Have you tried it yet? There are a couple reddit posts that say it works but the mode button is either really tight or doesn't work. Maybe there were very small variations in the MK1653 for some reason? I have a kit coming but had a SJ6000 to use it in. Maybe I will try it in a MK1653 first and see how it fits.

Yeah that worked. Thanks. would be nice not to have to swap controllers but oh well.

Is there a way to use Master System controllers? I have a Mega Everdrive x7 and would like to play a master system game using a master system controller but the 1 and 2 buttons don't work in the mega sg menu so I can't do anything. Is there a setting I am missing or are they just not compatible? I am using the stock firmware 4.3. I tried turning on passthrough mode with my 3 button genesis controller but it just froze the Mega SG and had to restart the system.. I see Analogue's website says this: "We will be bringing original controller support to as many other systems as possible. Just like Super Nt, we'll be taking feedback from users and continuing to develop for added compatibility and features after release. " so maybe they just aren't working yet? It doesn't really answer the question. Edit - I found the controller test and the controllers work fine but the buttons act like B and C. Any way to get one of them acting like button A so you can make menu choices?

I feel like Sega CD prices are skyrocketing currently. I have a model 2 but wanted to pick up a model 1 and they are going for like $300+. I am not sure if this is because of the Mega SG or if they've always been priced like that. Even the model 2 in decent condition are like $200.

Lol, bummer man.

I read about one person had trouble if they pushed the sd card all the way in. Maybe pull the sd card out ever so slightly before turning it on? Also, you remembered to format it to FAT32? If your card is larger than 32GB you might need some other program to format it apparently as well so maybe stick to 32GB or smaller.

Any idea why you would want or need to load the sms bios from the Mega Everdrive if the Mega SG can play the games anyway? What advantage would there be?
-
From the manual: "The jailbreak will not run Virtua Racing 2 because it uses the Sega Virtual Processor (SVP) chip, nor will it run 32x ROMs."
-
Not really. The thing is the M30 is modeled more after the Model 2 Saturn controller. I am not sure why 8bitdo did that but they did. Probably because it is a very comfortable design. The Joyzz is modeled exactly like the 6 button Genesis controller so if you want a wireless experience closer to stock then the Joyzz is the better option. I would say the size is very similar though. The ends of the 6-button and the Joyzz stick outward and down slightly further.

Dang, I didn't know the Everdrive-GG was one of the bad carts...I figured his carts were all good in that area. Could Kevtris have designed the Nt Mini, Super Nt and Mega SG to handle higher voltage flash carts knowing they exist? I don't suppose there is any way to reduce the voltage on the affected carts is there? I have installed an Ultrahdmi and hidefnes so I wouldn't mind having to modify it but just would need instructions if it is possible.

Anyone else think a jailbreak maybe isn't coming to this system? Wouldn't it severely reduce the need to purchase the adapters Analogue wants to sell? I mean I hope it does but isn't it sort of the same reason we probably won't see a Genesis core released for the Super Nt even though it would now be possible (or the SNES core to the Mega SG)? I know it's pretty early but has the mysterious jailbreaker of the Super Nt said anything about it?

FedEx has a similar program called "FedEx Delivery Manager". It shows incoming packages on a calendar the same way UPS MyChoice does and you can sign for and manage the deliveries. Unless maybe you're not in the US and they don't offer the program to other countries? You have to know some weird questions to verify your identity...like they are connected to whatever database USPS uses or something so you might have to know like really old addresses or even what vehicles you used to own or whatever and if you get the questions wrong they make you sign up using a physical piece of mail with a code on it sent to you which wouldn't help you if you were trying to sign up immediately. I found this out because I couldn't answer the questions, lol... Like one asked what address I had lived at previously but it listed two of my previous addresses or something so I have no idea which one it wanted me to pick. https://www.fedex.com/apps/fdmenrollment/

I feel like sending a new top would be the least expensive way to fix this for the people who want it fixed. The return shipping and shipping of the new system for the entire console from the overseas people is just so expensive. If they could get there correct top and just send one to the affected people (rather than using that shipping company) they would probably get by the least costly way. If it was the shipping company screw up I assume they would eat the cost though.

I bet a revised Nt Mini would be super easy for them. They would basically just need to update the case. I would imagine it would be easy for Kevtris to put the NES core on the Super Nt or Mega Sg board. There is clearly demand based on Nt Mini prices. It seems like a no-brainer and then just continually sell the Nt Mini, Super NT and Mega SG. I do hope they focus on the DAC and cartridge adapters before any large new projects.
-
I received both of mine today and they were correct (USA and JPN). They are quite nice. Hopefully Analogue releases the DAC soon.

For the people who got the wrong color and are going to wait to have it swapped out what is Analogue's process for that? Do you just have to hope they contact you when they get more in stock or do you get some sort of new order confirmation or something that is similar to when you preordered it? The preorders were paid for so long ago I am not even sure credit card companies would allow a dispute at this point if Analogue decides not to play ball.
-
Oh man. You always keep 10% extra stock in case of defects or whatever... I ordered two so the wait wouldn't be so bad in my case but it would be disappointing if you wanted to swap it and you only got one.
-
Sending the wrong console is going to be a costly mistake for them. They are going to need to send the correct one and a return label and then on top of that some people will have opened the wrong one so it won't be able to be sold new again. I wouldn't be happy about it and wouldn't settle for the wrong one.

Depending on your budget you may want to take a look at Krikzz's controller. It is shaped more like a stock controller rather than a Saturn controller or whatever the 8bito is modeled after and reviews of it seem to be good. The lag is low for a wireless controller (similar to 2.4ghz...much better than bluetooth). They are spendy though. https://krikzz.com/store/home/52-sega-genesis-joyzz-wireless-controller.html

I bet a lot of people here have an Everdrive type device. I know I do so a Jail Break is more a quality of life thing for me (except on the Nt Mini where it unlocked a bunch of cores)
-
Considering the NES and SNES run slightly faster than 60hz (apparently 60.0988) I am surprised you cannot use the Super Nt for speedrunning. You'd be putting yourself at a disadvantage already by using a 60hz system and then hooking it up to a display that has input lag of it's own. I see the Genesis runs slightly below 60hz so I can see why that wouldn't be allowed if you can't output the stock frequency.
-
I would imagine something like a Mega Everdrive probably uses quite a bit more power than a regular cart as well and it seems like Kevin was probably careful to account for that.
-
All power adapters should have markings. They may be molded or printed and hard or faint to see. Possibly even on the face of the brick like between the prongs. It will say something like "Output" and list a voltage and Amperage. If you have any without those markings you really shouldn't use them for anything. The cable shouldn't matter.
-
That cart adapter is how the clear Super Nt was supposed to look. Would have been cool. It's such a cool look seeing the PCB and inner workings of stuff like this.
-
Looking at those consoles in the background I am surprised you didn't get a white one (unless you bought more than one )
