  1. Right the scanning phase works fine and the drivers all load up then it boots into low res GEM desktop hard to work with I see files in drive A AUTO/CLIPBRD/DOCS/50_60HZ PRG/DESKTOP INF/NEWDESK INF/USBTOOL ACC I see Desk USB Utility 2 devices NetUSBee Root Hub and Kingston DataTraveler 3.0 I see empty folders: in this order F USB 4 J USB 8 N USB 12 G USB 5 K USB 9 O USB 13 D USB 2 H USB 6 F USB 4 L USB 10 P USB 14 E USB 3 I USB 7 M USB 11 Now as far a making or knowing anything about partitions on a ST or Windows i know nothing about them it's all new to me so if you don't mind you will have guide me in with baby step by steps (sorry) This you might need to know Drive Select Swap Mod is via toggle switch at the back (for swapping between CUSB - USB Floppy emulator/ Internal GoTek drive as A/B and B/A) At the moment toggle switch is set A position for the GoTek drive to act as drive A IF the toggle switch is set B position then the CUSB - USB Floppy emulator would act as drive A (i never can use both drives at once that's how it works)
  2. Yep loads up fine in the Gotek i see all files but have not done thing with them what's next? I see files and folders in the GEM desktop
  3. Right i made some progress on the USB key i now have folders and files in this order AUTO FOLDER and files inside in this order and they don't change any more 1st) USB.PRG 2nd) STORAGE.PRG 3rd) NETUSBEE.PRG FREEMINT FOLDER USBTOOL.ACC in root of key Does the above look correct? Thank flying fuck i had old win XP disc i had to install or a spare pc just to get this done Windows 10 has been half the problem stopping me i'm now gonna boot up STE with the key and see what happens Thank flying fuck i had old win XP disc i had to install or a spare pc just to get this done Windows 10 has been half the problem stopping me i'm now gonna boot up STE with the key and see what happens Edit:and still doesn't fucking work install the drive and its says drive does not exist i'm gonna format the key and try again what do i need FAT16 or FAT32 or something else before i put the new files and folders on? Just so i'm not losing my mind should i be using NETUSB03.zip i ask this because NETUSBEE.PRG is only place i see this file All this time been using NETUSB04.zip because it had updated files but noticed no NETUSBEE.PRG and seems to be replaced with NETUS000.PRG wtf is going on?
  4. I only have look at the NetUSBee i start foaming at the mouth boggling my eyes and grinding my teeth that's how much it's pissing me right off I can't even get past this stage let alone boot anything at all it did not work for me 1) Rename your current AUTO folder on the floppy disk to something like AUTO.OLD. 2) Create a new AUTO folder on the floppy disk. 3) Open the AUTO.OLD folder in one window and open the freshly created AUTO folder in another window, side by side. 4) Copy the files from AUTO.OLD to AUTO one by one in the order they should execute. 1st) USB.PRG 2nd) STORAGE.PRG 3rd) NETUSBEE.PRG 5) Delete your AUTO.OLD folder.
  5. I give up with the NetUSBee device everything i do nothing works just read file/programs from a USB key it should never be this hard FFS If i spend any more time with this and it doesn't work i'm gonna take a hammer to this useless fucking peace of shit
  6. No partitions on this USB key unless i need to make some? The floppy disks and disks drives was directed at 6BQ5 as he mentioned them
  7. You guys are losing me a bit here i don't have any access too floppy disks or floppy drives on the PC here or the STE they don't exist The only drives are the GoTek internal drive a external real floppy drive that's not connected and CUSB - USB Floppy emulator Drive when it's connected Forget about partitions i can't even read USB stick or keys yet because of this stupid file order shit won't work
  8. 1) Rename your current AUTO folder on the floppy disk to something like AUTO.OLD. Did not work?
  9. The USB here is a 16GB Kingston DataTraveler G4 i have tried 8 other keys when i install them i get error drive does not exist No matter what i do in the AUTO folder i cannot set files in this order USB.PRG <device drivers> NETUSBEE.PRG without the file keep swapping dunno if that's the problem? Before i go out and waste money does anybody know of actual USB key brand and type that works be specific please about the model also
  10. Using NETUSB04 software Did i need to format USB key in a certain way first? On the key at the moment i have USBTOOL.ACC in the root of the USB key and FREEMINT and TOSMAGIC folders I don't have any interest in mouse/keyboard/networking or partitions yet At the moment with NetUSBee and USB key installed when i boot up the STE i have to install disk drive as C this shows up empty as cartridge

  15. Got a Micro mate power supply shipped with this plus 4 does anybody know much about them Micro mate MP033716 i think that's the model or serial number?
  16. I wouldn't recommend a Frameister to anybody it's a massively over hyped product that's defunct and at £/$400 + without the accessories You get a pretty picture but with considerable latency delay too The reason i put the RetroTink2X 3.2 out their because it's a balanced price too performance product around £/$100 mark with considerable less latency I think for people who have a CRT display it's the best solution clearly providing the set isn't half knackered with old age yet If you can service and repair them that's a bonus most repair services won't touch them that's assuming they have the parts/tubes/in stock and service manual in print
  17. I'm getting best composite output so far on my unmodded PAL 800XL that probably wants a recap at some point and the S-VIDEO output looking at too Using RetroTink2X 3.2 pcb and very latest firmware theirs a few modes that work the best I've seen CVBS, Composite Retro mode for NTSC and PAL Composite Video mode Changes in the new firmware https://www.videogameperfection.com/forums/topic/retrotink-2x-new-firmware/
  18. Looks a lovely minter i can see this going for silly money

  20. The correct genre name for those is Interactive Fiction or could just call them text adventures
  21. From the things i keep hearing when these things don't work they should be called Ultra Anti Christ
  22. You wouldn't believe the stupid amount of money Cover,Manual,Reference Card and box go for on eBay let alone the game disk
  23. Shame we can't do internet play yet it's more then possible that's been proven with AtariWinPlus and Kaillera Perhaps if enough people kept asking phaeron he might one day implement netplay in Altirra with some thing different from Kaillera
  24. I could be very wrong here i'm pretty sure hxc paid for firmware doesn't yet support ATR files Instead i think you need FlashFloppy freeware firmware which does support ATR files under (Experimental)Releases from v2.7a and upwards https://github.com/keirf/FlashFloppy/wiki/Downloads
