  1. Sheesh I'm a mess. Yeah I meant 4164. Luckily I'm not in too much of a rush to get it running. Got plenty of other stuff I can fix up in the meantime.
  2. No clue how they got there, bought it at a yard sale not too long ago. I do have a copy of Star Raiders on the way for that exact reason. It'll be here in a day or two. I also just ordered some TMS4161-15NL chips, hopefully those fix it when they finally get here from China. So I might have luck (even with the wrong RAM) popping in Star Raiders if everything else is in working order? Or will I still have to wait for the new chips to get here?
  3. Oh I think you're right! I'll try swapping those out first. Is there any way to test that now, or do I just have to wait for the new chips to get here?
  4. I have a working Atari 400. I also have an 800XL that gives me a quick green then black screen when turned on for the first time (after the first time, turning it on only produces a little click then a black screen, no quick green before the black). I'm wondering if I can use the 400's chips in the 800XL to try and find out where my problem lies. If so, does anyone have a reference I can use to tell which chips correspond to which? I have an image showing where all of them are on the 800XL, I just need to know which chips on the 400 correspond properly. I've already replaced a bad RAM chip that was hot on the 800, and still have nothing. Everything else feels cool/slightly warm to the touch after being turned on for 10 minutes. Holding option for 5 seconds then hitting select and start also does nothing. EDIT: I just pulled out the OS/ROM chip, and without it I get a flat green screen. Not sure if that helps anything. I have the dreaded 'ingot' power supply, and do plan to swap it out asap. It's currently providing the proper 5V though. I also added photos of my boards if it can help anyone tell me where to begin swapping.
