Thanks folks.... Here's what I got so far..... Hitting break repeatedly doesn't work. Star Raiders doesn't load..... However PacMan, silicon warriors, frogger and asteroids does. But with no sound and no keyboard response...other than reset, option, select and start. I tried other carts I have and no luck at all..eastern front, basic, pilot I'm hoping this narrows down the possibilities of where the fault is. Thanks a bunch guys, I appreciate your knowledge here....

Not much luck so far, trying to source a POKEY. I did read a thread where some folks essentially baked the Chip (heat) with some success. Seems far fetched, but I believe they had some success. I'm located in NJ. No donor available, unfortunately.

I reseated the pokey and pia chips, but no joy. Not sure what my next move is other than try and replace the POKEY. it's a bit strange to me, since I used for a few hours last night with no issues. Turned it on this morning and nada. Guess they can fail without warning.

Hi All!! My beloved 400 is having an issue where, when powered on, I get a blue screen and no memo pad. Same when a cart is installed. The blue screen will not change when keys are pressed but the reset does flip into another blue screen. Also holding start during power up will make the classic buzz output sound ... I reseasted the chips on the processor board, but that didn't change anything. I don't know where to go from here, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

When playing either of these games on a 2600, player one will shoot and but no bullets are seen, nor do they inflict damage. In Outlaw after shooting, player one is stuck in kneeling position frozen. Player 2 functions fine. Swapping joysticks the problem remains on player one side. Is this indicative of a cartridge issue or console issue? Also Missiles are missing from Missile Command!
