Life’s 2 big “impossibles”, so it seems - following the arrows in a parking lot, and simply ignoring a troll online. People just can’t seem to do either of these.

First game finished for 2020 -- The Witcher on PC. Also, if I ever need to apply for a job as "errand boy," you'd better believe I'm gonna use that as my main qualification.

Within the next few weeks, I plan to hire an artist/designer to create a box for a NES game. Anyone on here do this type of work and may be interested?

A user on this site has a profile pic of a coffee cup with animated smoke/steam rising from it. Any idea who? I've seen it several times, and would like to use it as a reference for game art, but can't find it now.

Good job, Amazon! The $150.00 book set was damaged, but at least you save a few cents worth of bubble wrap!

Commissioning an artist to animate an 8-bit sprite, 16 x 16 pixels, between 10 – 20 frames. What’s a good price to offer? Don’t want to lowball anyone, but have no idea what the going rate is for something like that. Google searching placed it somewhere between 10 bucks and my firstborn. Thanks in advance!

Nothing really complicated. Basically a little square guy walking in 4 directions, 2 - 4 frames of animation in each direction. 16 x 16 pixels, 3 colors. Animation like the main character in "Minit" is the best example that comes to mind. We have the character design already, just not sure what $$ to offer the artist. He put it in my court, and I don't wanna lowball anyone, as I mentioned.

Top down right? 16x16 is pretty small and should not take much time to do. $10-20 ($1 per frame?) would seem about right to me for just a single sprite. Obviously if you were having them design the sprite it would be more. I know it would only take me about an hour to do, less if you already had a base sprite. But I'm used to using like 16 colors max (and 64x64 for most things) on sprites, 3 would be harder.

Any suggestions for a nice sprite/tile creation tool for a kid to use who's wanting to create 8/16 bit era graphics?

It took 11 months and 12 days, but I finally finished the entire Ys series! Started Book 1 last June, and finished part 8 tonight!

Blinking Light Win -- Anyone know the difference between BLW and AR-BLW?

Since "gaming disorder" is now officially a thang, per WHO, that mean I can get some medical leave from work when the next Fire Emblem releases?

Whoever made the decision to add a time limit to all mission in Ace Combat 7 should receive at least 2 kicks to the nuts as punishment.

Just finished Ys SEVEN. Great game, but that final boss was every ounce the bullcrap that I've always heard it would be.

I seem to be the only person on the planet who really enjoyed the series finale of GOT.

After playing a few hours, Fire Emblem Heroes really just seems like oodles of content (great) but not once ounce of actual gameplay. Big Fire Emblem fan here, but I don't know what they're going for with this thing, other than a quick cash grab.

New GOT had it's moments and was good overall, but the camera work jumped around enough to make a "bourne" movie jealous.

Finished Doom 2016 on PC and Ys V on SNES. Now to figure out what's next.

@deepthaw - Chronicles on PC is a great remake. It keeps everything about the originals intact, for better or worse, but updates sound/graphics/dialog and a few quality of life type of tweaks. If you didn't already like the games, I don't figure it'll change any opinions, but I had a blast replaying with a few updates, then tearing through the boss rush modes.

Ebay description -- Very Good. No scuffs or damage to disc, case, or booklet. Item received = beat to death, case insert and manual seems like they've been soaked in water.

Ever play a game you just can't figure out if you like? Really on the fence with Tanglewood at the moment.

Just heard a good ol' redneck cover band play a riveting version of Motley Crue's "Live Warrr" followed by ACDC's "Live Warrr"
