  1. After a few minutes on the GC controller, everything feels natural. Nightmare > Link though
  2. You'll play it twice and put it in your closet forever. Good for a collector's piece or a converation piece, but bad for actual playing due to small number of games and the headache you'll get.
  3. What is your guiltiest video game pleasure. You know the game you're not supposed to like because it's a medicore game put you still love anyways or the game you play when no one is looking | . For me it's Killer Instinct Gold for the N64. I know it's an inferior port of a mediocre fighter, but for some reason I love playing it. Maybe it's because you get to be a predator wannabe or a skeleton pirate .
  4. I've been wanting to do some garage sale hunting, but the bad weather here (Cleveland) lately has put a damper on most of my plans The one weekend I did manage to go garage sale hunting, all I found was SNES , N64 , and PS1 stuff. It seems the Atari market has dried up here.
  5. You might want to try the Ogre Battle/Tactics Ogre series. Those games are pretty long, have deep stories, have multiple endings, and allow to customize your characters and teams to an extent. The Ogre Battle games, Ogre Battle (SNES, PS1) and Ogre Battle 64 (N64) play like a combination of a RTS game and a traditional rpg. The Tactics Ogre games, Let Us Cling Together (PS1) and Knight of Lodis(GBA) play much like Final Fantasy Tactics. In fact the same guys who made the Tactics Ogre/Ogre Battle series also made FFT and FFTA and are currently making FFXII. Another recommendation is Star Ocean: Second Story on the PS1. It supposedly has 80 different endings and the characters are very customizeable.
  6. Mine is trading in certain SNES and N64 games in that now I wish I had for my collection, but I was young and needed the money.
  7. I like the GBA version of Final Fight. It has the stuff taken out of the SNES version, some good cheats, and Street Fighter Alpha versions of Cody and Guy.
  8. A game room starts with the chair you play your games on. You can look at Goodwill or and used funiture or thrift store for a cheap comfy chair. Also get an uncomfortable chair if you invite anyone over to play games to give yourself a home field advantage. As for tvs, sometimes you can go to a store and buy a display model for cheap. I got a 27' RCA from Walmart for $100 because it was a display model and had a few sctaches on the side. Check your newspaper's classified ads, sometimes you can find a good deal on furniture, tvs, and even games.
  9. There's already a Phanstay Star Collection for the Gameboy Advance. Get a Gamecube and a Gameboy Player and you're good to go.
  10. Not really, I live within a 15 minute drive or so of about a dozen or so used game shops.
  11. I love and hate flea markets, it's like hunting for treasure but nowadays everyone seems to know exactly what everything is 'worth', thanks to that stupid internet, thank you Al Gore for inventing the interent. I do most of my shopping at two stores in my area. One is a used record store that has a decent selection of 2600 games. The other is an independent game shop that specializes in older systems. It's where I go my 7800 that I use now, it beats Ebay and shipping costs.
  12. I know I overpaid a bit on Spider-Man, but it's one of those games I always wanted as a little rabbit but never got especially since I'm a Spider-Man freak, but now I do
  13. I don't know why they even bothered trying to port it. The SNES and Genesis couldn't handle Pit Fighter (though they were lazy ports and SNES Pit Fighter might be the worst SNES game), so why did they think they could make a passable version on the 7800.
  14. 7800 Karateka might seriously have the worst play control I've ever played.
  15. Karateka (7800)- $2 Venture -$2.50 Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back- $3 Atlantis- $1.50 Space Invaders- $2.50 Dark Chambers- $2.50 Gorf- $4 Target Fun- $1 Raiders of the Lost Ark- $.75 Maze Craze- $1 Spider-Man--$6 Swordquest: Fireworld- $1.50 Demons to Diamonds- $1 G.I. Joe- $3
  16. I got a 7800 2 weeks ago. The only two games I have so far are Pole Position 2 and Karateka, so right now it's a glorified 2600 player.
