I doubt that's worth a fifth of what he is asking. Cool stuff though.

How does someone with 9 feedback get to list a 550,000 auction? My account is like 16 years old and I'm a top rated seller that has like a 75,000 limit.

  2. Has any of the AA users residing in NYC seen any of 'Banksy's artworks, let alone the man himself (and i don't mean via his instawhatsits site)

      Reaperman

I'm not in NYC, but I've seen a bit of it. It's a pretty small place here, so it had a lot of impact. http://hypebeast.com/2008/8/banksy-visits-new-orleans

  3. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/m1-cyclist-escorted-safety-police-140247950.html#mkqemdf how could this person not fail to notice that he was cycling on one of the countries major motorways, a lack of crossing points, a lack of pedestrians or traffic lights perhaps

  5. If god created the universe, who created god (chicken and the egg situation here me thinks), after all something had to create god in order for god to create the universe

Andrew, I'm a scienteist and as a physician quite likely to be a lot more educated than you. Evolution is nonesnse. It is embraced by those who are desperate to explain God out of their lives, as they do not wish to submit to His will. I'm sorry you have to call people of faith "nuts", but actually your position is logically and by lack of evidence untenable.

Doctor Tom; I work for one of the worlds' leading and most respected scientific institutions and my education is at doctorate level. I'm not getting into a "mine is bigger than yours" argument with you regarding education. I'm educated; you're educated. Great. Very poor form to try and use supposed higher education (wrong, as it happens) to validate your views. Better not to see science as a threat to your beliefs, and instead embrace truth and the wonders therein.

  6. Atari's original 8-bit computer line, featuring the Atari 400, 800, XL, and XE series of computers. Powerful and well-engineered...taken from the strapline in the A8 forum, me thinks that only applies to the original 2 models in the series, after that things went downhill

The XEGS is neat, but its keyboard is awful. If all the XE keyboards are like that, I don't need another. And I wouldn't bother with changing the keys to make them less spongey.

  7. I am curious as to why i keep getting spam from AT&T, especially when i ain't even based in the US and i don't think their mobiles would work in the UK (unless you jailbreak/unlock it ofcourse)

  8. The reality of the computer industry is, there are only 2 o/s's competing in the market, the windozey camp (by microshaft) and the Linux/Unix camp (by Mr Torvolds, Apple and various)....we need more competition, Come on Atari, Commodore and Sky (who own Amstrad)...Lets see you come up with something

The age that we celebrate here is a time that will never happen again. We're stuck with Windows and UNIX until someone comes up with something better.

    3. 55five66six

      55five66six

I should say UNIXlike operating systems as Linux is not UNIX and Unix, other than FreeBSD or OSX is basically dead.

    4. Master Phruby

      Master Phruby

It's not that someone comes up with something better, it has to be marketed correctly. Something Linux groups have never been able to do.

  9. AtariAge.....Does not supply identify information....interesting, but what is that about

  10. I think Rockstar Gasmes are being a bit silly not doing a PC version of GTA 5 (considering that the games system versions are programmed on a PC), how do they know that in 7 months people will still want to buy a PC version of GTA 5

Because no one pirates Xbox 360 or PS3 games?

      @hatta

It's just easier, is it? And also, sold less then a million on PC, compared to X360 and PS3.

      goldenegg

It's impossible to please everyone. Porting games between systems isn't as simple as pressing a few buttons. I'm sure a PC version will be available in the future. Why hold up the console releases for it?

  11. Looks like gareth bale and cristiano ronaldo are going to be the best of buddies, what with ronaldo doing a sliding tackle on bale in his first training session at RM, meanwhile Ozil can't seem to be doing anything wrong with his move to the emirates (he seems to be well liked)

  12. Interesting fact about the 5200, the original design spec included 2600 backward compatibility (a'la 7800 like) the 2600 mode was dropped partway into the 5200 development

    1. Yoshiatom

      Yoshiatom

I guess they made the 2600 adaptor for the 5200 as a compromise?

    2. DoctorTom

Atari made a load of bad decisions.

These decisions were considered correct at the time. These decisions are incorrect only in retrospect.

Ah, true, true. The forum seems to be about normal to me (in terms of activity), minus the controversy. :)

  15. just managed to nab another 2tb hard disk for under 60 squid, now i wait a couple or 3 hours for everything to copy over from my 1/2 tb drive to the new HD and use the 1/2tb drive for back up only

      Tickled_Pink

It is to me. My 2Tb drive, which was full of TOSEC Porn, has had to go back to Hitachi. It's poorly :(

  16. Is it true that microsoft named a version of windows 8 after AA's 'Random Terrain' (RT)

    1. Gemintronic

      Gemintronic

Controlled Randomness is why every BSOD happens. That's all the proof I need.

No, please tell me more about this 'Rain' you speak of.

  18. sounds like Barnes and Noble are about to bite the dust.... http://www.theatlanticwire.com/entertainment/2013/07/once-bully-barnes-noble-becomes-victim/67658/ Lets hope WATERSTONES follow suit (especially after what they did to Dillons)

What is this "whembulldon" you speak of? Is it another fancy European game where you sweep toilet sanitizer discs around?
