[So I went to this estate sale...]

Oh, I am very familiar with the pitfalls of reel-to-reel audio. This is my second deck--the other one is a pretty sweet Akai, so I am going to have to have a shootout between that and the one I purchased today (it's a Sony/Superscope), and it's probably the weakest item out of the whole system (still should sound pretty good, though).

 

Grabbed a few tapes today, but it does not look like anything rare or especially cool.

 

I grew up listening to tape and have already archived many of my parent's recordings. Not exactly "rare" as they are just recordings off of the radio, but the commercials are GOLD. My mom taped about a year's worth of the local classic rock station's "get the Led out" show and sure, the Zep is cool and all, but man oh man the commercials. Crazy. Got those all in nice Apple lossless, stream'em right off the music server.

 

But it's ALWAYS fun to play with analog!

Wow, I failed to notice all of these great comments. Yeah, it was not the best selection of games, but I made my money back selling the rarer ones. A couple were sealed, which really helped out. I still have the bulk of the selection and I used some of the cash to buy myself a Wii gun and Mad Dog for the Wii because I really did have some fun with that one.

 

I really have had fun drinking while playing these!

Well, the auction description said they "needed a good cleaning" and I thought I had seen it all, so I went ahead with it. The pictures looked pretty terrible, they just did not capture the odors. Bad decision. I've decided to just leave no feedback at all and take it as a lesson learned.

 

Dang Phil did you email the seller back about the condition of the items?

I don't know, I've seen PLENTY of Bolo ties in Vegas. I think there's actually one casino where the dealers do wear them, if I only I had been sober enough to remember which one I could tell you...

There's been some interest--everyone thinks the shipping it too high, but the case + computer weighs 15 lbs.! So I changed the shipping to the calculated method, so everyone can type in their ZIP code and see for themselves. I shudder to think about the shipping to Alaska!
