  1. I thought everyone but me loved Star Fox. I mean, I thought it was an absolute turd back when it was released (and still do) way before internet memes and sheep mental whatevers, and I caught a lot of crap for that. But I didn't realize it's turdness became known to the masses. I do love Starfox 64 3D on the 3DS though So would be pretty excited if Nintendo released another.
  2. Curious... What's a scenario where someone would "have to" wear a baseball cap? Other than baseball players I guess 😂. I'm not even sure if they're required to wear them.
  3. The "investor" thing explains a lot. Although I figured he was an Atari employee whose sole job was to debunk any and all "less than 100% positive" comments related to Atari, based on the annoying replies I've seen. I was looking at an Atari hat a short time ago. I put it back and picked up a Sega hat. By coincidence, I saw a dude lurking across from me giving me the stink eye. My first thought was "Holy shit! Wonder if that's that powerdubs guy!" I'm safe though, so I clearly bought the Atari hat instead of the Sega one.
  4. Yeah but with SNES and Genesis, it's not a "lose, lose" situation! The opposite really... No matter which console you get, you win!
  5. Yeah, I think if someone really tried to break it down, you'd be reading a post about the length of War and Peace. Warhammer is -- boardgames (pen n paper and strategy), video games, there are shooters, rts, turned based strategy, Hack n Slash, Fantasy (LOTR Style) Futuristic Sci-Fi (smace marines you mentioned), even a Turn Based "football" type of thing that's actually quite amazing. It's pretty vast. As far as Video games go, some are ok. Some are really good. These 3 are pretty amazing in my opinion -- Total War: Warhammer 2. (strategy) -- The "Total War" series is excellent as is. But what they've done with the Warhammer license was amazing. Warhammer: Vermintide 2 (Hack n Slash) -- so this one took the Left 4 Dead formula, plopped it into the Warhammer universe, and it's great. Can play solo, but best if you bring some friends and you've got a incredible game loop with tons of replay value. Blood Bowl 2 (turn based video boardgame) -- this one sounds stupid to try to describe it, but if I compiled a list of my top 3 "desert island games," this would absolutely be one of them. Its Warhammer's version of football with Humans, Orcs, Elves, Mages, etc, only played turn based as if you're playing a boardgame. But yep, it just works. One of my all time favorites. Part 1 is good. Part 3 is a bit of a turd. But part 2 was pretty much perfect. These are pretty big time sinks, though, and from some of your previous comments, I've gotten the impression that you didn't really care to invest a lot of time into "super nerdy" stuff and perhaps prefer games that are more "quick pick up n' play." So many of these - definitely the 3 I mentioned - might not be your cup of tea.
  6. Has it posted yet? I'm not seeing in on IGN, so could just be well hidden or I suck at finding stuff
  7. His Next Gen cocaine habit is gonna be unreal! Probably play like one of the modern Doom games.
  8. Except developing for the SNES. He's admitted many times he can't do that, sadly. And following simple instructions for installing dev tools. He couldn't do that either. And... Ah, this could go on all day.
  9. Something I've been curious about, and the one thing that always prevents me from getting something like this or Steam Deck -- if someone already has a pretty high end gaming PC and has no interest in playing handheld, do these still offer any benefit to warrant owning? I'm always interested in picking one up, but I'm not sure if it offers anything I don't already have.
  10. It only weighs about 2 pounds or so, so it shouldn't be hard to push it however far is needed. Honestly, though, I'd just pick it up and carry the thing, but I'm no tech guru, so y'all do whatever you feel is best.
  11. You can probably jam one in there if you try hard enough.
  12. Do the winners of these awards usually see a massive spike in sales? Based on all the inside info that got pushed at my company a while back, it really seems to translate to $$$ for music and movies, but I haven't seen anything about the gaming industry. I'm guessing "yes," but I don't think I've ever seen anyone say "well I wasn't interested, but I guess I'll buy it now that it has that "GOTY" quote on the box."
  13. I thought you mentioned that you went the Steam Deck route. After the comparisons, what was it about the Ally that made you decide on that one?
  14. Not worried, here. I have all their hardware, and they're all flawed but I like them anyways. I'm confident this will be the same. I was just curious to what they were considering "the catch." When's the embargo over? If you can say, that is.
  15. PSA:  Always make your "Safe Word" something you will remember.

  16. https://www.yankodesign.com/2023/12/04/analogue-duo-console-revives-turbografx-cartridges-and-cds-with-a-catch/amp/ I read that and I'm not sure what they're saying is "the catch." Unless the catch is "you gotta have the games," which is a really weird catch that would seem stupid applied to, well, anything. So I figure that's not it. Maybe I just overlooked it.
  17. Last spring, I hired someone to mow for me. They agreed to mow for a flat fee. They mowed about 1/10 of my lawn and quit. 😕 Maybe they feel the same way that you do and just figured "we mowed... we didn't promise to mow it ALL... but we mowed."
  18. What's the reward for something like that? Creep wins = Amico is awesome and coming out. Pat wins = it's crap and never happening?
  19. I'm sure you meant to type "maybe someone else can get out and push so Tommy can take credit for it" and that damn autocorrect changed it.
  20. It's been a slow year for me and modern games, but I finished a couple recently -- Mario Wonder (Switch) -- Extremely creative, but the lack of difficulty really killed it for me. I enjoyed it ok overall, but I doubt it's anything I'll come back to. Sea of Stars (PS5) -- This one was amazing. It managed to capture the best of the 16 bit RPGs as we remember them through nostalgia goggles, which is always difficult, I'd imagine. It did seem to drag on a bit, in my opinion, but since it's not a very long game, could just be me in a mood or something. My only real knock on it is -- it seems to lock a "true boss and ending" behind some ridiculous collect-athon BS, so I have no desire to go through that just to see the "real" boss. Mario RPG (Switch) -- good game overall. But playing it right after Sea of Stars was a mistake. The two were similar enough to where Mario RPG really felt cheap, rushed, and clunky when played back to back following Sea of Stars.
  21. I finally started Forbidden West this weekend and wow... I loved the first one quite a bit, but the first few hours of this one is giving me some pretty high hopes for what's ahead.
  22. They give the PC guys something to squawk about while troubleshooting and provide a common topic that helps them feel better about their sad selves (or something... I dunno why they feel the need to constantly mouth off about how much better their plastic toys are than others' plastic toys, but they sure as heck do... a lot) so I think those "other systems" provide a valuable service. 🤣 That could be a hard void to fill if it were taken away. With nothing but PC left, those guys have to shout about "my mouse is better than your mouse" or "my font is superior to your font" or some other such silliness.
