  1. brew install atari800 There are issues running windowed with SDL hardware acceleration enabled though (it's an apple/sdl problem, not an atari800 problem)
  2. And I forgot to mention that you can now specify memory over 320KB from the command line, the switches -576XE and -1088XE now exist. The switches -stereo and -nostereo which only used to work on some builds now work on linux and Mac builds too. For some reason they don't appear in the --usage page though.
  3. Another change that made it into 5 is the ability to remap all of the F keys to match Altirra or work better with a Pi400 or whatever you like after a discussion here
  4. try opening a terminal window and typing atari800 something should happen, even if its an error message let us know what happens
  5. It meant that people were downloading the STL's and reselling them against the terms of the license I released them under so I removed them. @tf_hh is selling syschecks with the case and I get a small cut for each one he sells, so while that is still happening the stls for the syscheck case will remain unavailable. When @tf_hh gives me the go-ahead I will be putting them on atari8bit.net for free. At the moment I'm in the process of updating the site and putting all the other stl's I've designed up there. I'll still be selling everything on therobotfactory.net for people who can't/don't want to print their own when I get the chance to start printing again. The sales volumes don't make it much of a priority tbh, it's just a bit of fun.
  6. I might have one or two laying around. I’ll have a look in my parts bin this weekend and let you know.
  7. Given post #1 (Does it have as many good games as the C64) I'm going to guess the OP isn't into running OSS languages, SDX and an internal HDD so he wasn't thinking my-ide when he said AtariMax Cart. Assuming all options are suitable for all use cases is... well... yaknow.
  8. That's why I do Atari and Amiga. I emulate everything else.
  9. Because an Atarimax cart is flash memory, needs special hardware and software to flash it and has a fixed size (1MB). The other carts are all multicarts that use SD for storage so will hold everything at once, need no special hardware or software other than a pc that can see fat32 and don't need to convert anything to make it compatible before you can use it. @Tillek no opinions about which is the best, just my justification for rejecting Atarimax, which is what I was asked for.
  10. Reason to get one: you want one. Reason not to get one: you don't want one. If you were in Europe the 8-bits were primarily cassette based, like the C64 was. In the US it was primarily Disk based. Carts were expensive and there were far fewer 3rd party cart titles than magnetic media titles. Don't get an Atarimax cart, get an Ultimate/Side/AVG cart. +1 for Tillek's comment. Emulate until you decide if it's for you or not.
  11. The pictures are definitely of 3d printed connectors but the pages are tagged Lotharek so maybe they are just pics Gavin had laying around that saved him taking new ones?
  12. What multicart are you loading it from?
  13. Are the gerbers/stl's for the ECI/PBI connectors available?
  14. My TNFS server is up-to-date now (might still be a couple of B10L entries I need to update)
  15. The volume dial is SIO audio/SAM etc. volume, the mini USB is the port for firmware upgrades like the one on the external Fujinet (though you do still need to press the A button when you turn it on to go into update mode.
  16. Yes, the holes for both SIO and ECI/PBI have always been there, on earlier boards it was in the corner of the board diagonally and not easy to reach, newer boards its straight and near the edge. Both ports are now populated by default but earlier ones needed to have the connector added. @tmp and @lewiS sell ECI cables but only @tmp has both lengths, the longer one is to get the little extra needed for the earlier boards. @lewiS has the PBI cable available, @tmp doesn't have the PBI cable on his site yet. No word on whether there are two lengths of cable needed for the PBI like there is for the ECI, I'm hoping there is enough slack in the XL cable that it works for all versions of the AVGCART but it may just be that @lewiS doesn't stock the longer cable in the same way that he doesn't stock the longer ECI. I pointed out the lack of longer ECI cables to @lewiS on Facebook a while ago, noting that he should say on the page that the short cable is for newer AVGCARTS only. Instead of updating as suggested, he just got super defensive. The site still sells one length only and doesn't warn users it may not fit. This is why when people ask my advice, I don't mention his site.
  17. Sio connector was added fairly recently. It wasn’t there from the beginning. The header was there, unpopulated just like the eci/pbi one is.
  18. Anything on Facebook is regurgitation of info from Atariage
  19. I added something about the eci/pbi tonight. I’ll finish it tomorrow
  20. Could someone please test that my TNFS server is working OK? I got a new ISP at the weekend and had to reconfigure everything. It shows as 'up' to my scripts but I've had no visitors for a few days. Fujinet.atari8bit.net or tnfs.atari8bit.net should both work.
  21. I've updated De Re AVGCART with the info and a download of the SDX.CAR
  22. The NUC Fujinet design has been released by @mytek , the cart port version is the same schematic with another separate schematic where the cart port is constructed from the various pins on the NUC board, no part of the cart port overlaps with the Fujinet, it just shares the same PCB. Having said that, I also very much hope the schematic gets released when @MacRorie has recouped his costs.
  23. That's entirely up to @MacRorie, I handed it all over to him.
