  1. Are you an idiot Goldy! It's obviously 'nocyom' backwards. Sheesh
  2. I wonder what old Jon Phelan thinks! Plus ... is this another taco thread? @GoldLeader Sorry. Couldn't help myself. @Albert will not be happy if it is! My bad!
  3. What a bizarre Atari marketing move imo. An Atari 2600 revamp via emulation (again), 80% the size of the original, and not updated original hardware, and then you need the physical cartridges to play. What a niche market. 40 to 60 year old grumpy old men. Most of the enthusiast market will already have 2600s' cheaply modded for modern tvs. So really your buying it for HDMI and then hope for the modern younger gamers to go out and buy 2600 carts, without the guarantee to play all games, homebrews etc!
  4. Always wondered why this was so. Marketability I assume. Many Arcade games down here in Australia, in the 80's, had different names from the original US cabs. In Oz, Mat Mania was Exciting Hour, Bump N Jump was Burning Rubber, as noted by @Flojomojo, Ring King was King of Boxer, Kicker was Shao-Lin's Road, Mr. Heli was Battle Chopper and so on and so forth blah blah blah. But I digress. Now back to the agonisingly long Amico Footbath shit show.
  5. The C64 (128d to be exact) was my next gaming machine after the 2600 ... and I smashed it. It was just nice to read Zapp64 for all the reviews, up and coming games, peek and poke cheat codes etc. Plus the layout was full of colorfull pictures and screen grabs. Just drew you in. Plus you would get cassette tapes and later floppy discs with demo games attached to the front of the magazine.
  6. Pandora's Palace (1983) Bull Fight (1984) Flicky (1984) The Legend of Kage (1985) The NewZealand Story (1988) Wardner (1987)
  7. Great game. Played it on the c64 and finished it after much button mashing ... but @roots.genoa is right. Will be a fail unfortunately. BUT I hope I'm wrong!
  8. The Frogger Wiki makes some interesting reading for anyone who gives a f#&k. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frogger "Sega/Gremlin agreed to pay Konami $3,500 per day for a 60-day licensing window. A prototype was playtested in a San Diego bar and was so successful that distributors agreed to resell the game based on the test alone."
  9. Yup. The Taiwan - Cooper Black version of "Football" uses same box color and layout'. http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-2600-vcs-football_17641.html
  10. I know we're flogging a dead ET horse .. but Yup. Remember picking up my 2600 vader in '82 with the parents. Came with the standard title games & ET. I smashed the hell out of ET. Yeh sure frustrated with the pits ... but loved the game at 10 years old. Nuff said I suppose. Perspective.
  11. I use a 20 year old 'Creative Zen 4GB' mp3 player with my PAL Supercharger. Still going strong.
  12. Sounds like confucius NotsoWizewonathome has had a few too many tequilas at the bar .. and maybe a few "cones".
  13. This all reminds me of this old chestnut ..... Although it's more like .....
