  1. Is it standard Adventure or does it have the FlashBack2 title "Adventure 2" on it as well? Wouldn't it be awesome if it had all the other hacks like Misadventure, Adventure Plus, Suicide Adventure, etc. as well?
  2. Sweet! I might get an iPhone / iPod Touch just to play this! Is it standard Adventure or does it have the FlashBack2 title "Adventure 2" on it as well? Wouldn't it be awesome if it had all the other hacks like Misadventure, Adventure Plus, Suicide Adventure, etc. as well?
  3. While I agree I admire Nintendo for trying new things, I have become unhappy with how they seem to be doing it to the exclusion of hard core gamers. I love how Adam Sessler talked about their E3 conference this year on Sessler's Soapbox. He compared Nintendo to the geeky kid in high school who has suddenly become popular with the cool crowd (meaning casual gamers). Nintendo have forgotten their old friends in exchange for the cool crowd and we all know how these scenarios end. The cool crowd eventually drops the geeky kid and when he goes back to his old friends, they don't want to talk to him anymore. Luckily in recent months Nintendo have seemed to have learned their lesson. They even apologized for E3. They should apologize for Wii Music but that's just my personal opinion. Sure, make new things and try something different, but can we please have some hard core games again?? Where are the shooters, flying games, racing games (and I don't mean rubber-banding Mario Kart)?
  4. I want to play the Seven Cities of Gold, or something like it, on my GBA. Can anyone recommend either a game that's similar or an emulator for the original game that is loadable on the GBA?
  5. I've got it. It's good but ..... Okay there's a story mode but it can be finished in half an hour. Nice boss fights though. There's an arcade mode where you can play one of three tables. They play pretty decently, got nice graphics, good Alien Crush vibe going on. Only thing is the ball physics are a bit weak and although you use wiimote and nunchuk, you nudge the table using the wiimote, not the nunchuk. Figure that one out. Good use of surround sound and rumble. It's a bit short of an experience, but hey it's only 800 points so I say it's worth the price. They say more tables will be coming as DLC.
  6. Good news folks, Alien Crush Returns is out today! Wooohoo! I'll be downloading this one as soon as I get home!!
  7. The first night I played Guitar Hero World Tour I just skipped over the whole creation process for my character and band so I could just hop right in and try out the first songs. Loved it a lot. Last night I decided to actually edit my character and come up with my own name for a band. Everything is working great. I have one question though. When I finish a song, the details of my success (note streak, % of notes hit, etc.) just says "player1" not the name of my character. How do I edit my player profile so I'm not called "player1"? I've gone through all the editing sections and can't find anything.
  8. Yikes, it looks like we are wise not to buy the instruments. Says here Gamestop is doing a major recall since the drums don't work very well and the guitars aren't always registering or having whammy bar issues. http://www.scorehero.com/forum/viewtopic.p...asc&start=0
  9. I just bought the standalone version of World Tour last night for my Wii for exactly that reason. I am using the GH III guitar and it works just fine. The only thing with the newest guitar is the touchpad thingy but the reviews I have read have said it's a neat concept but it doesn't work very well. No tactile indication of what notes you are strumming and easy to get lost on harder songs. You can get by without it. And yes World Tour played alone with a previous model guitar is as enjoyable as the previous games, even more. More songs and you do like a band tour thing where you gain cash for playing different venues and such. More of a single player campaign of sorts.
  10. As far as what's out right now definitely Metroid Prime Corruption and I happened to like Call of Duty 3 (though some didn't). But if you can wait a little, Call of Duty World at War is due out soon and uses the COD4 engine for Wii so that should be impressive. And soon The Conduit will come out (early next year maybe?) and it will blow away all other shooters on the Wii.
  11. Darn, Alien Crush Returns did not come out today on Wiiware. GoNintendo said the developers promised it would come out "in October" and since this is the last week in October I figured that meant today. Oh well, still looking forward to it whenever it does come out.
