I had a choking fit. I tried to eat some pizza but it wouldn't stay down. I must have been in the bathroom for at least 15 minutes until I barfed up a huge wad of something. Then I could eat again. This isn't the first time, either. I think there's something wrong with my throat.

Tonight I tried using Google Street View to go look at the house I grew up in and the places I spent time at when I was young, none of which I've laid eyes on in almost 15 years. It was a strange experience, more sad than nostalgic. Seeing everything that had changed and how even the things that hadn't were different than I remember them being. I guess you really can't ever go home again.

My niece's laptop died, so I gave her my nice Lenovo Chromebook so she can do her homework assignments. I've been using our spare Windows laptop. I'm ready to rage quit Windows and put Ubuntu on this thing.

In a real tough spot right now. College didn't work out like I thought it would, and finding a job in this town is difficult. Plus, I have doubts that the novel I wrote is good enough to publish.

You can't even watch a fucking AVI file on your xbox without being logged in. Our ADSL and NBN have been so poor they disconnect when it rains. This means we literally get locked out of our own devices. Fuck modern technology. Seriously. Fuck this.

If an Atari 2600 game needs more than ½k, it shouldn't be made. Inefficient programmers will want to bloat the code up to as high as 2k, but that just shows their lack of skill and talent.

Is it really so hard to format a 64GB SD card in Fat32? I can't seem to figure it out...

Nintendo DRM: - new console - have to buy entire library again - oh some games will never be rereleased - $20 equates to some prime number of points - always have 200 points left over

Picking up prescriptions is a lousy time to find out your insurance got cancelled and the letter saying so got lost in the mail. Just spent 4 hours trying to find another plan I could afford. My head hurts.

20-100 gig downloads and patches? Have game developers gone bonkers? That was the size of a desktop computers entire hard drive not too long ago, and many consoles are still only 500gb. When does the madness end, and what's next?

Does anyone else still prefer it when portable devices use AA batteries rather than built in rechargeable battery packs? With AA batteries I can just pop in a fresh set of rechargeable AAs whenever the device runs dry, whereas with built in packs I have to plug it into the wall and wait an hour before I can use it again.
-
Frequently built in batteries are used to take your freedom away from having complete control over your device.
Think about all the iPhones that have their batteries ruined!
I also think devices should be designed with battery life in mind... So AA batteries which are easy to switch out seem way more convenient than having to charge!

I love how it's virtually impossible to use the web with non-free java script disabled. The web is terrible now

I code or make hardware in my spare time, because my job as a solutions architect is anything but... a soul drain. fml.

I think I might leave Facebook. Sorry to post negative statuses all the time, but the Sydney political activist environment has so many fruit loops. I honestly didn't think I'd end up letting bullies get to me.
