Because I can buy a 40+ year old 2600 that can play 100% of all games , including homebrews (ARM or not) and cheap composite mod cheaper than this emulator. Pretty sad you call the hard working homebrew scene "IP-stealing hacks".

The original CX30 paddles are two paddles connected via a single DB9 port. Joined persay. Hence two DB9 ports .... 4 paddles. Really only for Warlords. A bit pricey I admit.

We actually use to to call his thumbnail literally looking like a 'Thumb' @Flojomojo. It sounds weird , but it was not malice in the end. Just an observation! We ended up rooting for him and his Atacobox to come to reality. Couldn't get a more passionate Atari fan. I even posted a pic of my ugly head as a retort for feedback and memes.

Well .. looks like we have the answer from the Legend! Although he does go on about the Atari VCS alot .... which we all expect. It's his baby! And don't forget, you may need a Babel Fish translator. I miss our old taco adventures on the old 'other' thread with the lads and ladies. This new Atari venture is not quite on the same league by any stretch ... but still taco worthy. Marketing needs a good kick in the ass. If they created a true hardware based 100% compatible system that plays ALL Atari consoles/computer based systems ..... 2600, 5200, 7800, 8-Bit, ST, Falcon, XEGS ... then imo they would have a mild gold mine ... even at a premium price. Especially for big collectors. The system would have quite a big size foot print with cartridge slots, cd drive, 3.5 floppy drive etc ... but what a draw card for even new physical collectors. Knowing one system literally plays all. What about a PS that plays from 1-5, Nintendo system that will play all. Never going to happen and unrealistic. Money runs the whole system. Just speaking aloud.

I don't agree. The average customer will be old farts who played the console bitd, not Gen Z or Gen Alpha .... and already have original hardware and a decent cart collection .... probably svideo or rca modded. They will want this new 2600pus system to be able to play everything (2600, 5200, 7800) to hook them in imo. Original, Homebrews, Mods, Starpath etc. Else why buy it. Just buy old, 'cheap' original hardware with a 'cheap' mod to play on modern lcds. If they want to play Pitfall, they have to have the cart .... which means they likely already have original hardware if they have said cart. Just makes no sense to me.

If I kick the bucket ... please leave a "Buried in the Atari Land Fill" under my username. Bad humor aside, I agree with idea. So many good souls here deserve some reflection. However ... Big job for Al.

So sad it's not FPGA based, even though as I previously aforementioned, such a weird marketing move either way. Just another ATGames unit .... with no inbuilt games! Anyways ...
