That's good to know, I didn't realize the Coleco port was that far off but after reading what you said I compared the arcade and Coleco and the differences become more clear. The port seems rushed....but then again I believe it was parker bros so that explains alot. I never knew a prototype existed for the Coleco so I'll have to check it out.
I'm really looking forward to this release on the 5200, I think itll be one of the best home versions
Yea that's crazy! The original Atarisoft release of Galaxian is a super rare game and complete in box is still cheaper than this. Not sure if it's the same game or not but the original Atarisoft version rocks. Go pick up a loose cart and you'll know what I mean
The 5200 version has better colors, multi colored sprites and finer details. I love the colecovision but its version of jungle hunt with mostly solid colored sprites, colors that seem off and flat backgrounds doesn't compare. The 5200 buries it. Of course the arcade is the best version...as it should be
I cant even imagine how much time, effort and dedication that goes into porting these games over but they they are amazing in every way and played and placed next to the commercially released games look like they belonged there the whole time. That's why I never question how long they take because once they finally arrive and I open the box I, as well as other gamers who have a love for video games will have their answer
Hopefully my cart holds up because it's the only one I have and it took me to forever to find it. Also, hopefully you're wrong about the all green cases because it matches by rock n bolt case perfectly from style, material, and aging.
Its ridiculous how good these games play on the Jag and the quality involved from the carts, manuals and boxes are first rate. Everyone involved deserves tons of praise and gratitude. The Jag and Coleco are my two of my favorite systems to collect for because of the huge homebrew community
