  1. Looking smart, playing smoothly ! No big deal really, but some times the passengers move in the opposite direction from the one I was expecting..
  2. Some more chickens πŸ™ƒ, I guess it would be cool to have a different colored chicken for the 2nd player so there.. I have also included a new puff of smoke. There seem to be something wrong with the cars.. I can't pinpoint it exactly, going by eye, the car sprite is still 16 pixels wide but shrunk to 12 pixels height, am I right ? if yes, they need to be redrawn
  3. I think you nailed the speed of the chicken animation, also stopping it when stationary looks much better ! In the meantime I'll do some vehicle tests.

Hey @saxmeister love the progress πŸ‘ I managed 20 passes so far ! some suggestions: chicken needs to animate considerably faster, I think it would be better if it stopped animating when stationary and maybe use the "look left and right" animation occasionally, It would benefit greatly if you added some kind of visual indication that a car hit the chicken, maybe a simple puff of smoke (I'll gladly do this), the cars are looking better but I have to rethink them in association with the tarmac.. there are some problems there, if you could share the dimensions of the cars (and trucks) and maybe a png with the road it would help me greatly ! On the subject of allowing the chicken to move left and right.. maybe it can do that but only on the bottom and in the middle of the street ?! it wouldn't change the flow of the game. Thanks for a great port !
  5. Thanks for integrating them ! although I have improved them greatly on the 2nd set, they look great. Yes that was what I meant about the cars, and there is room for improvement ↓ Great progress, I love this game πŸ™‚

Hey, I couldn't leave this alone.. so some improvements ↓ upped the frame count to 4, made the running more frantic, I thought it would be cool for a cloud of feathers to follow the chicken ?! made several idle animation frames, potential death animation.. Also the cars should be given a slight 3d perspective to be in the same plane as the chicken, I've done some tests, but that's a problem for another day.. Again I don't want to step on any toes here, I'm just proposing some improvements/ideas per your request 🀘

  10. Hey @saxmeister, I always loved this game, but never liked the chicken moving sideways.. I'd like to help making this better, so I went ahead and prepared some sprites as a friendly offer ! 8x16, 3 colors + background, moving in 4 directions, animated in 2 frames. feel free to use them or not

  12. I don't know if you are aware of the A8 port ? we are adding the final touches as we speak, the assets are ready to go if need to be, and potentially be even better looking on the 7800 !
  13. I'm all for arcade de-makes, but I would sure love to see a Metroid/Castlevania type of game on the 7800, it doesn't need to be a straight port either, dozens of Metroivania type of games have been created from 1986 till today. I for one wont have to be hard-pressed to work on such a game !

  15. I started experimenting on various landing platforms a couple of weeks ago, but other projects got in the way.. Too much to do right now, but If you are still working on this I may resume work !

  17. This is an excellent rendition of the original, well done 🀘, I wanted to propose to get rid of Bub and Bob , replacing them with the new mascot thus making the game it's own thing ! Instead of proposing this and that, I just went for it ! So the new dino fits perfectly in the original dimensions (3x3 chars) and colors, I made several animations to see what's possible in 2 frames. I don't want to step on any toes here.. it's just a friendly offer, if the guys coding this aren't around here.. maybe someone can forward this to them ?! Take care.

  20. Hey, I have enhanced the hazards/objects present in the C64 version.. apart for a couple of explosions I think I got them all !? Many different versions of each to choose from, everything is animated in 4 frames, 8x16, 3 colors, I got a little carried away but I love doing them, (all goes to my archive for other projects anyway). Maybe there are some sizing errors, but fine tuning will have to wait until we can see them in-game ! OK here is what I got so far: snowflakes various balls falling stars radars cannon ball teleporters fuel pumps/tanks door switches tips and lost tips ! mines ..

I'd like for the cub to be able to "rotate" properly I can easily fit the cab, landing gear and vertical thrust in one 8x16 sprite but for better results, the horizontal thrust should be a separate sprite.. and a size comparison with the passenger I will add an explosion later on, but I think that's about it ? is there something more in later levels ? some flying enemy maybe, I don't remember.. I'll go watch some long play πŸ™‚
  22. yeah made them "slimmer" so they are more proportional to the cab ! Now about the cab, I guess from your example that it will be 8 pixels wide ? what about the exhaust thrust ? a separate sprite ?

  24. OK here we go with the passengers, we have a guy and a girl (and potentially more).. I made several animations that you can mix for variation, obviously some of them needs to have their speed adjusted for full effect (for example the last guy on the right that looks at his watch πŸ˜‰) Size-wise they are a tad smaller than the c64 and a tad bigger than yours, the frames varies between 2 and 4 for the lot ! I have included the c64's and yours for comparison.
