  1. I am never surprised to see how helpful people are here. Think I'll take a look at this myself!
  2. Does anyone know just HOW MUCH mercury are in these things? Should we really avoid them (besides not being very good)?
  3. I'm not looking for a better system. I'm more interested in a computer's place in history. I read all the time that the original Macintosh was groundbreaking yada yada yada and yet, I find there wasn't much software for it, at the time, based upon my own research. I'm wondering if I'm wrong which is why I'm looking for some kind of list. I will check out those links. Looks like I may find some answers there. Thanks Flo.
  4. Can you elaborate on this? I want to know more because this is fascinating!
  5. Dig the wall decor. I need more of that, but more importantly, I need one arcade cabinet. Preferably the original Tapper.
  6. I picked up an Apple Macintosh 512k for Christmas. Though I am not much of an Apple guy, I always wanted one of these in my collection. So I'm trying to find a list of software, not so much for the 128k but for the 512k system. I've done several searches on the world wide web and haven't found a single, easy to read, list. I'm looking for both 1st party and 3rd party software that was available in the time frame that system was being sold. I know, I'm asking for a lot but can anyone help me?
  7. The "folklore" as someone put it is not without merit. Take that 2600 version of Donkey Kong.. Are you telling me that Activision couldn't have made that better looking? They could. Do I think Coleco really did handicap the games, no, but the reason the story seems plausible is because Coleco had an expansion module that allowed it to play the 2600 games. So if a person was considering a 2600 and saw how much better it look on the ColecoVision, well, straight to that. Same goes for the upgrader who will see that Donkey Kong looks so much better and have the added bonus of being able to play their 2600 games on it through the expansion module. The funny thing is I had the Coleco Gemini and as a kid, would always play 3 minutes of Kong before stopping because the graphics, even then, annoyed me. However, I credit that to the fact I had seen Donkey Kong on the ColecoVision
  8. I look at my Microsoft Surface with wonder. It's a tablet, but it's a full-pledged PC. It's very portable, but that wasn't always the case, though the Epson PX-8 was an incredible step forward (in my opinion). Check out this video put out by Video Game Stars about early portable computers.
  9. Although I made this video 8 months ago, it's already VERY dated as I am ALWAYS changing the layout because I'm never happy
  10. Then check out this video. On a side note, I am terrible at this game. I may get past the first board, but that's it...
  11. Stop it, you're making me blush! Thanks everybody!
  12. I love that hardware and I WILL get one after I win the lottery. Thanks for the info JasonlikesINTV and mr_me
  13. I'm pretty sure the keyboard for the Intellivision didn't go on sale until the second, non-woody Intellivision came out. My question is, how many working keyboard components (prototypes?) were made for the woody system? Are any still around and functional? That's so awesome!
  14. The animation at the very beginning isn't so great (fun story though), but after that, it's pretty fun and informative.
  15. ...there was "Softporn Adventure" for the Apple II computer. The company was On-line Systems. They eventually changed their name...
