  1. I just put 2lbs worth of meatloaf in the pressure cooker. Looking forward to all the left overs.

Teeth are overrated. Would you like to take a sip of my fried chicken smoothie?

  3. Someone tell me with a straight face why this box art was acceptable. Here's the Japanese box art, it looks normal, nothing wrong here: Then here's the one the US got, I have no words, this is what an unused texture deep in the game's code looks like, not the box art that advertises the game:
  4. Over 1 million infected and 100k deaths... And to think I thought this was "just a bad flu" only a couple of months ago.

Just remember that if a guy sneezes right before a piano falls on his head, it probably counts as one of those deaths. :D Health and Safety might be confusing topics in 2020.

But if we all wear our masks as we're told, and practice good social engineering skills, errrr I mean social distancing... this will all go away real soon, ya think? ? It's not like 'divide & conquer' has worked in the past, right?

I haven't heard any scientists say that those safety practices will make it go away soon. It'll make it so there's room in the hospitals for the people who refuse to practice them and run out of luck.

  5. Yes and no, I mean, they technically do still "support" those systems, but the info they give you probably isn't any better (or worse) than what you can find by doing a quick google search. A system isn't retro if you can still get it officially repaired (which in Nintendo's case, the DS is the oldest system they'll repair). Off-topic, but next time anyone has a Virtual Boy problem, call Nintendo and see what advice they give you.

  7. But what if the system is still supported and has games being officially released? Take the 360 for example, it's 15 years old, but it's still supported by Microsoft (as of 5/27/20), is that retro?
  8. Yes, it has to be officially licensed by the console creator (in this case, sega). Bonus points if it gets a retail release. Although that brings up another question, if the original company licenses homebrew for a retro console, would that system be no longer retro? Can systems stop being retro?
  9. You know, the Discord isn't half bad! it's like the forums, if it were a council meeting.

  10. I just found a (slight) flaw in my list, I said the PS2 is retro, even though it's technically not by my criteria (the last PS2 game came out in 2013, therefore it will be retro in 2023).
  11. Here's my criteria for a retro console: 1. It cannot have any official new games being released for it (duh!) 2. The system has to be unsupported for at least 10 years 3. If it has online capabilities, it must be no longer supported by the official company 4. It has to have an emulator By these criteria, the PS2, Xbox, GameCube, Dreamcast, and GBA era are the most recent retro consoles and the next generation will be completely retro in 2029-2030 (?). Of course, this is subject to change (I've heard that the PS3's PSN is the same as the PS4's PSN, so it may never go offline).
  12. I got online to play some BO1 Zombies and I forgot how sensitive people are on there, they get hit once and they drop out (there usually the host, so they ruin the fun for everybody else).

They might actually start prescribing them. Doctors have been baffled by the fact that fewer smokers than expected are dying of Covid. In France, 25% of the population smoke but only 5% of those who've died from Covid have been smokers. It's a pattern that's been noticed in other countries. So, a cigarette a day keeps the doctor away. It's the new carbolic smokeball ... except that it seems to work.

  14. Staying at home more often has negatively taken a toll on my gaming time. I now just lay in my bed and watch YouTube (while occasionally playing Vice City on my PC), I just can't get myself to do anything.

  16. Finally got around to playing the 2600 and got 46,600 points! It's not much, but I think I can make up a strategy for this one.

  18. It was the morning memorial day 2019, I got up to make some food when I took the wrong turn and knee when out and back into place, making me fall on the floor in horrible pain. I somehow got to my bedroom when Redlettermedia's Jack and Jill review was playing. I watched most of it, but I was in too much pain to go back to sleep, so I used my wooden practice katana as a makeshift cane and struggled to get to the medicine cabinet and get some anacin. After getting back to my room, I burst into tears due to the pain whilst the ending of the review is going on (where they take a huge piss out of the movie, doing their own version of it). After my knee healed, I started to watch Best of the Worst and the rest is history. Here's the ending of their Jack and Jill review, watch it and imagine someone crying in the background:
  19. Here's my review. Rygar was pretty fun but doesn't seem like a game I would play. 7/10 Operation Logic Bomb is surprisingly good. It's a top-down shooter, similar to the early Grand Theft Auto games, but you're in the 20XXs. 8/10 I wasn't familiar with Wild Guns until I saw the gameplay, its like Blood Bros, but with bigger sprites. 7/10 Panel De Pon (Tetris Attack) is good, you have to match colors on a horizontal plane (why not both horizontal and vertical?). It's kind of like actual Tetris, it's boring at first but gets more and more fun the longer you play it. This and Operation Logic Bomb are probably the only ones I'll play again. 9/10 Verdict: Not as bad as I expected, but definitely could've been better. Also, Super Punchout on the SFC app doesn't have any artwork, it's just the title screen for the thumbnail.

  21. I was watching someone do a review for the Atari Flashback Classics on the Switch, and of his complaints was  "You have to read the manuals to know what to do".

That's some kind of irony considering how complex video games are today.  Besides, reading the manual gives you some interesting insights into the stories for some games.

  22. It's official. I have 1,000 hours on YouTube for the Nintendo Switch. I'm both severely disappointed in myself and feel accomplished.
