  1. I'm afraid I never kept a list. Since receiving my Edladdin Super 78 a couple weeks ago the wireless controllers have gone into storage too. Next time I get them out I'll make a point to note working/not working games. I also recall there were one or two where it zips through the intro/menu like the button is held down but then plays fine otherwise.
  2. Almost a year later since this was posted here, but I have finally ordered the book. Kept thinking about it and wanting it, but finally am able to spend the money! Looking forward to it!
  3. After years of using Twitter I've given up. I think the last time I logged in was about a month ago. Just not much of interest going on there anymore.
  4. No noticeable lag. They only oddity with them is that a few games are not compatible. For reasons I don't understand, those games act as if the fire button is being held down all the time. Most games work just fine.
  5. Gravitar showed up in my mailbox this morning!
  6. Got notice that Asteroids and Gravitar are scheduled to be shipping pretty soon. Good to see they keep making progress!
  7. Kind of wish I ordered the whole set, but $$$. Quite happy with Yars' Return even though it took a long time and was reversed the first time. Hoping they work their way down to the Gravitar orders soon, but if we're just seeing reviews for Warlords and Super Breakout now I'm guessing we're looking at a couple more months.
  8. Ah, good to hear. I'm waiting on Gravitar which was one of the later ones, so I presume it'll still be awhile then until they get to me.
  9. Saw the updates here and while it's good info, I was really hoping to hear that the prior cartridges were going to start shipping... Must have been some kind of delay?
  10. Well, good, if the game you didn't order is about to ship, maybe the one I did order is also about to ship!
  11. Brings back some memories. I was mostly into doing graphical simulations, but I did do a Pong clone in C, with the graphics routines written in Assembly back on my old 10 mhz XT clone with DOS 3.2 back in the day! Code long since lost to history unfortunately, like almost everything I wrote back before GitHub existed...
  12. Any of the people in the know here heard when the Gravitar Limited Editions might be shipping out? Based on the time the orders closed I'd have to imagine we're getting pretty close...
  13. Caved in and ordered Gravitar when it was on sale before Christmas. It'll be interesting to see if it works on my 7800 or not. Looks like it should ship in another couple of months or so.
  14. Indeed. The Driving controllers are amazingly reliable. I've never seen one that failed. Unlike paddle controllers of which I've had many sets and they just don't last long at all.
  15. Unfortunately, I'm not right now as my current employment contract's inventions clause is very restrictive. Once I retire though, looking forward to getting back to developing as a hobby!
  16. Received a used cartridge of Demons To Diamonds and was excited to play it again. Lost my copy years ago... Last night I tried it on my 7800 first and just got a solid blue screen for 3 attempts. Then tried it on my 2600 and only got a solid black screen for 3 attempts. Set it aside for another day. Today, testing on 7800 and it's just solid black screen. I pulled the cartridge apart and the contacts were terribly dirty, but cleaned up nice. However, no change, solid black screen. Looks to be a real simple cartridge. Single chip with RFI shield and all the solder joints look solid. Is this a lost cause trying to get it working? I wouldn't expect a ROM chip to fail, but here we are, really nothing else in there to go wrong...
  17. Update: received a very nice woodie six switcher from Bonus Life Computers yesterday. Had them do the composite mod too. Yars' Return works great on it. So, it's definitely my 7800 not liking the game...
  18. My Dad was in a local Space Invaders championship way back in the day. Won a t-shirt that I wore for years.
  19. Correction. "F8SC"... Oh, and I caved in already. Checked one of the web shops I've dealt with before and they had a good condition 2600 listed, so placed the order... Hopefully in a week or 2 that will show up to test Yars' Return on...
  20. Ah, yes, Denis did say something about FS8C for Yars' Return in our Twitter exchange. That appears to be the bank switching scheme. I know a bit about bank switching, but am not up to speed on the varieties used in Atari land.
  21. Pulled the 7800 apart during lunch yesterday. I had totally removed C-64. No clue what I did with it. I don't think I'm going to put any more effort into this. I'm just putting Yars' up on the shelf as a collector's item. Guess I'm glad I didn't order Aquaventure after all as it probably would have been more wasted money. Kind of surprised that none of them work on the Retron77 either. Yars' I understand has extra RAM on-board, so I get that, but I didn't think the other 2 did, would have expected them to work.
  22. Good to know. Hopefully I'll have time Sunday to pop the cover off my 7800 and see if I just snipped one leg or removed entirely and perhaps do some testing. From what I remember the only reason I did the mod was for Robot Tank (which I no longer have). I have a SuperCharger, but IIRC it worked fine even with C-64 in place. Yars' Return may just be a lost cause for me on this system (which is unfortunate as it's the only one I have left), but I'd like to know for sure.
  23. I spoke too soon. I didn't have any trouble playing a couple quick test games. Prior Yars' Return cartridge was crashing after 5 seconds of play consistently, so I thought I was good. Nope. Trying to play later on I found that once my console has been in use for a bit that Yars' Returns starts crashing... Next free time I get I'll be pulling this 7800 apart to see if I can undo the Robot Tank mod to see if that makes a difference. Does look like a subtle timing issue, but it is interesting that the replacement cartridge is noticeably better than the original...
  24. My replacement cart just showed up minutes ago. Works perfect. I did not revert the Robot Tank mod on my 7800, so appears I just had not only an upside down but also a defective in some manner cart the first time!
  25. Bad as in "also installed upside down" or bad as in "defective even when properly oriented"?
