on more the external power supply. The SNTs power design had one thing in mind, cost. This was my point.
  12. Got another HDMI switch, and its working now. Needed one with an external power. I guess there are more ounch in the current on a HiDef NES with a real 7805 that can supply the power needed. Since there is no regulation(?) on the SNT it will be more sensitive. Well, i suppose there is some 3.3 regulation.. But that does not count in this case.
  13. I don't have a 50hz modded console. US NES2 Toploader, 60hz 1080p. So its on paper the same signal. Anyhow I will return my hdmi switch and go for something else today.
  14. Have a question. It's nothing wrong with the Super Nt BUT i brought a HDMI switch -> 2 inputs 1 output. Hooked up a HiDef NES and a Super NT. Both can be powered on at the same time, last signal counts. Also there is a manual toggle. The HiDef works fine, but the Super Nt needs the HiDef to be powered on to use that input. If I just have the Super Nt the HDMI switch doesnt register an input. What's the difference between the signals between the systems? Using 60hz@1080p on both. EDID enabled on hidef, and DVI-mode off. Cant see any settings like that on the SNT. Clarification, SuperNT works fine on a dedicated port straight into my monitor.
  15. The Fami Network controller works on the Nt mini, i've tested it myself. Don't remember if there was only some cores but it works. Also the SNES NTT data controller works, I think Kevtris uses one himself for development and testing. Suppose it works with those adapters since its only a physical conversion. One thing doesn't exclude the other. But in my case, with wife and kids the time aspect is quite great. I don't have the time to jump into a large game. Love just blasting ducks for 10 mins, or beat Mega Man in an hour..
  16. Paid 499 + 65 shipping + 120 in import fees. bazinga!
  17. Congratulations! Its a lovely piece. I just love mine aswell, sooo incredible to be able to play all those cores. Played more Gameboy than I ever done last year. I hope Analogue makes another run, just to get the tech out there!
  18. IF a world class speedrunner using a HiDef NES. Is it a valid score? I mean. For SMB1 it would be a huge thing when they are counting seconds by thousands. There are a lot of speedrunners out there, most people arent that technical that knows that if its valid on a NESRGB it should be valid on a HiDef NES as well. Just saying, how hard would it be to get a 60.09Hz mode. A bit offspec, but there is alot of things that are. If it works it works.. Like the OSSC.
  19. NESRGB dont interfere with the speed the game is running in, but well. Twin Galaxies won't allow it I suppose. We all know what thats worth now..
  20. Ye, but the super nt can run without frame buffer as well. The zero lag option are indeed without frame buffer? Well, thats not true. Most of the NES speed runners are using NESRGB and a OSSC. The Super NT with the two other options than zero lag must be valid for speed runs as well.
  21. Just a HiDef-NES question. Its still in the realm of a FPGA system. I know you mentioned that is firmware-wise done and the FPGA is full. Is it possible to implement the way the super nt handle the 60hz imperfection, with a frame drop? I have no idea if its 2 rows of code or 2000. As it is now its running a bit..slow? And from a speedrun perspective it would not be useable? (other than hooking it up with the composite) And are the oscillators on the NES "perfect", are all exactly running at the same speed?
  22. OK, ye I really hope the Nt Mini get some love soon. Wonderful system. The problem seems to be affecting some revisions of the RAM adaptor only, think ill try to replicate the issue with mine + FDS stick.
  23. Whats the problem with the FDS support on the NT mini? The only thing i've heard that's a slight audio difference. Other than that it's OK?
  24. It worked for me, tried StarFox, Yoshis Island 2 and Doom, they all worked (tested v3). It is supposed to be running FX games a bit slow, but all NES games in my childhood was running slow so I'm not picky. Im sure it will be sorted out. Great that someone is taking on this task. Talking of speed.. I sold a PAL NESRGB system to a work college, he said it was broken since the music was running slow on his childhood SMB1. He refused to belive that it was that way back in the day, he was used to play on emulator past 20 years or so in proper NTSC speed.
  25. Seen some intresting stuff in the krikzz forum, someone have made the FX-chip working in the sd2snes fpga. Could the Super NT take advantage of this code and implement it and be implemented in the jailbroken software?
