  1. Yes, and the graphical details in the game are amazing. This title shows what the Lynx is capable of in almost every aspect. I can imagine way back when the Lynx was new this must have been a very impressive/next-gen game.
  2. Meeting with Jaguar enthusiastics and playing the networkgames as you mentioned, is great but not for the casual gamer I guess. Therefore setting up such an event with people who have the consoles/games/equipment/time/motivation and live in the same area might not be an easy task? Your enthusiasm is nice and I wish you good luck, however seeing the lack of responses to your invitation I would not set my hopes too high.
  3. If you use an original PSU, then skip the measuring and (in your case) take it for granted that voltages are good. Otherwise let someone who knows electronics do the measuring for you. I mean the vertical mounted plate as in the picture below. You can take it out and clean the contacts of the plate and slot. Also make sure that the cartridge slot of the Jaguar console is clean.
  4. If the laser-unit is brand new, I would not touch that screw. Be sure that the contact "plate" that fits in the Jaguar-slot and the inside (slot) of the Cd player is clean and makes good contact. Since you've already replaced the laser it should be easy for you to dismantle the unit again for checking this plate-slot connection. Are you sure that the PSU is giving the correct voltage and amps? Maybe you should check that out first.
  5. I agree, the Jaguar logo looks great. If the second run will have the Jaguar logo on the box and cart, I might consider to wait for that version to buy.
  6. With Shanghai you have to take your time and try to think forward before making a move, like what are the consequences for the other tiles when you make "this" particular move? Don't just select the visible matching tiles, as you might need one of these further in the game
  7. I would probably hesitate to answer to such a "demanding" question.
  8. After madman's post, I rushed to the site to order the game. Being in Europe, this game costs approx. 100,- USD, including shipping, and that is without taxes, and import fees. So no Switchblade II for me on the Jaguar, I enjoy it on the Lynx, and can play it on the ST. Bummer, though...
  9. You probably had your reasons for that. For what it's worth, I enjoy(ed) your games and think these are a very nice addittion to the Jaguar games library!
  10. Have you tried already what Stephen Moss suggested, connecting 5V across C41?
  11. For me, IS2 is not as enjoyable as IS1, despite the excellent graphics and audio, as I don't like the escort missions very much. Therefore I consider it a good game, but these "escorts" are holding it back from being a GREAT game
  12. There are some very nice tunes in this game, thanks for uploading
  13. Have you used these yourself, and are these easy to use? I've tried some reproduction overlays, and while looking nice an good fit, pressing keypad-buttons was not great as the overlay was too sturdy.
  14. I don't think that it always has something to do with odds or luck. If you don't mind the running playtime, and take your time to think forward before making a move, chances are that you'll beat the map. It's easy to just select the matching tiles that are displayed, but you have to consider that hidden ones might be needed later on. Maybe that today's games are made easier (to achieve something) for the mainstream "gamers" ?
  15. Nice story, JagChris I could say how it bothers me that you couldn't speak to Mike some more, but what really bothers me is the question that remains unanswered..... Who is "the grey haired guy who not shut up" ??
  16. What Saturn and Ericde45 said! This is a lovely game

    New TV

That's a great setup! If the picture is not bad enough to -like you said- annoy me, I probably would leave it as it is. Tilting the yoke is a precise job and it might get worse, or maybe you will succeed with it.
  18. It's nice that you received the game Did you order the standard black cartridge, or is it actually grey just like the original cartridge releases?

    Eirievale

Interesting to see the name of Marcus Losbjer in the credits.
  20. I think it's fair that mr. Beard gets the Pro Controller
  21. Fly through the field straight forward, moving the crosshair up/down to blast the asteroids to pieces (literally) before they make contact with your ship. I only move left/right to shoot the pods(?) for points, but just as little to keep flying straight ahead as possible.
  22. The difference in the early and later (definitive) version of the gamer's guide-flyer up close.