  12. There's even more good news for you then. Alien Crush Returns is rumored to come to North America Wiiware this coming week (assuming you're in North America) http://wii.ign.com/objects/142/14273092.html
  13. The game is so bad, it made the "Top 25 worst Nintendo Games of All Time" list... http://www.gamedaily.com/articles/gallerie...-games/?page=20
  14. I'm still hoping someone makes a 2600 homebrew of Tennis For Two http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...=119516&hl=
  15. I got it and didn't like it much. The controls really don't work well for me. Plus, you would think being Jango Fett with a jetpack would make for some awesome gaming. No. They just design crazy levels with gantries, outcrops, and conveyor belts that are difficult to navigate. Decent graphics but not fun gameplay in my opinion.
  16. Hey all, for those who don't own this awesome DVD, IGN are showing the Once Upon Atari episodes this week. Check it out. http://retro.ign.com/articles/922/922960p1.html (sorry to plug IGN but this is awesome news)
  17. No argument from me (I'm no Nintendo fanboy). At this point I am starting to grow fond of Sony who have stated categorically that they intend to have a ten year life cycle for their consoles.
  18. Definitely try out Dancing Eyes http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?game_id=11658 And Prop Cycle (if you can get it to run) http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?game_id=9139
  19. My guess is these days any video game company is scared they may end up like Sega so they avoid talking smack now. What I mean is, Sonic and Crash were once lording their supremacy over Mario back in the 90's and now they come pleading to Nintendo to allow them to have games for Nintendo systems. Back in the 90's it was all about kicking butt and taking names but the casualties of that campaign have piled up. These days, everyone is playing nice with the big three platforms. "Can't we all just get along?"
  20. Sorry folks, I didn't mean to start a flame war with this post. You all bring up valid points in defence of Microsoft. Call me old fashioned (ironic given this is an Atari forum) but I'm not thrilled when a company changes their hardware and promptly dumps all support for their previous model. And just for the record I am no Nintendo fanboy, I wear my Fuji logo with pride. However, I do applaud Nintendo for at least providing backwards compatibility. Can I ask how any of you felt back in the day when the 5200 came along and Atari bluntly let you know your entire collection of 2600 cartridges were now useless on the new machine? Just curious. Not trying to fan the flames or anything. I figure it's a valid question and could make for interesting debate.
  21. I'm a bit befuddled by that comment. Other than the Wii, there aren't any natively backward compatible Nintendo consoles (not talking about handhelds here.) What are the other ones I'm forgetting? Point taken, I was considering handhelds when I said that.
  22. A valid point except that Nintendo makes their consoles backwards compatible. And I don't mean downloadable content, I mean you can stick the original game into the new device and it will work. Microsoft instead drops all support for last year's model forcing gamers to buy the new version, much like their operating systems (although at least with those Microsoft is kind enough to support the last two generations before putting them out to pasture). Sony is odd in that it does a little of both. Certain PS3's will play PS2 games but not all of them. What's up with that?
  23. The punks at Microsoft have today hinted craftily about the next iteration of the Xbox. Nice guys, way to continue to gouge your gamer customers. http://360.kombo.com/article.php?artid=14725 Might as well throw away those 360’s folks, Microsoft will be switching to the new machine all too soon. Like they did with the original XBox. Money grubbing thieves that they are.
  24. I would like to recommend Super Smash Brothers Brawl since it sounds right up your alley but the online was supremely laggy. At least that was my experience when the game first came out. I don't know if they fixed that these days or not. Other good online games.... Guitar Hero III Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 All Play Medal of Honor Heroes 2 You may want to wait for The Conduit though because it will blow all other FPS games out of the water with its online. Same goes with Guitar Hero, since World Tour comes out in two weeks and sounds really full of features (including downloadable content). So really, Tiger Woods is your best option for now.
  25. And don't forget Space Invaders Get Even. I can't wait for that to come to North America. By the way, speaking of region releases, I hear they will port Rogue Trooper to the Wii this Winter but given we in North America don't even read 2000 AD comics (except myself obviosuly) I'm not sure if it's coming here. Does anyone know?
