  1. As the contest is over, I guess that Lynx Nyan cat desserve a topic on his own
  2. I just hope that Matmook made some british dancers footage

    Tube

Did you try with another USB cable ?
  4. Kurnuttaa would be a nice name for a game...
  5. It was for a contest for Lynx anniversary. Should not be make anymore... Right, the author never gave permission for edition, this is piracy... (like ABL/Ladybug, and some others...)
  6. Do you read french ? When Rygar started to learn coding for Lynx (he was a total beginner), we made this tutorial topic, bases on his progression & questions : http://yaronet.com/posts.php?sl=9&s=105529 It used the old BLL kit, and archive may not be on line after all this time. I do not have time to remake up to date archives (as my own setup is probably not up to date) or skills to write tutorial it in english, but this may help you (if you are able to read french on your own, and not via google translator who could induce some mistakes or incomprehensions)
  7. Yes, graphs are really nice, I just reloaded an old alpha test version of Karate World Tour yesterday, you really make astounding graphs for the Lynx. With Matashen's programming skills, I'm confident that the games will be a hit. Well, if you don't mind coming to France for the AC show in April and make graphs in 24h for a silly themed coding contest, you could have a really frightening experiment in terror
  8. "Croa" La grenouille croasse... Nice name, reminds me the name of a game
  9. And also some guys who sell beta on Ebay Of course, the RROM can be blocked from playing on real hardware, but this is a shame for flashcard and BLL owners...
  10. You can add "Tetris Raiden" (or whatever it will be called) to the list (there should be a topic somewhere). I also have an unanounced project lying (that I personnally find pretty cool) on my harddisk that need some more work before first release.

Send me a PM with any questions, or... visit the Jagware IRC channel No more IRC, it's too much time consuming and dangerous for family life I guess that dev doc will be available sooner or later ?

It is a french convention, nearly in the middle of nowhere (in fact, in a nice small village near Paris) This year, it will help in April 14 and 15th. There are historicaly lots of Atari fans, coders and even gamers. But other retro stuff like Amstrad, MSX, Amiga (even the new and cool OS and computer) are well represented. Based on some older stupid challenges (wonder who were stupid enough to make things like that ), there is now a 24h coding contest. Last year, it was based on Tetris thema, there have been 2 projects on Jaguar (Reactris, and Tetrisbug), 1 on Amstrad, 1 on GBA, 1 on GP32 (winner of the competition) and 1 on Lynx (my Tetris Raiden concept)... Fun, creative and exciting contest...

Of course, a real language like Basic would be better, I put intentionally 'script' between '' because if many things are managed by Raptor, we could deal with something more light (even if it restrict the potential, at least in first script language version). The question of who is of course more important, I have deal with stuff like this 20 years ago (compiler, interpreter, even from imaginary simili-Pascal language to imaginary assembler on imaginary silly processor, with or without LEX/YACC), but this is really old (and I had multiple brain washes till this time) and I have strictly no experience in 68k programming, so writing a converter to 68k or an interpreter in 68k (there are some sources on the net for this, but that would need lots of rework) would probably be out of my capacities right now for me But first, I would probably need to know more about Raptor. Matmook, Sh3, Linko, will you have some spare time during AC ?

hi Gaz, RAPTOR will handle all the setup, graphics format conversion, object movement, animation, collision detection, joypad/rotary input, memorytrack/score saves and music and sound effects for you. The object definitions (what stuff looks like, how it moves, etc) is all scripted, the animation engine (RMotion) is all scripted, and the music bank is all 'scripted' (although slightly differently!) You will still have to code the 'logic' for a game - but given you have Linko and can always contact us directly, I think you'd be good to go if you decided to try and make something yourself! Can't wait to see what people make with this You only need to code the logic ? Are there any plan to write a simple 'script' to ASM converter in order to make game writing with RAPTOR even easier ?
  15. Thanks Matashen. This is the french site, but if you prefer the english version, it's in my signature (I do not have access to free.fr subdomains at work, so I don't remember if there is a link from french page to english one on site ...)
  16. So, apart Gaztee and his cucumber, you took the same place than last year ?

1000 people !!! Wow, this was a great event, next year, I will try to come, but Blackpool is not the easiest town to go in UK. Great news !!! And I hope there will be a cartridge release. Unfortunately, I won't attend to the Ejagfest this years (unless I make a nervous breakdown that urgently need to be cure with some Currywürst %) ).
  18. For information, on the video shown by sh3-rg on first page, I demonstrated Another World during last EJagfest from my skunkboard. This was a complete version of the game, with all levels, (enhanced) graphs and sounds (even if monitor was silent due to what seems to be an obscure and ancestral malediction ). There was probably still some bugs or glitches, and some things to improve (as the engine is completely rewritten, this is not a straight port from old sources), but it fits on a skunk 2, and not with a 6mb tick as I was demonstrating Ladybugged on other bank... So we can be faithfull on having a cartridge release
  19. Don't remember the price, it was something like 60/70 euros for a night in a single room IIRC. Btw, I just wanted to check the prices on a booking website, and it seems that the hotel is fully booked during the ejagfest...
  20. Maybe Tyrant can make a v2 thats a foot pedal? That's the way we played with sh3-rg's one during the AC (oops, maybe, he was not aware of )
  21. Oh, so this was a discussion ,really ? Usually, when 2 brits discuss near me, I don't understand a single word Not sure if I will be able to attend this year (*), but it would be great to stay in same hotel again (if you don't care to have a non-drinking french guy at the same table than you ) (*) Like I said last year, the ideal date would be on October, 22. So I could go to Essen Spiele Messe and Ejagfest in same trip For information, the french RGC will held on November 5 and 6.
  22. I bought Child of Eden this week. If you like this kind of games (Rez, T2K, ...), you should give it a try. I only played it with Kinect, don't even want to try with a pad, I have the feeling it would be a truncated experience...

Great job !!! [French devs private joke] I love this sentence [/French devs private joke]
  24. In Handy, just open the file as usual, this is like a .o file. On flash card, you will have to convert it into a rom format with lynxer tool (it will generate a .lyx file to flash)
  25. Are you crazy ? It's the best part of the page, gave me 10 minutes of fun in my day And it's also very informative, seems like Jagfest UK will have new organization this year ? Btw, it's nice to see your game on this short list. Great job guys ! Would have been nice to see also some Lynx games like Alpine Games or Zaku, but a short list is allways too short
