  1. This game is amazing! Also amazing is the quality of new Pac games for the VCS over the years. First in 82 we had the original Atari Pac Man and just thought that was the best they could do then Ms Pac was released and was so much better. Then came Ebivision Pac Man then A Better PacMan hack then Nukey's Pac Man hacks then Debro Pac Man which I THOUGHT was the pinnacle and now THIS which in my opinion is more like the arcade than all of the rest. Bravo!
  2. You did good Very addictive. I have the 2600emu on my phone and I handed it to my little girl who said "Its like Flappy Bird" and naturally I lost my phone for thirty minutes.
  3. I never played the phone game but heard a lot about it. IS this the bird from Joust! in this version? It sure reminds me of him. I am digging this game.
  4. McCartney's new video for "Appreciate" takes place in the future at the Museum of Man and features kids playing an Atari 2600
  5. Do any of the AA members program Android apps? There are TONS of pinball games on the market and most of them are too simple or just shoddy. I do like Pinball Arcade but I would love to see a classic early style flipperless pinball game developed. Something along the lines of Ballyhoo or Baffle Ball. Anyone here feel the same or interested in tackling such an idea? If this is in the wrong forum feel free to move it.

  7. I used the Vignette app to make this look like something from the eightes and had my daughter play Centipede
  8. Atari 2600 Emulator vs Original Console? The answer? I don't give a damn. I like both of them the same. If I like a game on one I will like it on the other. Gameplay not Hardware!

  9. I don't know how to vote. I use two different types. My Atari 2600 is hooked up to a 1980 Rutherford/Curtis Mathes console CRT and my NES is hooked up to a Sanyo LCD.

  11. I researched what the "Rutherford" TV is. It is a rental model from Colortyme TV rental and is a rebranded Curtis Mathes. It has a July 1980 mfg date on the back. The PERFECT set to play Space Invaders on
  12. Thanks guys I wish it was the original TV we had as a kid which was a 1977 Zenith console model but this one will do. SOMEONE owned it in the 80's Im sure lol
  13. For the first time in 3 years I hooked up my old original Vader console I got in '82. I wanted to show my daughter what playing Atari USED to look like since she is so used to seeing me play via emulation on my phone or the laptop. I hooked it up to an old Rutherford console TV I found at a thrift shop.
  14. Reindeer Rescue! I have played this every Christmas season It is a GREAT game but just like Jingle Bell Rock this time of year is the only time that I let myself enjoy it. Anyone else enjoy it in a seasonal manner?
  15. An all time favorite! I spent many many hours sitting on a stool in '89 at the gameroom playing Golden Axe. A friend called the Axe machine my "living room" because I had a stool and ashtray and my drink sitting on it I have been playing it a lot on Gameboy Advance lately. Still love it.
  16. Pretty much. The games I play all work ok with them and it's good enough for me.
  17. Oh I'm sure the controllers are GREAT but I normally game with my phone, using it as a handheld device. I play in short bursts and usually at work so it pretty much gets used like a Gameboy The 2600 games work exceptionally well in that manner with touch controls. Sometimes I will Mis-Tap during an NES game but it's no big deal.

  19. Am I the only one who doesn't really have a problem with touch screen d pads and buttons on classic emulators? I have the 2600.emu , JohnNES, JohnGBC and JohnGBA on my android phone and on my daughter's Android tablet and they all work just fine to me. I know a bluetooth gamepad would probably feel a bit better but NOT enough for me to lug around a controller when I can use the controls right there on my screen. Maybe I'm in the minority but I would be I am not especially when it comes to people gaming on a smartphone.
  20. I can only reply for what is true for myself and my personal friends. When the NES started to get huge we had not touched our Atari consoles in a couple years and the craze of videogames being in every thrifty mart and grocery store had also ended. The NES was HUGE and got our minds back on videogames and the fact that games were rented in Video Stores alongside VHS tapes made it even that much bigger. In my opinion Nintendo brought gaming back in a big way.
