  1. Due To Mclaneinc's comments we will be halting any more overseas sales of venture until further notice.
  2. Understand this Mclaneinc, If we ever see a digital version of any of our games floating around, I WILL Close this company and we will Never produce another game. people like you are the reason so many game designers for retro systems have decided to close shop. the choice of media is OURS to make not yours. This is OUR work. We have two more game releases scheduled for release within the next year, but I will shelve them if I see our work being dumped and distributed around without our permission.
  3. As the situation sits right now it's only at Video61. I have to talk to al to see if he wants to get some for the AA store or not. Here are some videos of the Challenger mode First 3 levels/maps - Click Here Fourth level/map - Click Here
  4. Thanks Al. I Got back in. =) Digital Downloads? As I've Said Before. Never. Nuff Said. Don't ask me again please. 5200 Version. YES!!! We will be doing a 5200 conversion. I'm Hoping to get some help with this from the man who did the 5200 fort apocalypse conversion. =) Venture Has two major features.... 1, Challenger Mode. this mode has certain rooms that close the door behind you until you kill everything in the room and some rooms where the treasure will not appear until everything in the room is dead. This mode also features more monsters in the rooms and they are faster and smarter. There is also the addition of a Fourth Level Map, with new rooms and new monsters/traps. The Normal mode plays the game like the classic colecovision version. 2, Control Features. You can control like the original or use the new point and shoot control where you can hold down the fire button which will hold your aim where ever you want it and allow you to move while continuing to shoot.
  5. For the record, only 5 people have received a venture cart and that was an early version that had a LOT of bugs. The only reason it was released is because of a mis-communication with Video 61. Tep392 is correct. I'm not a coder. I'm the sound, graphics and the project director on almost all the games we do.
  6. Since S-Video is no longer available on most new TV's I experimented with some of the suggestions in this thread and came up with this..... Simple, But seems to work well for me. seems to eliminate the shadowing quite a bit.
  7. This Version Runs On Standard 64k and will activate features such as VBXE and Stereo Pokey IF it sees them. otherwise it will run using just single pokey or Standard GFX. Cartridges are pretty much the same price with or without these features Also, This Was by no means a bunch of small changes. this was a serious overhaul from Tempest Xtreem. new Graphics. New Digital Voices. New Line Routines and more. A Digital Dowload Will NEVER be available. we will just not do it. we've stated this many times before and If we lose a customer due to this, we really don't care. I will talk to pete about the Music On/Off Selection. that is a reasonable option in my opinion.
  8. That's a Good Question. Where are you getting the ground from? And yes, Screen shots would help.
  9. I tried tantalum capacitors In the first designs of this upgrade and had bad luck with them. the cap you use needs to be a one way cap also.
  10. OK the problem is the cap. it MUST be an electrolitic Capacitor and MUST be 22uF. This Should Solve quite a bit of the ghosting problem. Also Did You Cut The Traces that I marked in Picture "B" Never Mind I forgot those were for the switch if you used it.
  11. This Doesn't look Right to me. Let me look at my original Directions.
  12. Chuck Benton Edit: Oops, Already Answered.
  13. Just connect the Chroma and Luma together and run the chroma signal with NO resistance (Full Strength).
  14. Ah I see. Makes Sence. thanks Bryan. I was not aware of those facts.
  15. Hi There. I just noticed this thread. as far as the 400 goes the resistors that you put in are to help boost the luma signals coming out of the atari. but because they are are all linked, the resistor values that you use will always effect the other luma levels. Example: Changing the resistor on Luma 1 Will effect (Due to feedback through it's own resistor) the the resistance of Luma 0 and Luma 2. this will cause the colors to look wrong if they are too far off. hence forth you may get too dark or too light of some colors making it look funny. the resistor that I came up with are the closest Resistors I could find that were Readily Available at most component houses to make the picture look as accurate as I could. although they may be off a bit. This was always a problem with the 400 and 5200. the idea with this upgrade was to find a way to make the luma brighter without having to add a 3904 transistor to amp the signal. the circuit already had plenty of brightness, but for some reason atari put some heavy resistors on it and then chose to amp it up again after the fact. Wierd idea in my opinion.
  16. We Will be converting our Venture game for the 8-bit to the 5200 as soon as we have worked all the bugs out and relased the 8-bit version.
  17. This Project is still alive, but slow going.
  18. We have a dilemma. Some People have said that the game is not difficult enough. We have put in a challenger mode for the game but we are running out of space in the 32k cart. (the Cart must be 32k or less to do a 5200 release) So we have a choice: A) leave the game the way it is and not add a new Map or new rooms to the game which will keep the standard mode for the purists out there. OR B) we can dump the Standard Mode and make this game a more challenging Venture (Pun intended) overall with a new map, new baddies and new obstacles. Vote using the Poll here. I won’t answer comments or questions in public here.

  20. First off leet me begin by saying that I will not answer questions or Discuss anything here in the public forum. This post is strictly for information for the Atariage Community Concerning our release of Venture. 1. The 5 venture carts that were sold recently For The 8 Bit were not supposed to be sold at all. there was some basic miscommunication with lance at video 61 and he released them by accident. No Problem there, but due to the bugs that were in those versions, Lance is offering Exchanges on those 5 for the official release if those people wish to due so when they are available. 2. There will be NO digital releases. Ever. 3. Our Plan is to release Venture Jointly with Lance at Video61 and Al through the AtariAgae Store. The Atari 8 Bit Version Will Be First. So Basicly We Want AtariAge (Al) To Manufacture the Carts and any other Materials (Boxes, Manuals, Etc) For us and Lance will simply carry those in his store as well as Al Having them Available in the AA Store. 4. We Are Planning on a 5200 Release. 5. Fear Not Venture enthusiests, we are working on more things to increase the difficulty in Challanger Mode. Perhaps an Extra Never Before Seen Level. You never know. LOL If there are any basic questions Concerning Venture, I can be PM'd here on Atari Age. I will not respond to open discussion on The Forums. Thak you all. I hope this answers some of your questions. =) Sal (The Kjmann)
